Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 190: The Feast Frenzy

Chapter 190: Chapter 190: The Feast Frenzy

"Repeat! The 15th floor of Xiaohua Honghong Building is about to close, please proceed to the 14th floor!"

Following the electronic alarm was a prolonged air raid siren, and several players who were close to the elevator not only did not enter but also retreated a few steps.

"Could this be a trap?" someone asked.

However, the air raid siren stopped at that moment, and the electronic voice resumed, "Countdown: sixty seconds, fifty-nine, fifty-eight..."

The lights inside the elevator began to flicker, urging those present to make a decision quickly.

Xu Huo glanced at the clock next to him and saw there were still forty seconds until six o’clock. His expression darkened, and he stepped into the elevator with big strides.

Acting at the same time was an older player with glasses who entered another elevator.

"Dai Wenqian, what are you..." Zheng Liang said in surprise, looking at his companion.

Dai Wenqian, with a hint of a smile, said, "Come on in. We have to go down anyway. There’s a chance of survival if we take the elevator, but there’s only death if we’re forced to jump."

The first to act were Gu Yu and Wei Bin. Gu Yu quickly returned to the car to grab food, and within seconds, entered the elevator.

Xiao Ba, Zhang Biao, and others followed suit. They were about to take the same elevator, but Dai Wenqian stopped the people behind him, pointing to the elevator’s load limit of thirteen people stated beside it, "Only thirteen can enter at one time. You guys go to the other one."

The last four players left didn’t say anything, exchanged glances, and headed to the nearby elevator.

As the players left, the others naturally didn’t dare to fall behind and rushed toward the elevators.

The flower seller and the strong man entered the elevator on Xu Huo’s right, while Kang Hong, the wealthy young lady, and the tall woman were the first to rush into Xu Huo’s elevator.

When the number reached thirteen, Xu Huo kicked out two people who were squeezing at the door, "It’s full, go to another elevator."

The rejected one with a sharp chin and cheekbones protested angrily, "It’s not showing as overweight, who are you to not let me into the elevator!"

Xu Huo didn’t respond but instead drew the Crimson Sword and placed it in front of him.

"...Twenty seconds, nineteen seconds..." The countdown continued, and those still outside the elevator didn’t dare delay any longer and desperately ran to the next elevator, with the sharp-chinned individual cursing as he followed.

Until the elevator doors closed, there were still sounds of shoving and angry shouting outside.

"Ding!" A few seconds later, the elevator doors opened on the 14th floor, which was completely dark; the windows were sealed with some material, and only faint daylight filtered in from outside, not nearly enough to clearly make out the layout inside.

No sooner had Xu Huo stepped out of the elevator than a mummified corpse toppled over beside him, landing on the wealthy young lady who had just stepped out behind him, startling her into screaming. Along with her scream, movements were heard from certain areas on the 14th floor.

Kang Hong and the tall woman hurried to cover her mouth, looking toward the source of the noise in terror, while Xu Huo, who could see in the dark, said, "Something fell; there’s no danger."

The group relaxed and left the elevator before the doors closed.

Xu Huo squatted down in front of the mummy, and the tall woman turned on her phone’s flashlight to give him light.

Xu Huo pinched the mummy’s arm, then moved its head, finding a hole the size of an egg at the back of its neck.

"Was he drained dry?" the tall woman’s voice trembled.

People from the adjacent elevator started coming out as well, with the flower selling girl propping her phone forward as she walked. She quickly said, "There’s another mummified corpse here too!"

It wasn’t just her—others who emerged afterward also began to discover bodies scattered about the place.

Dispersed light sources illuminated the fourteenth floor, gradually clarifying the layout here.

The fourteenth floor, unlike the office area of the fifteenth floor, was completely open. It was lined with glass tanks measuring two meters in length and width, each filled with a green liquid. Tubing was inserted around the edges, connecting to a series of special metal devices labeled "Nutrient Solution Mixer."

"There seems to be something in the water," someone leaning on the tank wall observed.

As several beams of light shone over, many people could see egg-sized, transparent eggs floating near the edges of the tanks, vaguely revealing a type of multi-legged spider.

Swallowing sounds filled the air, and someone said, "Could this entire floor be breeding blood-sucking spiders?"

The beam of a flashlight swept left and right. In front of them were dozens of identical tanks—some filled to the brim with eggs that almost overflowed, while others already had small spiders moving around inside.

"They’re coming out!" the flower selling girl exclaimed, lifting her foot to stomp on a spider crawling by her feet.

Close by, Xu Huo, with quick reflexes, yanked her back, shouting, "Don’t just stomp around!"

The flower selling girl quickly regained her senses and hastily said, "Right, right, with so many people dead here, there must be giant spiders."

"Everyone be careful, don’t step on the small spiders!"

People hastily retracted their feet, avoiding the small spiders while searching for any possible giant ones.

However, the entire fourteenth floor was in plain sight, with no place for spiders to hide except for these tanks.

Xu Huo seemed to sense something and suddenly looked up at the ceiling, only to see it covered with giant black spiders, each over half a meter long. Their furry legs intertwined, clinging to the roof like a tapestry!

And less than a meter away from him, a spider was descending toward him, its pair of dark red circular eyes above a cylindrical mouthpart!

Xu Huo stepped back and sliced the spider in half. He then shouted to the people behind him, "Turn off the lights!"

Before his words had finished, two people who had come down with him in the elevator were bitten on the back of the neck by spiders. The screams and sucking sounds intermingled as Kang Hong, gathering his courage, attempted to smash a spider with his backpack, only to be stuck by webs spat out by the spider, who then threw him along with the bag!

Dodging the panicked runners, Xu Huo skewered a couple of spiders with his sword. But the two men who had been grabbed by the neck had blood holes on the sides of their necks and their faces were sliced to a bloody mess by the sharp spider legs; they managed only to gurgle twice before dying.

"Ahhh!!!" At that moment, screams erupted from everywhere. Not just in their vicinity, people were being attacked by spiders, and in a mere moment, over a dozen were pierced through their necks!

The indulgent sucking sounds drew even more spiders downward. It wasn’t just the ordinary, doorless escapees; even players were caught off guard.

Zheng Liang tore off a spider that had landed on his back, slamming it hard on the ground, before stomping its head to a pulp. He then blinked next to Gu Yu and knocked off a spider that was pouncing on her!

Gu Yu swung her sword, killing several spiders, then looked up and realized not just one layer of spiders was perched above, but layers upon layers of them. As the outer layer descended, the ones inside began to awaken as well. She suddenly realized something and shouted, "Turn off all the flashlights, the light is waking the spiders!"

"Are you joking? Without light, we are as blind as bats, heading straight for death!" Zhang Biao, holding a triangular ruler-like object, said while fighting, "Things have come to this; I say we kill all these creatures!"
