Chapter 202: The Unknown Class ( 202 )

"Oi. Furry beard."

The words hit the clearing like a bomb.

Wha!?

Dozens of heads turned.

The entire guild crew froze mid-task.

Even Gikan, seasoned Level 79, once an A-rank adventurer and now Deputy Guild Master of Macia, paused mid-breath.

He blinked.

"...Furry... beard?"

Hazuki pointed straight at him, chewing lazily.

"Yeah. You. Furry beard. That drake meat?"

He tapped the side of his temple with two fingers.

"Once it’s dismantled—I want the meat. Got it? For my dinner. So meat is mine. Everything else, you take."

Silence.

Pure, stunned silence.

One of the junior staff members whispered behind a crate.

"...Did he just claim meat from an A-class monster...?"

Another muttered, "He’s not scared of Gikan at all..."

Gikan slowly lowered the paperwork in his hands, staring at Hazuki.

"...You just called me... furry beard?"

Hazuki didn’t blink.

"Yeah. You. Make sure once it’s dismantled—the meat is mine."

He jabbed a finger toward the Abyss Drake’s corpse like he was claiming a seat in a tavern.

"I wanna grill it."

Then he raised both arms slightly, eyes gleaming.

"Right, Ridan? Under the fire... spice it... put some salt... let it sizzle... then cook it slow. Yummy~"

Ridan instantly spun into an excited loop above his head, leaving behind tiny wisps of spirit mist.

"YEAH!! That’s my Hazuki!!"

"Drake steak night, baby!!"

Hazuki nodded.

"Grill that meat crispy...yummy yum yum!"

Gikan let out a long, deep sigh.

He turned toward the nearest guild staff and commanded, "Tell the dismantlers later... the Drake meat is not for sale."

The staff blinked, surprised.

"Yes, Deputy Guild Master."

Gikan’s gaze sharpened.

"Mark it. Separate it. Preserve it properly. And if I hear anyone trying to take a bite — they’re done."

"Understood."

He straightened his coat with a brisk shake.

"Now... continue your work."

"Yes, sir!" the staff responded eagerly, jolting back into action.

The crew resumed their tasks—organizing the monster pile, rolling crates forward.

Ridan floated beside him, humming softly.

"You’re really gonna eat drake steak tonight, huh?"

"Damn right I am," Hazuki said confidently, a grin spreading across his face.

Gikan smirked.

He exhaled lightly—then activated his hidden aura skill.

A sudden shockwave of pressure burst from his body—dense, invisible force radiating outward like ripples through the air.

The workers, staff, and even a few adventurers nearby immediately buckled.

Some dropped to one knee. Others clenched their jaws, sweat dripping as they tried to endure the crushing aura.

One appraiser dropped his pen.

Another whispered, "What... is this...!?"

But in the middle of the pressure zone—

Hazuki sat on a log.

Still chewing.

Completely unfazed.

He shifted slightly and scratched his butt, then continued mumbling to the air.

"Do you think that meat’s good with black pepper?"

He paused, nodded slightly.

"Oh? Yeah... agree. Black pepper is expensive."

Another chew.

"So... honey?"

"Mm... expensive, but good for cooking. And drink. And sweet."

He tapped his chin with the back of his hand.

"Huh? Wine, huh? Sizzle the meat in it...?"

A slow grin.

"Oh... herb? Yeah, we’ll try variety of it. Roast it with garlic. Maybe cinnamon on the tail end."

Gikan’s eye twitched.

He didn’t even notice...

Gikan slowly deactivated his aura skill.

The heavy pressure in the air vanished instantly.

The guild staff began to breathe again.

Some collapsed backward, others clutched their knees.

A few just stared blankly at the sky, rethinking their life choices.

Hazuki blinked, looking around casually from his log.

Still chewing.

Still scratching his butt lazily.

"Huh?"

He tilted his head.

"Why is everyone on the ground?"

Silence.

Then he squinted, eyes lazily scanning the dirt.

"Wait..." he leaned forward slightly, still seated.

"Did someone drop a coin or something?"

He looked around with mild curiosity, completely unaware he’d just ignored one of the most crushing aura skills in the guild’s arsenal.

Gikan stood there, arms crossed, trying very hard not to scream internally.

...I give up.

Inside Gikan’s mind...

This human...

He resisted my aura like it was a soft breeze. Didn’t even flinch. Didn’t sweat. Just scratched his damn butt and kept talking about spices.

He needs to be evaluated. His level... his actual combat ability. If this guy is that resistant to pressure, he could be a top-tier solo adventurer.

An asset.

He crossed his arms again, watching Hazuki casually poke at the ground with a stick.

But how the hell am I supposed to get him to agree to a rank test?

He doesn’t care about guild recognition. Didn’t even care about the goblin settlement reward. Probably sulking because he brought the wrong ear and the guild rejected it.

Gikan slowly approached, cautiously.

"Mister Hazuki?"

Hazuki didn’t look up.

"Hmm?"

"May I see your Adventurer Card?"

Hazuki paused mid-chew, eyes narrowing.

"Huh? For what?"

Gikan kept his voice calm.

"I just need to see something."

Hazuki immediately stood up—suspicious.

"No way! You just want to see how much money I saved in the bank! Nope! Not happening!"

"Ah, no—" Gikan raised his hands. "I just want to check your status. Your rank, level—"

"Same thing!!" Hazuki snapped, pointing at him.

"You check the level, then you check the stats... and then you peek at how many gold I have saved. Then you hack it!! And you TAKE it!!"

A beat of silence.

"...Hack... it?" Gikan blinked.

Hazuki froze.

"Ah... nothing!!" He quickly turned away and tried to whistle.

"Ah no, Mister Hazuki." Gikan raised both hands again, keeping his voice steady.

"I just want to see the level and status. You can hold the card yourself. You can even hide the bank info if you’re worried."

Hazuki squinted at him, suspicious.

Gikan continued patiently.

"Besides, you already know—every time a guild processes a transaction, we need to see the card. Right?"

Hazuki blinked.

"Ah... that’s true."

Gikan nodded.

"That means we can’t withdraw any of your savings without you being there. The system won’t allow it."

Hazuki stared for a second longer.

"Oh..."

Then, with a sigh, he reached into his belt pouch and pulled out his adventurer card plate, tossing it lazily toward Gikan.

Gikan caught it.

And immediately froze.

Hazekaya Hazuki

Inside Gikan’s mind—

Level 56!?

He resisted my aura at 56!? I’m a Level 79 former A-rank...!

What the hell is this "Spirit Talker" class!? It’s not even in the guild registry!!

Then his eyes drifted further.

Spirit Link!? What does that even mean!? And why is HP... hidden!?

His gaze locked onto the mana field.

A strange, foreign symbol glowed softly.

He stared at it.

Blinked.

What the hell is that symbol!? What kind of number is that!?

"...Umm... Mister Hazuki?" he asked, barely holding back the panic.

Hazuki scratched the back of his head, totally relaxed.

"Hmm? Yeah?"
