Chapter 1317: Chapter 1318: Battle at the Station

(To be modified later) After a brief respite, Flower City distributed welfare to ordinary citizens and made hefty compensations to nearby small cities affected by the events. Now, several cities are preparing celebrations, under the pretense of soothing pain.

Watching the segments of joyous citizens broadcasted on the Collection of Information Terminal, Xu Huo was momentarily silent before turning off the communicator.

Killing anyone, let alone the rising stars of the Han Family, could not change the current landscape of this city, even with the leaders of the Han Family allied with various forces of Flower City. A weak spark cannot start a prairie fire, but where there is a spark, there is hope for a blaze.

Of course, doing something might not be meaningful, but if you do nothing, you have nothing.

Glancing at the lively and peaceful street, Xu Huo disappeared into the crowd.

In the next moment, he reappeared at the station.

The instant he landed, a strong stench invaded his nostrils first. Simultaneously, two players emerged from the corners of the station, filled with blood and dismembered limbs, attacking him from left and right!

Two invisible gusts of wind slashed at the "Goalkeeper" barrier like sharp blades, rebounding with a ring, only to be struck back onto the ground by the two advancing players.

"Little bunny, open the door!" shouted one player with a small braid at Xu Huo. The "Goalkeeper" barrier automatically formed a portal, which quickly closed again, but not before the braided player rushed inside, grinning wickedly, and swung a long scythe at Xu Huo’s neck!

The Cubic Space unfolded as Xu Huo entered the station. With a hook of his left hand, three spatial barriers came between the two, although typical spatial barriers couldn’t block some powerful props. When the braided player broke through the first two barriers, Xu Huo teleported behind him, sweeping across with the Black Blade in his right hand!

The defense prop worn by the braided player shattered. In a desperate moment, he parried the Black Blade with his scythe, though the prop scythe was cut and his arm severed, he narrowly saved his life. He turned to flee but only ran a few meters before his waist was suddenly struck. Hearing a crunch of his spinal bone, he crashed into the "Goalkeeper" barrier, fell to the ground heavily, and was shredded by a sudden whirlwind.

The other attacking player was also shredded, but outside the barrier.

The two were violently shredded apart. When they fell to the ground, their bloody remains were unrecognizable. Xu Huo glanced at them coldly, then turned his gaze to the other players inside the station.

This station had been through countless battles. It was the filthiest one Xu Huo had visited, stained with overlapping layers of old and new blood. The floor, windows, and even the ceilings were marked with indescribably dried grime. Although there were no bones or decaying corpses, there were plenty of fresh dead bodies.

The living players seemed to split into three groups.

The two who had attacked from two of these groups appeared to have formed an alliance, led by a purple-eyed woman player on one side and a middle-aged man with one eye on the other. They all stared at Xu Huo with fierce eyes.

The other group was relatively scattered and showed no obvious hostility towards him.

"Don’t go over there," the purple-eyed woman player stopped her partner, nodding at the ground, "there’s a trap."

"Who cares about traps!" said the One-Eyed strongman as he threw a bunch of metal beads on the ground. The scattered beads activated the Fluttering Snowflakes traps hidden outside the "Goalkeeper" barrier. Dozens of wind beams shot into the air, and then the One-Eyed strongman twisted a fist-sized round box. As the box spun, he swapped positions with Xu Huo!

"Kill him!" As soon as the position swap was successful, the One-Eyed strongman charged back wielding a wide long cleaver. By then, the barrier of the "Goalkeeper" had vanished due to Xu Huo’s departure, leaving him surrounded by the players who originally stood with the One-Eyed strongman!

Various props and characteristics were employed instantly. Although a Rank-A Defense Item could block most attacks, there was no guarantee that some peculiar characteristics wouldn’t work from tricky angles. Hence, the moment the position swapped, Xu Huo moved thirty meters away, dodging the first peak, then doubled back, pulling up both "Everything Wants to Slice" and "Horizontal Tailoring."

The secant lines adhered to the air, enough to cover the entire station, while "Horizontal Tailoring" has a three-second buffer time. Three seconds later, it would form a hundred-meter-long cut at five centimeters above the ground. But as a supplement, this was adequate.

Controlling the secant lines with his left hand, while avoiding the ground-level cut, Xu Huo flashed through the group led by the One-Eyed strongman, sparing no one.

At the scene, six people died instantly, and out of the remaining eight, including the One-Eyed strongman, half were wounded. Within the next ten seconds, Xu Huo harvested them one by one—in less than half a minute since the confrontation started, the One-Eyed group’s numbers dwindled from fourteen to four, yet it was not over.

Xu Huo’s speed might not be the best among players of his rank, but his Spatial Evolutionary Power was enough to cover this weakness. He could change direction and close distances at will while using spatial barriers as shields to ensure the opponent’s props were ineffective. Even without coordinating with the Spiritual World, he could handle them swiftly and cleanly.

His silhouette flashed like lightning, unpredictable and hard to track. Unable to pin down the enemy’s position, the One-Eyed strongman and his team were at a disadvantage, their defensive barriers as fragile as sun-dried paper under the Black Blade, shattering at the slightest touch, leaving them unresisting.
