Chapter 1308: Chapter 1309: Abandoned Prop

Xu Huo certainly wouldn’t be polite, he packed it into his luggage compartment, "I’ll return it to you later!"

Xin Rong waved his hand indicating he didn’t mind, "My family deals in weapons, there are plenty of these things, it’s actually some special items that are more precious."

Xu Huo watched him fiddle with the props on the table and said, "When we came out, I heard you say you can open several layers of space in the Spiritual World, so why are you trapped in the Mental Space instead?"

Xin Rong scratched his head, "Different evolution directions, my Spirit Evolution is a bit different from others. Most people mainly use Psychic Power to interfere with reality. I’m not very good at this aspect, but the development within the Spiritual World is quite good, especially in places like Flower City where it’s very easy to enter the internal space of the Spiritual World. I just didn’t expect the Spiritual instance venue arranged by the Super Players to be so formidable; I underestimated this partition. I thought the Super Players had been dead for years and the control power of the instance venue had weakened somewhat, but I almost lost my life as a consequence."

Xu Huo said strangely, "So, you can’t do the basics instead?"

Xin Rong said convincingly, "What do you call basic? You shouldn’t forget that the strongest aspect of Mental Interference is making people unable to distinguish between fake and real, especially for Super Evolvers like us, we are naturally more prone to fall into traps and believe our own judgment. How could it be that easy?"

Xu Huo was speechless, it was evident that his words held sincerity.

"Moreover, creating Mental Space isn’t inherently difficult," Xin Rong continued, "It just depends on what kind of space you want to create; the bigger and more complex, the harder it is to create and control. But if you just want to drill through a single room, it doesn’t take much effort, it’s just that it’s of no great use."

Seeing that he wasn’t avoiding this topic, Xu Huo earnestly sought advice, ultimately concluding that it was easier to control Evolutionary Power by utilizing specially customized props.

"Isn’t the biggest difference between humans and animals the ability to master tools?" Xin Rong sharply elaborated on the foundation of Eye of Platinum, "Why exert oneself when something can be accomplished with tools?"

Xu Huo gave him a meaningful look.

Xin Rong probably felt it was a bit contradictory to boast after narrowly escaping starvation, so he changed his tone, "Of course, each has its advantages, um, let’s take a look at these props."

The items he pulled out were all Advanced Items, including several effective Rank A Props, and two special items assisting Psychic Power usage.

"You only want me to help open a door, right? Nothing else, right?" Xin Rong reiterated before saying, "If that’s the case, all these props can be loaned to you, but I have to ask you to return two of them that I particularly like afterward."

Xu Huo was trying out the two special items and said, "Gauge the situation, leave me a contact number. If I leave first, I’ll return the props to you through the game later."

Xin Rong only disclosed his nickname, "The gaming platform isn’t safe, codes are easily cracked. If there’s no time, you can come to Eye of Platinum to find me, my family is fairly reputable at Eye of Platinum, not hard to inquire about."

Xu Huo was planning to leave an address for him, but Xin Rong didn’t care at all, waving his hand, "I don’t like going to find people, just return to me when a suitable opportunity arises. If you really don’t want to return them, it’s your loss anyway."

Xu Huo chuckled, "That’s true, where else can you find such a generous friend."

"Making friends with people at Eye of Platinum won’t ever cheat you." Xin Rong was still praising his hometown when suddenly a white light burst forth outside the window, a white sphere shooting skyward exploded in the sky and became a semi-transparent light shield, directly enveloping an entire municipality.

"This is a single-layer barrier," Xin Rong glanced and said, "Something must have happened in the municipality... Does what you need to deal with relate to the municipality?"

The two exchanged glances, Xin Rong opened a door in the room and pointed his chin inward, "Let’s go, let’s join the fun."

The barrier didn’t completely separate the interior and exterior of the municipality. Thanks to Xin Rong’s Mental Space, the two entered the underground passage, switching twice from the instance venue before entering the municipality. When they entered, a shell exploded right in front of them—the explosion didn’t fully penetrate the Mental Space, but its powerful shockwave caused some damage, sending Xu Huo and Xin Rong flying several meters, landing back on the ground only to see the building hit by the shell had been blown into rubble. Shortly after, a Player landed on the ruins, surveying the area and gesturing instructions to the distant companions to move in a certain direction within the municipality.

These were Flower City Players.

Through the instance venue, the range Xu Huo could see greatly increased. A thousand meters ahead of them, six Players were pursuing two Players in black clothing. The six were constantly using props, but the two Players in black were equipped with Defense Props and nullification props. Neither side’s props could be said to have gained the upper hand, but the effect duration was undoubtedly short, and the advanced Player’s senses were sharper, feeling something was amiss they would even preemptively avoid props.

In such circumstances, the importance of Player combat ability became apparent. The speed of the two Black clothed Players was fast, and as the rear-end Players’ props didn’t take effect, the gap between the two sides grew larger. One of them ended up shaking off the pursuers, disappearing into a building. When a firework-like flare shot out from the building, the Black-clothed Player came out with over ten people behind him.

These people were also Players, but not battle-hardened ones. When they descended, most were in a fluster, fumbling for props, yet the Black-clothed Player leading them looked back and said, "Abandon props."

At the instant the words fell, everyone involuntarily dropped the tools they held!

"Help!" these people cried out, and some amazingly flailed and struggled, falling to their deaths!

Although not completely immobilized, they were overly reliant on props, and once props weren’t available, they even forgot the actual strength of Evolvers’ physical bodies... Over half of the over ten people cracked open upon contact with the ground, of the rest, some were rescued by incoming Flower City Players, some barely buffering using surrounding objects, but ended up gravely injured.

After the meeting of the two Black-clothed Players forward and behind, ignoring the life or death of these people, upon seeing a gathering of more incoming Players, the murderous Black-clothed Player entering the building shouted again to the surroundings, "Abandon props!"

Nearly two-thirds of the close to twenty nearby Players dropped the props they held, and in the moment they were thus distracted, the other Black-clothed Player passed seamlessly behind them like a shadow, followed by a dozen heads flying up!
