Chapter 1029 Autonomous Action of the Shadow Personality

Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029 Autonomous Action of the Shadow Personality

The shadows that committed murder and caught the bomb originated from the same place—the short figure standing ten meters away.

Compared to the other two fully formed personalities, this one, representing his childhood, had always remained in shadow form, not aligning with the other two. Xu Huo believed this was due to childhood memory loss, weakening his control over this personality and also concealing an uncertainty—he could not fully control his past or even his own body.

Uncontrollability is the root of all danger.

Now, this shadow representing his childhood stood before him, unchanged in appearance, but capable of autonomous action beyond his control.

He gazed at the Shadow Personality, and the Shadow Personality "gazed" back at him.

A moment later, the shadow came forward with the bomb and the corpse, setting them down gently one after the other, before retreating back into the Shadow Personality.

The silent "staring" continued, both parties maintaining their initial poses without any movement.

The Spiritual World gradually expanded, no longer confined to a corner but slowly materializing an entire library.

When the complete library appeared, the Shadow Personality facing Xu Huo suddenly appeared on the second floor and quickly dashed through one of the doors.

Xu Huo frowned at that moment, checked the other two personalities to confirm there were no changes, and then summoned the Materialized Item representing his personality.

The table reappeared in the library, with his present White Shelled Book still pressing down on the other three Materialized Items below it: the dagger, a deck of cards, and a black thin slice. The cards and dagger remained unchanged, but the black thin slice had grown a bit longer.

The reason why the Shadow Personality was at the bottom was that it had not fully complied at birth, but now, it seemed that this suppression was loosening.

The four personalities in the Spiritual World did not mean Xu Huo truly had split into four personalities; this was merely a fast approach for Evolution, indicating that he couldn’t fully control his Psychic Power. The gaps in his memory posed a significant risk, which is why he had, consciously or unconsciously, facilitated this four-personality scenario.

It appeared he had four personalities, but he still controlled the Spiritual World. The autonomous actions of the Shadow Personality proved his previous arrangements were correct; if the personalities were not divided, seizing control of the Spiritual World would lead to even more uncontrollable situations.

Clearly, the development of the Shadow Personality had far exceeded his expectations. Xu Huo still couldn’t directly kill with Psychic Power, yet it could.

This could be seen as a sign of his memories gradually unlocking, or perhaps as another self being awoken through external intervention... It could be taken as both good and bad.

After standing beside the table for a while, Xu Huo called the other two personalities, manipulating his own Materialized Items to compress the Shadow Personality’s Materialized Item back to its original size: he didn’t have time to deal with it now, it had to be postponed.

After re-concealing the table, he began checking the belongings of the bespectacled man.

The long nail Prop that could puncture the barrier formed by the Spatial Artifact was broken; it could only be recycled.

The other Rank-A Props included:

[Backstab: Please note that it is shapeless, which means that neither the bearer nor the target can see it. Thanks to the cautious properties added by the Artifact Maker, it will only attack from behind, even if it cannot be seen directly by the eyes, and it is portable and does not require special cleaning. This weapon is highly praised by those who have used it, limited to three uses per day.]

[Ideal Skin: A layer of defense clothing that is almost weightless when worn, colorless and transparent, allowing the Player to maintain elegance from hair to underwear. Usage time limit: three minutes.]

[Everything Wants to Slice: A hair-thin Prop with Space-Time properties that can cut through anything it can sever.]

[Horizontal Tailoring: A masterpiece from an Artifact Maker who once worked at a clothing design company; with it, one will never worry about the lack of a standard horizontal line within a hundred meters radius.]

[A Well Not Meant to Be Looked Into Alone: A deep well that is easy to fall into and hard to climb out of. Establishing a danger sign near the well seldom prevents onlookers from falling. When there is only one onlooker, the probability of falling greatly increases.]

These Props, except for the well, have all been used by the bespectacled man, among which "Backstab" nearly inflicted severe injuries on Xu Huo once. If the "Unassailable Territory" was not a Rank-A Prop, it would be hard to withstand such a strike. Of course, apart from the ranking, just the fact that it is intangible is enough to trouble many Players. Xu Huo managed to dodge it the two latter times, thanks to his greatly increased control over surrounding spaces under the dual Evolution of psychic and spatial powers.

"Ideal Skin" is not technically clothing but a transparent protective barrier. Although it only lasts for three minutes, the advantage is that it can be continuously used. "Unassailable Territory" may be used an unlimited number of times, but with a restart every three seconds, it is prone to disadvantage in combat.

The two Props complement each other perfectly.

"Everything Wants to Slice" is not very convenient to use, but as a Space-Time Item, it can confront other Props of the same type and rank. Of course, what interests Xu Huo the most is that it can shred portals within the Spiritual World, indicating it can resist products of Spirit Evolution to some extent.

Can Props directly destroy objects within the Spiritual World, indicating these objects still have space for Evolution?

Of course, this is just a thought and cannot be tried yet.

"Horizontal Tailoring," needless to say, is a prop very suitable for traps.

As for "A Well Not Meant to Be Looked Into Alone," it can be placed in an instance scenario. Such Props, flagrantly displayed, are unlikely to deceive anyone.

Five Rank-A Props, each one a fine piece.

Next, there are Rank-B Props used by the bespectacled man: "Fiery Knuckles" that can emit heat waves, "Psychic Evolver’s Exclusive Channel" specifically targeting Psychic Evolvers, "Near Ground Hover" for short aerial movement, "Fast-damage Ice Ball" for quick freezing, "Gravity Compression" to restrict movement, an invisible "Light Travel Bag" for carrying bombs, "Mini Firecrackers" for a one-time group attack, "Slightly Faster" for short-term acceleration, and "Invisible Grid" a moving Defense Prop, among others.

These were all clearly identified props used in combat by Xu Huo, and others like increasing strength, altering movement direction, changing ground friction, restricting opponent speed, and specifically controlling opponent limbs varied in multitude and rank, including some which were special items, most of which were not very remarkable.

The only one comparable to those Rank-A props was a special item that could save lives in critical situations, named "Kitty Grants You Three Lives".
