It's Your Turn To Cry and Beg, Dear Uncle
Chapter 59: Meeting Old Classmates

Chapter 59: Meeting Old Classmates

In the end, not only did James smack his three friends in front of Kyra, but he also decided not to sign the business partnership deal between his and his friends’ company for a certain project.

More precisely, he postponed the confirmation he had already given a few days prior. James made things difficult for Anthony, Harvey, and Orlando, especially if they wanted him to continue collaborating with them.

One of the conditions, of course, was to fulfill Kyra’s every request. For example, right after breakfast, Kyra immediately sprang into action, dragging her brothers off to go shopping.

They knew Kyra wasn’t the type who enjoyed shopping like most women. For her, walking around a mall just to look at clothes was exhausting. Not to mention the frustration of having to try on outfits one by one. She’d much rather stay home, lying in bed while reading a novel or watching a movie.

However, this time was different. To give her brothers a hard time, Kyra was determined to thoroughly enjoy shopping at luxury malls. Yes, not just one mall—she would drag her brothers to several until they were utterly fed up.

In order to maximize her revenge, she even called a backup to help her.

Orlando’s eyes narrowed as he spotted a familiar figure approaching them in the Central Park Mall lobby. Isn’t that Kyra’s clumsy and rude editor? he thought.

Raising an eyebrow, Orlando asked, "Why is she here? Didn’t we agree to satisfy only you, Little Sis?"

Kyra clicked her tongue and folded her arms across her chest. "Yes, that’s right, and Valeria is part of your apology package! So make sure she’s satisfied too if you want my forgiveness."

Anthony and Harvey immediately frowned, their expressions souring as they watched Valeria jogging toward them in a simple t-shirt and skinny jeans. Despite her casual outfit, she looked cheerful and pleasing to the eye, though not to the three men standing beside Kyra.

They didn’t mind pampering their little sister, even if it cost them hundreds of millions!

They didn’t mind carrying shopping bags filled with women’s clothes as long as they were Kyra’s!

But this? Serving someone else, especially Valeria, a woman they’d only met yesterday and barely spoken to?

Absolutely not!

Noticing her brothers’ expressions, Kyra felt a sense of satisfaction. Hmph! You thought it’d be easy? I know you don’t mind spoiling me, but what about someone else?

That’s why Kyra brought Valeria along as her accomplice. Besides, Valeria was naturally stylish and loved shopping. At least Kyra wouldn’t be bored or overwhelmed while punishing her brothers. She had someone who was truly skilled at spending money!

"Kyra!!" Valeria immediately hugged Kyra as soon as she reached her. Kyra, who had only recently recovered and was still feeling a bit sore, nearly lost her balance from the force of Valeria’s hug.

Orlando, Anthony, and Harvey’s eyes widened instantly. "Hey!" the three shouted in unison. Orlando quickly steadied Kyra from behind, while the other two pulled Valeria away without hesitation.

"Act properly, will you? Don’t go shoving other people’s sisters around. If Kyra ends up back in the hospital, I’ll make sure you stay there with her," Orlando threatened, his dislike for Valeria rising even further. His glare was so sharp it seemed like he wanted to tear her apart.

Valeria shivered under his intense gaze and immediately lowered her head. "I’m sorry, Kyra. I didn’t mean to. I just missed you so much!"

"Even if you missed her, you should still be careful! You know exactly why Kyra was hospitalized the other day," Anthony scolded, his tone reflecting his growing irritation with Valeria.

Harvey silently clicked his tongue and shook his head, though he said nothing. Valeria could tell he disapproved of her actions just as much.

But before anyone could say more, Kyra jumped in to defend her friend. "Why are you ganging up on my friend? I only stepped back a little—it’s not like I was about to fall. I didn’t even say anything, so why are you all making such a fuss?"

As sharply as Orlando had glared at Valeria, Kyra now turned that same intensity on her three brothers. But instead of feeling offended, the three men struggled to suppress their laughter as they watched their much shorter sister scolding them furiously.

It felt like watching a chihuahua fiercely protecting its pup—utterly adorable!

Valeria, noticing their expressions, was left speechless. Though their faces remained stoic, the spark in their eyes betrayed their amusement.

Valeria pressed her lips together in irritation. What a bunch of sister-complex weirdos! Annoying! Fine, I’ll make sure to bankrupt all of you today.

Initially, she had approached them feeling uneasy, planning to hold back even though Kyra had encouraged her to shop to her heart’s content. But after this incident, any hesitation she’d felt disappeared completely. She was determined to show these men the true meaning of being a shopaholic.

With an overly sweet smile, Valeria said, "It’s fine. I was being too hasty earlier. Your brothers aren’t entirely wrong."

Kyra furrowed her brows. "But—"

Valeria cut her off. "Enough, let’s go. We don’t want to waste any more time."

The moment Kyra heard that, her brain immediately connected the dots to Valeria’s intentions.

Kyra had always been an introverted girl. She could become good friends with Valeria in the first place because their personalities and mindsets were quite similar, so she understood her friend’s evil motives almost instantly.

They might appear tame on the surface but only both of them knew each other’s dark side.

So, there was no need for Kyra to keep defending her friend—Valeria would handle these three men herself. Realizing this, Kyra tried to stifle her laughter and decided to play along.

Still keeping up her angry façade, Kyra pretended to give in. "Fine then, let’s go." She proceeded to link arm with Valeria affectionately.

Orlando sighed internally, still reluctant to spend money on someone he barely knew. But he quickly brushed it off. He kept reminding himself that this was all to make his sister happy.

As long as Kyra was satisfied and no longer upset with them, it was worth it. Money could always be earned again, but Kyra was their one and only.

Afterward, they began their shopping spree on the ground floor, mostly occupied by renowned fashion brands such as Alaïa, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Louboutin, Elie Saab, and more. Conveniently, Central Park Mall was the third largest in the capital, offering a wide selection of high-end clothing stores.

Valeria felt as if she had stepped into heaven as she walked among the luxurious shops, and today, she wasn’t just passing by—she would go in and buy! It felt like a dream!

Valeria glanced at her friend again with teary eyes. Honestly, what good deed had she done in her past to deserve being blessed with such a wealthy friend like Kyra?

She was just an ordinary employee. Though her salary as an editor was higher than the minimum wage, it was still far from allowing her to shop extravagantly. There was still rent, electricity, water bills, and other expenses to consider. She wouldn’t say her life was a struggle, but it wasn’t exactly carefree either.

"Oh, I don’t even know where to start!" Valeria exclaimed excitedly, still holding Kyra tightly by the arm.

Kyra herself was confused. Although she was quite familiar with branded items since James and her brothers often bought them for her, she didn’t really know much because most of her clothes were custom-tailored.

Usually, James would handle these matters, so Kyra never had to bother going around shopping. Honestly, Kyra only had one condition when it came to choosing clothes: they had to be comfortable and fit her well.

She despised having to diet just to fit into an outfit or wearing fabric that irritated her skin. If that happened, no matter how famous the brand was or how beautiful the design was, Kyra wouldn’t be interested. She was just as content buying from regular clothing stores as long as her conditions were met.

Anthony rolled his eyes impatiently as he watched Valeria looking around indecisively, considering which store to enter first.

Meanwhile, Harvey chimed in, "Typical girl—so complicated. They’re all the same; just pick one and go in! Or are we going to stand here all day?"

Kyra frowned, but before she could scold her brother, Valeria had already grabbed her and dragged her into one of the stores.

The moment they entered, the staff warmly greeted them, and Valeria wasted no time. Her eyes scanned the racks like a high-tech scanner, quickly locking onto her targets. In no time, ten pieces of clothing were already in the hands of two sales assistants.

The three men sitting in the waiting-area were dumbfounded by Valeria’s speed and efficiency in picking out clothes.

"Alright, let’s start with these! Let’s go try them on!" Valeria exclaimed, pulling Kyra toward the fitting rooms.

All of the sudden, Kyra felt herself getting nervous as she imagined how many outfits she’d have to try on today. Her head instantly felt dizzy. She had planned this shopping trip to punish her brothers, but why did it feel like she was the one being punished?

In the end, Kyra reluctantly forced herself to try on some of the outfits. Initially, she wasn’t interested at all, but as soon as she tried on a top paired with a high-waisted skirt, her eyes lit up.

She looked elegant, and the cut accentuated her figure beautifully. The high-waisted design highlighted her curves, and her legs appeared long and slender underneath the skirt.

Excitedly, Kyra set that outfit aside and immediately tried on another—a mini bodycon dress Valeria had chosen.

The result was the same. The black bodycon dress hugged Kyra’s figure perfectly. She had never seen herself look like this before because James typically chose modest, simple styles for her. She had never worn clothes with bold cuts or patterns, let alone ones that highlighted her curves and long legs.

Kyra smiled and stepped out to show the dress to her brothers and Valeria. However, as soon as she emerged, the store staff informed her that one of her brothers was on a phone call, and the other two had gone to buy drinks.

Meanwhile, Valeria was still busy in the fitting room. Kyra decided to wait.

The store staff served her well, offering some light snacks and a cup of tea. Kyra enjoyed the refreshments while scrolling through her phone until someone called her name.

"Kyra?"

Kyra looked up, but she immediately regretted it when she saw a group of people standing in front of her.

Even though Kyra had been relatively quiet and reserved during her college years, she was still familiar with the faces of her classmates—especially Gladys and her cousin, Hazel.

"It’s been a long time since we last met. Who are you here with?" asked Gladys, her eyes already darting around, and Kyra knew exactly who Gladys was hoping to see.

Her gaze involuntarily darkened.
