Chapter 126: Chapter 126 Black-White Roulette Game

"Hey! It’s turned white over here again!" The speaker looked to the side, exclaiming repeatedly, "These colors seem to be moving!"

It wasn’t just one person; within moments, everyone in the plaza was crying out in alarm. Right beneath their feet, zebra-like stripes of black and white lines surged forth from the direction of the cinema, continuously extending like a progress bar until they had covered the entire plaza!

The origin of these black and white lines was unknown, but in an extremely short amount of time, even the nearby streets were overtaken, and these lines disregarded walls, extending directly into the surrounding shops!

In the shop where Xu Huo was, a waiter peeking out the door jumped up as if scalded, only to turn around and see Xu Huo and two others already standing on the table; he hastily clambered up themselves.

"What is this?" The waiter asked in a panic.

Xu Huo, watching the outside from his position, could see the neighboring streets; when the zebra pattern appeared in the plaza, the streets were already overrun. Therefore, the coverage of this zebra pattern must be quite extensive, and since buildings offered no barrier, even if they were to go out now, it would probably be impossible to leave the area quickly.

Moreover, without touching the ground, as the shadow passed beneath his feet, he still felt a subtle restraint.

Was this also the power of a prop?

"What the hell is this thing?" Wang Chaoqing clamored nervously, "Bro, is it the players? Did some high-level player do this?! Are we going to get killed?"

At that moment, the chefs and several others had all come out from the interior of the shop. Initially, everyone’s face was a picture of panic, but when the manager saw people standing on the table, he immediately said, "What are you doing? Is a table a place to stand on?"

The waiter on the table hesitated, but out of respect for the manager’s authority, he slowly got down.

But the manager was greeted by Wang Chaoqing’s retort, which sent him backing off before he even opened his mouth: "Shut your trap! Do you believe I’ll smash up your shop if you spout nonsense?!"

The manager’s face turned pale, but at that moment, a waiter pulled open the door, and the tumultuous noise from outside flooded into the shop!

First, inexplicable declarations appeared on all public channels, followed by news of explosions spreading through the internet. Before they had time to digest this, strange zebra patterns appeared on the ground... Most ordinary people hadn’t yet recovered from the consecutive shocks when a young man and woman in the middle of the plaza suddenly exploded!

They actually exploded!

A couple, huddled together, inexplicably burst into a mist of blood, splattering the faces of those nearby!

"Ahh!!!" Piercing screams cut through the plaza, and someone shouted, "There’s a bomb", leading the thronged crowd to scatter in all directions!

But before they could escape the plaza, one after another, people in the crowd exploded. Unlike when it was crowded, the more spread out crowd now had a clearer view. Witnessing such a gruesome scene, people began screaming and shoving, frantically seeking refuge anywhere they could!

Quite a few people rushed into Xu Huo’s location, but the moment they entered, one of them exploded, and the rest tumbled and scrambled for the exit!

Several waiters standing at the entrance were spattered with blood, their eyes and noses blurred, leaving them trembling and unable to move.

"Close the door," Xu Huo said as he jumped off the table, addressing Wang Chaoqing.

"Close the door?" Wang Chaoqing asked in shock. "Aren’t we running?"

"Can you run?" Xu Huo replied. "This whole area is covered with these zebra patterns. Do you want to explode like those people outside?"

Wang Chaoqing swallowed hard and hurried to close the door, also rousing the stunned manager to fetch a lock.

"Have them wash their faces." After locking the door, Xu Huo then instructed the manager, "Does your shop have anyone else? Call them out."

"No, no one else." The manager shook his head reflexively, telling the waiter who had climbed onto the table to take those three people to wash up, with two chefs accompanying them to help.

"What do I call you, sir?" The manager approached Xu Huo, his voice uncertain. "Do you know what just happened? Was it terrorists?"

Xu Huo’s gaze wandered around the plaza as he said, "Did you see that declaration earlier? You could say it was terrorists."

"Were bombs placed on those people who died?" The manager trembled slightly, seemingly trying to confirm his own thoughts.

This time Xu Huo didn’t speak, while the Girl in the Painting propped up her cellphone and glared at the manager, "Please don’t disturb him!"

Wang Chaoqing stepped over and brushed the manager aside, threatening in a low voice, "Stop bothering my bro. If he can’t figure out a solution, everyone’s going to die!"

"Is there any news on the internet?" Xu Huo asked next.

"I’ll check right away!" Wang Chaoqing immediately took out his phone.

The manager, quick on the uptake, followed suit. He had followed several aerial live stream accounts and quickly located a video near the mall.

"Sir, take a look at this," he said, handing it over promptly.

Xu Huo looked at the live stream video which was positioned right above the mall, capturing both the mall and some of the surrounding areas in its lens.

As the camera pulled back, the ground’s seemingly evenly distributed zebra stripes showed differences in thickness, all converging from afar toward the direction of the mall.

He took out his phone to download the latest satellite images. In the vast expanses of Sea City, a circular black-and-white pattern covered its most bustling district. If the buildings were removed, this pattern would resemble a huge Black-White Roulette, with its center point being a skyscraper some distance from the mall.

"Bro, look at this video!" Wang Chao exclaimed. "This video just happened to capture the process of the zebra lines appearing!"

Xu Huo shifted his gaze to the screen, where a circular line first appeared, as if demarcating territory. Then at the edge of the circle, black-and-white checkered boxes started to emerge, flowing 360 degrees inward, until they converged onto the Skyscraper.

All this over such a large area, was it really achievable with a prop?

Was this just a simple murder prop, or was it a game instance?

"Zzt!" The grand screen on the plaza and various other TVs suddenly lit up all at once, each showing the same face.

"The following is the announcement of the Black-White Life-and-Death Game rules," said the middle-aged man on the screen, smiling as he began.

"First, all individuals who enter the Life-and-Death Game are considered automatic participants."

"Second, every two individuals will have at least one chance at the Roulette."

"Third, landing on a black space means game failure, resulting in death for the player in various ways, while a white space means victory, offering the player one chance at survival."

"Fourth, one survival chance can negate one instance of game failure."

"Fifth, at least two accumulated survival chances are required to exit the game."

"Sixth, when the Roulette appears before you, there is only a ten-minute countdown."
