Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 1065: Cherish Life, Speak Less

Chapter 1065: Chapter 1065: Cherish Life, Speak Less

"The aliens seem to be about to come back in full force," Chi Minghong looked up at the bar, "Can this prop hold up?"

Xu Huo didn’t speculate. If the bar could hold, that would be great, but what he was worried about now was whether there would be other dangers in the instance.

Despite being a Rank-B high-risk instance, teleportation into such a place doesn’t consider the player’s level. The game’s purpose is to penalize players who don’t follow the rules, so the instance is likely aimed at Rank-C and lower players, most of whom don’t have very good props, and normally, players should ensure they have tickets to skip instances, unless there are extreme circumstances—or if the player’s own strength is not robust, lacking in both props and strength. Under these circumstances, it’s obviously very difficult to directly confront the Different Species Group, so it’s only logical that the difficulty of this instance would be due to the aliens.

However, the fatality rate in a high-risk instance is definitely higher than that of a standard one. In the normal instances, at least half of the people die each time. Faced with the current situation, like Xu Huo or Chi Minghong, they could resort to cunning methods to avoid the Different Species Group. Escaping wouldn’t be difficult, hence the fatality rate wouldn’t be that high, especially since the flying type of aliens is in the minority.

Considering both situations, Xu Huo leaned more towards the possibility that there’s something more dangerous than the aliens in this instance.

He glanced at the continual Black Rain outside, then turned to Chi Minghong and said, "I’m planning to leave."

Chi Minghong’s leg was injured and they lacked Hovering Items. After pondering for a moment, he said, "I’m afraid I can’t leave; staying here is at least temporarily safe."

Xu Huo nodded and then said to Guan Shu and the others, "I’m going to open the door."

"Mr. Xu, aren’t you staying with us?" Zhou Yuanzhu hastily said, "The more people we have, the stronger we are, isn’t it more dangerous to go out?"

Xu Huo understood their feelings and didn’t say much, simply stating, "Better leave as soon as possible."

But he paused as he turned around, then added, "I can still take two more people with me, who wants to go?"

He was addressing the people from District 002. "World in the Painting" could accommodate two more people and at least ensure they lived for another thirty days. As long as he was safe, there would be no problem getting them out, but it was not clear what other effects entering a container prop might have besides death. So he didn’t ask Chi Minghong; more cautious players would not voluntarily enter another person’s container prop.

Go out?

The mere mention of the word, let alone going outside, where everything was swarming with aliens, would make one’s legs go weak. And so, surveying the crowd, not only did no one step forward, but they even pulled the children further back.

"I..." the girl saved by Chi Minghong whispered softly, "I want to go out."

She not only volunteered but also persuaded Chi Minghong, "Sister, let’s go with him, he’s so capable, he saved us just now in an instant!"

Chi Minghong looked at Xu Huo, who stated, "You’ll have to enter the container prop."

Unless it’s someone absolutely trusted, who would dare entrust their life?

Chi Minghong chuckled, "Then I’d better stay, what if you die, wouldn’t I be trapped alive in the prop? Better take another child with you."

Xu Huo looked at her deeply and, without waiting for someone to volunteer, pointed directly at one of the two children he had saved earlier.

The child was originally eager, but hesitated due to being pulled back by the people around him. Seeing Xu Huo looking at him, he immediately ran forward, touched the frame of the painting purposefully, and then disappeared from everyone’s sight, followed by a cartoon face appearing on the screen.

The girl thought it was fascinating, she came over and said, "Uncle, remember to let us out later, I’m so hungry, I want to eat."

After stowing the two children away, Xu Huo then reopened the door with the help of Ruan Qiyuan and Zhou Yuanzhu, covered himself in the Invisibility Cloak, and fought his way to the shelter, lifting some of the alien corpses piled outside, taking 101, and promptly carrying two children up into the air.

With the children on his back, Xu Huo covered them with a prop garment to mask their scent, used his Evolutionary Power, and moved 200 meters at a time, gradually leaving the grove.

Watching the departing figure, someone couldn’t help but say, "Actually, staying inside the painting doesn’t seem unsafe..."

No one else uttered a word because Xu Huo had already left their line of sight. Whether he had escaped or was shot down by the aliens was beyond their knowing.

The "Gentleman’s Stance" could move up and down but not horizontally, so Xu Huo had a brief moment of freefalling with each move. He compensated for this gap with his instrument’s strings, which was just perfect as the children weren’t very heavy.

By the time they had left the grove and Xu Huo looked back, the adjusted Different Species Group had begun to surge into the woods again, some of the more frenzied aliens even killing their own kind in their advance, ferociously abnormal.

"Can they still get out?" the boy on his back suddenly asked.

"It depends on luck," Xu Huo knew he was a smart kid, staying in the shelter for so long, he hadn’t unwrapped the cloth bound to him and kept the baby in his arms, so when the props were being collected, he could be briskly taken away.

"What was your name before?"

"Tan Qi," the boy answered his question, then asked, "Are you taking me to experiment on me too?"

Xu Huo chuckled, "What’s there to experiment on with you? Didn’t Doctor Zhang tell you when he left, that none of you kids have finished your apprenticeship?"

"He’s not a teacher." Tan Qi lowered his voice, "If you want to know, I can tell you what I know."

"Didn’t you tell everything to the lab people?" Xu Huo showed no excitement.

"They’re all dumb, easy to fool," Tan Qi said, "But you’re different, I feel like I can’t fool you."

"If you know you can’t fool me then don’t lie," Xu Huo replied, "That is a habit you need to change."

Tan Qi’s face hardened but he didn’t retort, instead he asked, "Did you finish your apprenticeship?"

Xu Huo stopped, "Say less, cherish life."

Tan Qi smartly closed his mouth.

Soon, they left the range of the Different Species Group. Outside the grove, this more open area was higher; at the end, there was a rift with a drop of about three hundred meters. Looking around, aside from a few low hills standing scattered, the rest was parched, cracked earth with no signs of flora or fauna, not to mention the temperature was higher than in the plains and woods across the valley, so hot that even standing at the edge one could feel the suffocating heat.

Xu Huo gave Tan Qi a bottle of water, then entered the cracked earth zone.

Below the high temperatures, all the land in sight looked baked, the cracked earth like a plethora of spots, with the soil looking dry and charred down to a depth of one to two meters.

Xu Huo raised his hand: the Black Rain here was denser than in the woods.
