Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Unless You Can Beat Me

Dozens of the Emperor Clan’s sixth-rank powerhouses, equivalent to Human Clan Divine Kings, included individuals with exceptional talents, extraordinary Bloodline Power, and some who had even comprehended powerful innate abilities. Each one who stepped forward was capable of sweeping an entire region. Yet now, despite striking together, they surprisingly couldn’t handle Chen Pingping. Instead, he seriously wounded them with two sword strikes.

Guang Xiaoyu wasn’t the only one stupefied; the group of Wilderness tribe powerhouses watching the battle were equally stunned. Is this normal?

Guang Xiaoyu came to her senses, a sharp light flickering in her eyes. "Such a powerful Sword Dao."

Damn it! Senior Brother actually hadn’t taught her.

The Demon Emperor’s heart stirred with anticipation.

The Elder was also stunned speechless by the scene before him. After a long pause, he finally recovered, recalling Chen Pingping’s earlier words: "Have the Sacred Soldiers been brought?" That wasn’t sarcasm; it was confidence.

He scanned the battlefield. Dozens of Emperor Clan experts were all severely injured, including their young genius Huo Yan. But there was still one person, Jin Qiongyu...

The Elder angrily reprimanded, "Why didn’t you make a move?"

Jin Qiongyu was startled. "Elder, I..."

Against such a powerful Human Clan Divine King, did it even matter if she intervened?

But in the Elder’s eyes, her inaction was tantamount to abandoning the Emperor Clan’s position, even hinting at defection.

For a moment, Jin Qiongyu didn’t know how to explain herself.

However, the maid couldn’t help retorting, "Even Mr. Huo Yan couldn’t defeat him; do you think Miss has a chance?"

SLAP!

The Elder struck out with his palm.

With his late-stage sixth-rank power, the maid had no chance to resist. He killed her instantly, reducing her to a bloody pulp.

Jin Qiongyu stood there dazed.

"Indeed, those not of our blood are always outsiders," the Elder said coldly. "Jin Qiongyu... I saw through your conspiracy long ago. You colluded with the Human Clan to steal the Fire Tribe’s treasures, and now you want to ally with the Human Clan to trap and kill our Fire Tribe experts, including Mr. Huo Yan. Heh..."

With that, he lunged at her.

Jin Qiongyu didn’t resist; her heart was like dead cinders, her face deathly pale.

She, collude with the Human Clan to steal the tribe’s most precious treasure?

When Chen Pingping had broken into the ancestral lands, she was the one who had desperately tried to send a warning. Now, she was being branded the criminal.

Accused of allying with the Human Clan to kill Fire Tribe experts?

Heh! What an outrageous accusation to level.

The Fire Tribe Elder, flying into a rage from shame, killed Jin Qiongyu’s maid and then heavily injured Jin Qiongyu herself. This scene astonished everyone present.

Jin Qiongyu was a genius, no matter what. Is this how the Emperor Clan treats its geniuses?

"Human Clan cultivator, you have thoroughly enraged our tribe!" the Elder spat out a final, harsh remark before staggering away with his heavily injured kinsmen.

Chen Pingping did not stop them.

Outside the ancient town, Guang Xiaoyu was secretly anxious. She knew there was something up with this woman, Jin Qiongyu, but... it couldn’t be betraying the Fire Tribe.

This plotline is wrong.

If Jin Qiongyu had truly betrayed the Fire Tribe, she would have fought back just now, instead of silently enduring the Elder’s severe blow.

How pitiful.

Guang Xiaoyu sighed softly and immediately strode forward with a smile. "Senior Brother!"

"Huh?" Chen Pingping reacted. "What are you doing here?"

"Just passing by," she blinked and said cheerily. "So, Senior Brother, you’re a Divine King."

"Not at all!" Chen Pingping replied. "Just now, I summoned our Master. She possessed me and fought using my body. Um... speaking of which, what are you doing here?"

Guang Xiaoyu rolled her eyes. "Keep spinning your tales." She paused, then added, "Senior Brother, you could have saved her just now."

Regarding this, Chen Pingping said helplessly, "She is a young genius of the Fire Tribe, after all. If I had intervened to save her, wouldn’t that have cemented her crime of betraying the Emperor Clan? I’m afraid she would have no place left for her in the Wasteland then."

"You could have brought her back with us," Guang Xiaoyu blinked.

"What are you planning?" Chen Pingping glared at her and asked irritably, "Where have you been all this time?"

"I was in closed-door cultivation."

"Oh? And to what level have you advanced?"

"Second level of the Supreme Mystery Realm. Ugh... And to think I once planned on helping Senior Brother with his cultivation! I never imagined Senior Brother was actually a Divine King."

Guang Xiaoyu said with a look of grievance, "Senior Brother, you’ve hidden yourself so well!"

Fortunately, Divine Body Chen Shixian wasn’t here; otherwise, the expression on his face would have been priceless.

"Let’s talk somewhere else," Chen Pingping’s eyes darted around.

「On a deserted mountainside, a gentle breeze rustled, and a few fallen leaves danced in the air.」

After Chen Pingping explained the reasons, Guang Xiaoyu’s mouth fell open in disbelief. "So? You agreed to him?"

"I had no reason to refuse," Chen Pingping said.

After all, there was still a system quest. He absolutely had to obtain the Devouring Sky Beast, so... pulling the sword from that senior’s body was something he had to do.

However, he was now feeling a twinge of regret.

Guang Xiaoyu’s expression grew serious. "The Boundary Monument is no paradise! It’s a terrifying Life Prohibited Zone; even Emperor Clan experts wouldn’t dare to tread there lightly."

"I know," Chen Pingping sighed. "Don’t spread this around."

"I always thought Senior Brother was steady and low-profile, not one to chase fame or fortune. Why did you act this time? So that was it!" Guang Xiaoyu smiled. "But... even if you have Sacred Soldiers, you might not be able to enter that place."

"How so?"

"That’s a minor realm, with entrances that are like channels, or perhaps some rifts. Sacred Soldiers can only enhance your chances of survival; they can’t actually get you into the Boundary Monument’s true territory," Guang Xiaoyu explained.

"How do you know this?" he asked, surprised.

"Oh!" Guang Xiaoyu chuckled sheepishly. "I heard it from some old-timers."

Chen Pingping didn’t believe her for a second. He had told Guang Xiaoyu these things so casually precisely because he felt something was off about her.

The lands of the Human Clan had no heritage of Demon cultivators, yet she practiced such arts. This indicated her origins were suspect.

And sure enough... just one question had exposed a major issue: she knew an incredible amount about the Boundary Monument.

Chen Pingping fell into thought.

She then added, "Not long ago, something fell out of the Boundary Monument. There must be some problem within, which might present a good opportunity."

"I heard about that—some fragmented Divine Weapons." He looked up. "Perhaps people are fighting in there."

"There’s more..." Guang Xiaoyu’s eyes burned intensely.

The disturbance in the Boundary Monument region has been too great. Now, geniuses from all across the Wasteland have gathered here. If things unfold as expected, a terrifying storm is about to erupt.

Guang Xiaoyu speculated that those who had warred over this land in ancient times might reawaken and return to the battlefields of old.

In the past, she would definitely have stayed far away, or found a corner to observe silently.

But things were different now. Senior Brother was going to venture deep into the Boundary Monument to pull the sword from that senior. Well... he had made a promise, after all, and couldn’t very well go back on his word!

Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but ask, "Senior Brother, why are you so fond of raising small animals?"

"The Devouring Sky Beast is not a ’small animal’!" Chen Pingping rolled his eyes.

"And the chicken?"

"I feel it’s very sentient."

"Hei?"

"Hei has a very surprising background."

"Lao Huang?"

"Ask him yourself." How could he possibly explain these things?

Was he supposed to tell Guang Xiaoyu that he wasn’t from this world? Right, that he had something called a ’system’ inside him, and that the Devouring Sky Beast was a system quest? And that this included Lao Huang and Hei?

"Senior Brother, how about this? Let me take care of Lao Huang and Hei. What do you think?" she blinked, a cunning glint in her eyes.

Chen Pingping looked at her. "Only if you can beat me."
