Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die! -
Chapter 1358 - 1359
Chapter 1358: Chapter 1359
The dummy player didn’t expect that the person who had been tangled with him for so long would suddenly become so formidable, but he wasn’t the only one with a hidden card!
A heart-shaped prop rolled onto the ground.
However, Xu Huo, standing next to him, didn’t even flinch. As the prop was invisibly deflected away, a translucent defensive barrier enveloped him— the defensive range of the "Unassailable Territory" was not large to begin with, and it was impossible to completely cover the person lying down, especially since Xu Huo had no intention of protecting him.
The Black Blade piercing his heart continued to twist forcefully, even after the prop exploded, it did not relax for a moment. The dummy player’s painful groans were drowned out by the explosion, but after the bright light passed, he still clung to life.
Watching helplessly as the explosive flames were blocked inches away by the invisible barrier, the dummy player looked on with hatred, but he couldn’t speak; he could only cast a sidelong glance to curse Xu Huo with his eyes.
Xu Huo only pulled out the Black Blade with a calm expression after he saw him take his last breath.
Even so, his anger was still hard to quell.
No matter if Dr. Duor was real or a clone, nominally, he was someone Twin Cities had to protect. Judging by Dai Song’s previous behavior, he and the dummy player seemed to know each other, and the two were likely companions. Unlike Dai Song, the dummy player could sacrifice a "Dr. Duor" just to lure an outsider player into a trap.
It sounded absurd.
Naturally, the dummy player might not be on the side of Twin Cities.
Inheriting the other’s belongings, Xu Huo first checked the luggage compartment, but aside from food and water, it was crammed with several corpses.
Upon removing them, they were all identical-looking "Dr. Duor," each corpse preserved in a special body bag with tags and notes.
Xu Huo flipped over one of them. It read: "Inhaled a large number of white mushroom spores."
This Dr. Duor’s mouth and nose were covered in some mycelium, growing in particularly good condition.
The proliferative ability of the mutant white mushroom was indeed strong, but it was by no means capable of rapidly growing in a living person’s mouth and nose. The human body couldn’t provide it nourishment, and even if one inhaled a certain amount of spores, there was a potion that could be taken, making death impossible.
However, this corpse had no external injuries nor signs of poisoning.
Without opening the body bag, he proceeded to check the second corpse, the card stating: "Died from shock."
The person’s eyes remained open, but as a dead person cannot retain expressions, all that was visible was a not-so-peaceful visage. The cause of death from inhaling spores was already strange enough, and now there was death from shock?
At least the two Dr. Duors he had seen before were normal people, seemingly without heart issues.
The third corpse was even stranger, noted as "Itch-grass Snakeweed."
The body had many scratch marks, but they were mostly shallow wounds, like red marks left from mosquito bites, not even breaking the skin, and Snakeweed is a mutant plant that can cause skin itchiness, mentioned in Twin Cities’ manual; it’s slightly toxic, not even requiring antitoxin, a normal person would itch for a few minutes at most.
The two corpses behind also had strange notes, clearly denoting the cause of death, but the reasons seemed inexplicable, even for an Evolver, not to mention an unevolved child, it wasn’t possible to die from such causes.
Sweeping his eyes over the bodies on the ground, Xu Huo took out the "World in the Painting," unexpectedly discovering the person on the paper was gasping like a dehydrated fish, unable to make a sound.
