Chapter 110 Crazy Evolution
Chapter 110: Chapter 110 Crazy Evolution
"I could have escaped this copy soon after getting the riddle, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find the prop mentioned in it, no matter how hard I looked. In the end, you reaped the benefits,"
"But regardless of who opens the door, as long it’s a prop, killing you will mean it belongs to me anyway."
"Living like this is worse than death for you, so I’ll send you on your way!"
As soon as the words fell, a flying arrow shot down from a high place, aiming straight for Xu Huo’s head!
"Be careful!" Gu Yu cried out in alarm. Just as Xu Huo, who was originally pressing the injured alien on the suspension bridge, turned over suddenly, using it to shield himself, the arrow pierced through the alien’s skull and he caught it with his hand, trapping it in his palm bones!
Kicking away the body of the alien and leaping up, Xu Huo pulled the arrow out from his palm and, swinging his arm for momentum, hurled it towards Lin Pei in front, and he himself quickly followed, moving at an astonishing speed!
Lin Pei frowned and stepped back, and with a thought, the flying arrow reversed direction and attacked Xu Huo once more!
But this time, Xu Huo picked up the Crimson Sword, blocked the flying arrow and kicked Lin Pei in the chest, forcing him to retreat several meters. Just as he was about to thrust the sword down, Lin Pei spun and grabbed Shen Xin who was closest to him, using him as a shield!
Xu Huo paused for a moment, but Shen Xin stabbed Lin Pei in the abdomen with a backhand knife, shouting hatefully, "Die!"
Even in pain, Lin Pei flung Shen Xin toward Gu Yu and the others coming from behind and raised his hand to call the flying arrow back. The players here were no match for him, but Xu Huo, who had transformed into an alien, was clearly much stronger than before. To stay alive, he needed to kill Xu Huo!
However, the Xu Huo facing him seemed to have eyes on the back of his head. He turned and slashed in midair, and the flying arrow, now close at hand, was split in two!
"Ding! Ding!"
The fragments of the flying arrow fell down, striking the iron plates of the suspension bridge before dropping among the Different Species Group below, agitating the aliens beneath into a frenzy. Unable to reach the suspension bridge, several aliens began climbing the fence, reaching the top and then trying to leap onto the bridge!
"Let’s go! Let’s run!" Seeing this, Ke Liang pulled Gu Yu and Shen Xin forward, and said to Gu Yu, "We are powerless now, we must prioritize our lives!"
Gu Yu looked back one more time at Xu Huo, who was confronting Lin Pei, and then gritted his teeth and quickened his pace!
Although there was a distance of several meters on either side of the suspension bridge, the actions of the aliens were still disconcerting. Though they acted on instinct, with so many of them there was no guarantee that some wouldn’t retain a certain level of intelligence!
As Gu Yu and the others became nearly invisible in the distance, Lin Pei realized he couldn’t keep entangled with Xu Huo any longer. He pulled the dagger from his abdomen, threw out a bungee cord to latch onto a steel cable and took to the air, then grabbed a bottle of Self-Healing Potion and poured it haphazardly into his mouth!
But Xu Huo, energizing his legs, used the concave steel plate to boost himself up and grabbed Lin Pei’s ankle in one motion!
The sword in his hand fell down, and at this moment half of Xu Huo’s face had turned bluish-black, and his lips and teeth were also showing signs of assimilation. He opened his mouth to bite at Lin Pei’s calf!
"Let go! Let go!" Lin Pei, holding onto the rope with one hand and a Little Knife with the other, bent over to stab at Xu Huo’s hand. The fact that he didn’t change expression even when two bloody holes appeared in his arm indicated that his mental state was not quite right. In his panic, he yelled, "Aliens eat people! Are you even human anymore?"
Xu Huo’s movements suddenly froze, Lin Pei took the opportunity to kick him away!
Having fallen back onto the drawbridge, Xu Huo’s face twitched, swaying between sanity and madness, he ultimately gave up on killing Lin Pei and turned back towards Fenbei Town!
The moment he stepped out of the encircling wall’s gate, the iron chains of the pulley suddenly snapped, and the hanging gate began to plummet. Inside the gate, Lin Pei watched as Aliens swarmed into Fenbei Town while yelling, "Xu Huo! Just die in Fenbei Town alongside Wu Qiuyi!"
Xu Huo didn’t halt his steps, quickly jumping into the driver seat of the small truck to start the vehicle, kicking away the Alien that appeared at the window, and then he stepped on the accelerator!
The truck surged forward violently, but the cargo bed was still infiltrated by numerous Aliens. Turning the steering wheel sharply, he flung the Aliens scratching from behind the seat, and hearing the thud noises, he turned to look towards the direction of the wall— the flashlight that fell on the ground was aimed straight at the gate, in the flickering shadows, more Aliens kept running out from beneath the descending gate, many had clothing on them, both men and women!
Suddenly, Xu Huo understood the meaning behind the ’mourners’ mentioned in the background of the game being met with furious revenge by the Security Guards and residents!
In Fenbei Town, everyone who was injured by an Alien eventually transformed into one, becoming monstrous creatures neither human nor ghost. However, these monsters were not killed; they were confined within the walls, perhaps for experiments or intentionally, and hence the east gate of the town was not an exit, but an outright trap!
After Master Niese’s death, the people in charge of the town had vanished. If the east gate was opened, a massacre was inevitable. Given the sheer number of Aliens and their hiding behind the massive wall, it was more feasible to quarantine the site than to expend effort exterminating them all.
Earlier, he had found it strange that there were only four Aliens in the town, which wouldn’t have been difficult to kill, yet the residents chose to relocate, leaving these few Aliens behind. The real reason was here!
There was no grave for Master Niese in the town, and his dwelling was previously intact, indicating someone had taken his body. Why take away his body?
There were far too many possibilities.
That short Alien could possibly be Master Niese’s granddaughter, but it was obviously stronger than the other Aliens. Was this individual variability or the result of experiments?
Master Niese must have tried many methods in the process of saving his granddaughter, possibly experimenting on others, and even on himself. If he had indeed discovered the method for perfect evolution, would he not have tried it on himself?
He didn’t want the Hengxing Company to know this method; does that imply the method is still hidden in the town?
Xu Huo twitched once, and in the rear-view mirror, the blue-black veins on his face were spreading towards the right side. Out of control, he grabbed one of the Aliens stuck in the window, barking madly at him, and with one hand, he snapped its neck, then kicked it along with the car out the window!
Seeing the Alien crash into a tree and dying from the car door, which burst open its abdomen, he paused, then forcefully grabbed the other door with his left hand, immediately leaving a handprint on the steel door panel!
Insane evolution!
Whether it was his hearing, sight, strength, speed, or thought, everything about Xu Huo was evolving wildly in a short period. The biological hunting instinct made him crave energy even more during this insane evolution, and this instinct combined with his hunting ability would completely turn him into a monster devoid of humanity!
Throwing a punch at his own face, Xu Huo suppressed the urge to go out and tear apart the Aliens, pressing the accelerator all the way down, he charged into the town with the Aliens continuously climbing onto the cargo bed.
The gas station quickly came into view. He crashed into it with the truck, his immense strength countered the inertia from the imploded front of the vehicle, and he leaped out the front window, clutching the steel frame of the station’s roof. His feet punched a big hole in it, and as he pulled himself up into the air, he ignited his lighter!
