Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 1420 - 1421: Contract

Chapter 1420: Chapter 1421: Contract

At this moment, the instruments inside the detection chamber emitted periodic alarm sounds, Elder Lu turned her head slightly to look, "There is some radioactivity, but the danger level is not high. However, with this, it should no longer be any Secondary Stone."

"Why do you say that?" Xu Huo asked.

"Although Secondary Stones are diverse, the ores that can pollute their surrounding environment are not listed among the prop raw materials, nor are they categorized under Secondary Stones, but are collectively categorized as polluted ores." Fang Jie explained on behalf, "Such ores can be made into props, but their pollution is difficult to control. Long-term use can inversely affect the owner, and the Game Government has regulations explicitly forbidding polluted ores from being used to create props."

To put it simply, these are unqualified prop-making materials. Due to their polluting nature, general Artifact Makers wouldn’t risk taking them on.

"However, if such materials are used wisely, they can still be made into lethal props." Elder Lu mentioned casually, "Props, when created, aren’t meant to protect others, are they?"

They are all tools for killing. It all depends on how the owner uses them.

"With the myriad of strange ores in the game, it’s hard to ensure the props made from these ores are risk-free." To Xu Huo, radioactive ores are more troublesome than ordinary germs or toxins.

"That’s quite correct." Elder Lu seemed rather interested in experimenting. She suggested keeping this ore together, offering Xu Huo two props as collateral. If at the time, it couldn’t be returned or no prop was made, the collaterals would become Xu Huo’s.

"Will this affect your health?" Xu Huo asked.

"No, no, I’ve got a long life ahead of me." The old lady waved it off.

It was still Fang Jie answering on the side: "Artifact Makers wear protective suits when working, it’s basically no problem."

Xu Huo nodded, readily agreeing to leave the ore, "But I still hope you can first make that Secondary Stone into a prop."

For such a large ore, a final result would take some time. The three returned to the reception room outside, Elder Lu smiled and handed two Rank-B props to Xu Huo, "During the time of props creation, feel free to use these two props, it doesn’t matter if they’re damaged."

Fang Jie fetched a contract, explaining first: "This is a prop contract, a signed contract certified by the game, able to recognize player identity, listing rules both parties should abide by, and how compensation is handled post-breach. The ore, as a consumable material, will inevitably have some loss during production, and players must acknowledge this. Additionally, the props used as collaterals shouldn’t be destroyed in theory, or it violates the agreement, allowing Teacher Lu to withhold the prop being made for you or the ore in part until you make amends."

Elder Lu was notably displeased upon hearing this, "Contract or not, I use the props I make how I see fit!"

Fang Jie chuckled, "Yes, we of course listen to the teacher, but the contract still has to be signed to avoid disputes. You remember last time you didn’t want to sign a contract, that player took the prop and ran, and ultimately you had to pay a tax to the game."

Unearthed past mistakes silenced Elder Lu, not speaking up further.

"It’s necessary." Xu Huo browsed the contract briefly and signed his player nickname.

Fang Jie checked over before handing it to Elder Lu for her signature, then said, "The contract is established, if Mr. Xu breaches it, the game will seek the props creation fee on his behalf."

"Additionally, Mr. Xu needn’t worry about his information leaking, as only the signing parties can see this contract, and what I can see are just the contract terms."

"You just talk too much." Elder Lu urged her to quickly move on.

With the contract in hand, Xu Huo’s affairs were nearly settled, and the two exchanged contact information and prepared to leave.

The old lady escorted him to the door, saying kindly, "Next time if you have good ores, feel free to bring them to me."

After speaking, she grabbed two miniature robots from the basket at the door, "Take these for fun."

"Certainly." Xu Huo smiled and accepted.

When he walked out of the courtyard and reached the corner of the street, he was stopped by the young man from earlier, who cheerfully said, "Buddy, inside there for so long, you must have quite the good ores, right? Do you have any extras to sell me one?"

"I don’t have any ores, but I have other things." Xu Huo said.

"Prop raw materials?" The young man immediately asked, "Show me, I’ll give you 20% over market price!"

Xu Huo took out the New Energy Cannon, "Interested?"

The young man, Xin Rong, glanced at the weapon and became startled, "It’s you!"

Earlier at the mining portal in Flower City, Xu Huo inadvertently saved him. To repay him, Xin Rong not only helped open the Mental Space entrance in the mining portal but generously lent him weapon props.

"A loan must be repaid." Xu Huo handed over the item, "I had initially planned to find you after finishing business here at the Eye of Platinum, didn’t expect to meet you in advance."

Xin Rong came up and clapped his shoulder vigorously, "Buddy, you’re really something! I’ve lent out so many weapon props, and no one ever bothers to return!"

"Here’s the deal, you’ve come such a long way, today’s on me, I’ll show you around the Eye of Platinum!"

"I still have to do two more instances, let’s talk after that." Xu Huo replied.

"Looking to level up, eh?" Xin Rong gave a ’no-sweat’ expression, "Leveling is easy; I’ve got a team specializing in guiding players through instances around the Eye of Platinum, taking Rank-A ratings is no issue!"

"Last time you saved me, and Xin Rong’s life isn’t something small; I assure you, I’ll get you through two good instances smoothly, no lower than Rank-A Rating."

Fixed instances with discovered patterns easily become places for players to form teams for level grinding, especially as instance strategies become more detailed, achieving high scores isn’t hard.

However, there are two issues with such walkthroughs: one, while walkthrough-based completion reduces risk and increases completion rates, players lack training. Particularly with prolonged use of this method, even if Player Level increases, completion and combat experience might be insufficient.

Two, the game awards ratings and rewards based on player performance in instances. Large-scale, non-autonomous completion will surely lead to reduced ratings and rewards, especially regarding rewards; whether they match player growth or offer suitable props or attributes depends entirely on the game.

If post-completion yields no real benefits, then the act holds little meaning itself.

Of course, if there’s a short-term need for upgrading or survival, paying for strategies or hiring guides for completion is still valuable.
