Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Etched in the Heart

Love, like a burning flame, can warm your heart and bring joy to your mind and body.

In the villa’s kitchen, Yusuf Zuck picked vegetables while Ruth Wilcox stir-fried them. The two of them had a clear division of labor, working together like a married couple managing household affairs, in perfect coordination without any awkwardness or strangeness.

Fried prawns, stir-fried clams, steamed hairy crabs, chives and bean sprouts, sour cucumber with ham.

Although Ruth Wilcox did not cook often, she still knew how to stir-fry dishes.

If a woman says she cannot cook, it only means she is lazy and doesn’t like to study. As with everything, practice makes perfect, just like cooking rice. If you don’t get it right the first time, can you still not get it right after eight or ten tries?

The same goes for stir-frying. You might add too much salt the first time, but can you still add too much after ten times?

Therefore, a woman who claims she can’t cook or stir-fry is simply lazy.

Music began to play in the living room. The overhead lights were turned off, leaving only a dim dining light. After busily cooking for nearly an hour, the two finally sat down face to face.

Ruth Wilcox’s villa had a collection of fine red wine, so she suggested drinking red wine and brought out six bottles at once.

Tonight, she truly intended to drink to her heart’s content.

"To celebrate our acquaintance, we must finish this first glass," Ruth Wilcox said, smiling as she raised her glass. She had been irritated at the office all day, but after walking around the supermarket with Yusuf Zuck and then coming home to cook together, her anger had dissipated.

"Alright, cheers!" Yusuf Zuck gently clinked glasses with Ruth Wilcox and then downed his drink.

"The second glass!" Yusuf Zuck poured another round for Ruth Wilcox, filling the glass to the brim. Although it’s not customary to fill a wine glass so full when drinking red wine, the two of them weren’t concerned about formalities at the moment.

"For the second glass, thanks for the spicy hot pot!" Ruth Wilcox didn’t wait for Yusuf Zuck to speak and once again finished her drink in one gulp.

"Heh heh." Yusuf Zuck also chuckled and continued to toast with her.

"For the third glass, thank you for not letting me get kidnapped..."

"The fourth glass, thanks for helping me put my underpants on inside out."

"The fifth glass, Tyler Nash did a good job."

"The sixth glass, congratulations on becoming your own boss now."

"The seventh glass, congratulations on becoming a millionaire..."

Each time Yusuf Zuck filled her glass, Ruth Wilcox would down it in one go, and Yusuf Zuck silently accompanied her.

She was feeling down and wanted to drink!

"For the eighth glass, it’s your turn to make a toast," Ruth Wilcox said, her face already red. They had drunk too quickly, the glasses were too large, and after seven rounds each, nearly three bottles were emptied.

Yusuf Zuck raised his glass, and Ruth Wilcox gazed at him with a merry smile. She always felt at ease when they were together.

"Thank you for... storming into my Heart," Yusuf Zuck touched his chest and then finished his drink in one swallow.

"Tsk, what sweet talk," Ruth Wilcox teased Yusuf Zuck with a playful spit. His words were both touching and heartwarming—a true smooth talker.

"Would you dance with me?" Ruth Wilcox asked with fluttering big eyes, after downing eight glasses of wine.

"I’m not very good at it, and if I step on your feet, you can’t blame me," Yusuf Zuck scratched his head and said.

"I’ll teach you..." Ruth Wilcox extended her hand.

Yusuf Zuck reached out his hand, and their warm palms met. They moved beyond the dining table and stood in the middle of the living room, looking into each other’s eyes, their hands clasped together.

"Yusuf Zuck, do you know?" Accompanied by the music, the two of them slowly danced in the dim living room, and she looked into his eyes and said, "All these years, no man has ever come this close to me, and no man has made me instinctively want to draw near, to explore. You’re the first, and the only one."

Yusuf suddenly realized that she was very bold tonight, as some things she normally wouldn’t dare to say were now coming out of her mouth.

"This is destiny, the destiny between us," Yusuf whispered.

"Such a wonderful destiny," she softly said, also feeling Yusuf’s firm and warm palm, sensing the breath of his masculine hormones.

Gradually, without realizing it, she rested her head on his chest, intoxicated, and closed her eyes to quietly ask, "Do you like me?"

Yusuf, smelling the faint scent on her, feeling her inexplicable heat tonight, suddenly paused and lifted her head to kiss her.

That’s right, he didn’t answer whether he liked her; he just wanted to kiss her.

She struggled slightly and dodged, but ultimately couldn’t escape his strong embrace.

He kissed her lips, a taste of sweetness, a hint of fragrance, which made his soul instantly leave his body.

She hesitantly opened her lips, clumsy, bewildered, yet passionately intertwined with his.

She held him tight, and cried. Tears rolled down between his neck, wetting his lips.

"Drink with me..." Maybe only a moment had passed, or perhaps ten minutes, but she suddenly pushed him away, turned, and sat back at the dining table, picking up the glass to drink it all in one gulp again.

"If you drink any more, you’ll really be drunk," Yusuf said, walking behind her and suddenly hugging her waist.

Ruth felt very warm, and the restlessness and heartbeat made her feel as if she was taking flight, embarking on a wondrous journey, never before experienced, never before felt.

She didn’t resist his embrace, or rather, today she was mentally prepared because she wanted him to hold her tight too.

"You have to drink too." She filled her glass and raised it.

Yusuf let her go, took the glass, and drained it.

"Continue." She poured another for herself, drank it, and then poured one for Yusuf, which he also drank.

Soon, the sixth bottle of wine was finished, and both of them burped at the same time!

"Haha, get more wine with me," she laughed heartily, her drunken eyes seductive. In that moment, she exuded a woman’s boldness and unrestraint.

Another six bottles of red wine were brought to the table by the two, and they continued to eat and drink.

After some time, she wanted to dance again.

Yusuf danced with her... as she danced, she wanted to drink again... Yusuf drank with her... as they drank, she wanted to hear Yusuf tell jokes.

Yusuf told her jokes.

"Tell me what you saw that night, dare not tell me, and I’ll dock your pay... dock your pay..." After twelve bottles of red wine, she was drunk and began to babble. She lay on the sofa, her head on Yusuf’s thigh, and fell asleep as she talked.

A smile remained on her lips as she slept soundly; tonight, she indulged herself happily.

Yusuf gently stroked her long hair. Although he had also drunk quite a bit, he was surprisingly sober, seemingly not drunk at all today.

Steady breathing rose with her slumber, as she entered dreamland. And he gently picked her up and walked upstairs.

He helped her off with her shoes, her outer garments and jeans, and after tucking her in, he sat by her bedside, quietly, intently watching her as if to etch her features deeply into his heart.
