Chapter 91: Chapter 91: My Home, You Go Live There
After Ember Vance got out of the car, she strode angrily straight towards Yusuf Zuck. Ruth Wilcox, still in the car, immediately recognized the girl as that young and beautiful policewoman.
Yusuf Zuck was not afraid of her. He unbuckled his seatbelt and said, "You don’t need to get out; I’ll go talk to her." With that, he got out of the car as well.
"What are you doing!" Ember Vance exclaimed urgently. "Why were you yelling at me on the phone?" She was furious and now seeing this little bastard again, she felt a mix of hatred and headache.
Call him a bad guy? He was actually quite nasty and lecherous, but within his badness, there was goodness. He had said he would grope her, but then he didn’t, so Ember Vance had an indescribable feeling towards Yusuf Zuck, feeling that he wasn’t that bad after all.
Today, Ember Vance wasn’t wearing a police uniform but an Adidas tracksuit, clearly having gone for exercise early in the morning.
She was beautiful and vibrant. Even in her anger, she was very easy on the eyes.
Yusuf Zuck glanced at her, knowing he had been a bit unreasonable. There was no need to get angry at Ember Vance; she was just a junior policewoman, and her words didn’t carry weight. So he sighed and said, "Our Ms. Wilcox might be removed from her position because of the bomb case. Officer Vance, could you please help us solve the case quickly?
"Um... there’s that issue?" Hearing that Ms. Wilcox might be removed because of the bomb case, Ember Vance was also stunned for a moment, glancing inside the car. However, she couldn’t see anything; the tint was too dark to see the person inside.
"So, please, when you get back to the station, help us out. Thanks!"
"Okay, I’ve got it. But don’t mention the gun incident to anyone, alright? I’ve been away for a few days and only returned to the capital last night. I’m not up to date with the case progress. I’ll find out more when I get back to the station today and call you."
Perhaps because she heard Ruth Wilcox might be dismissed, her anger subsided, and she no longer yelled or shouted.
"Thank you," Yusuf Zuck said with sincere gratitude.
Ember Vance just curled her lip, thinking this little bastard could actually say thank you.
"I’m leaving, and don’t yell at me in the future, okay?" She said, quickly getting back into her car and driving away.
Yusuf Zuck just shrugged his shoulders. This woman talked tough but rarely followed through, though she did have a kind heart.
Meanwhile, as Ember Vance drove, she felt somewhat bewildered. She had fully intended to lose her temper at Yusuf Zuck, but how did he manage to talk her down so easily?
"Next time, I’ll settle the score with him!" Ember Vance murmured to herself.
...
When Yusuf Zuck and Ruth Wilcox arrived at the office upstairs, they were surprised to find the Sect Leader had already arrived.
It was barely dawn, not even time for work yet, and wasn’t the Sect Leader on vacation in Shanghai?
"Ms. Wilcox, I’ve received orders from headquarters to assist you with the preparations. I returned from Shanghai last night and stayed at the company," the Sect Leader said plainly, ignoring Yusuf Zuck and speaking directly to Ruth Wilcox.
"So you mean, you knew as of last night that someone from headquarters was coming?" Yusuf Zuck laughed, thinking he didn’t need to search for the mole as he had just shown himself.
"I received the message yesterday afternoon," the Sect Leader corrected.
"Oh, then call the department heads and tell them to come early for a meeting, and take care of the reception arrangements. Also, draft a dismissal letter," Ruth Wilcox commanded indifferently, and then, wearing her high heels, she stepped into her office. Yusuf Zuck didn’t follow her right away but leaned on the secretary’s bar, smiling, "Sect Leader, whose powerful thigh are you clinging to now?"
"Watch your language. There’s nothing here for you anymore, you can go downstairs now," the Sect Leader said sternly.
"Little bitch..." Yusuf Zuck muttered under his breath.
"What did you say?" The secretary stood up abruptly, glaring at Yusuf Zuck with fury.
"Little bitch!" Yusuf Zuck repeated, looking at her.
"You..." The secretary was almost fainted from anger.
"Hmph, there’s no need for you to put on airs with me here. I’m not afraid to tell you that I’ve received news Ms. Wilcox will be removed, and you will be out of a job immediately," the secretary said smugly.
"Looks like you’ve got a nice fat leg to hug; my good days are coming to an end, huh? I’ll go carry bricks on the construction site tomorrow, but even if I have to do that, I won’t fuck you because you have gynecological diseases!"
"You..." The secretary was so enraged that her teeth chattered and her hands trembled, realizing that Yusuf Zuck was a filthy hooligan. Meanwhile, Yusuf Zuck swaggered into Ruth Wilcox’s office.
"What were you talking to her about outside?" Ruth Wilcox asked as she packed up her personal items on the desk.
"I called her a little bitch!" Yusuf Zuck snickered.
With a "Pfft—" Ruth finally couldn’t help but laugh at Yusuf Zuck’s words, but at the same time, she glared at him fiercely, "You dare to say anything. Help me pack my stuff. First, go to the safe and take out your money. There are some of my savings in there too, take those out for me as well." After speaking, she tossed the keys to the safe to Yusuf Zuck.
Without a word, Yusuf Zuck knew that Ruth Wilcox trusted him completely. Now the secretary couldn’t be trusted, none of the company’s people could be trusted, but this Yusuf Zuck, who had only followed her for a few days, was trustworthy!
Yusuf Zuck opened the safe, first took out his own suitcase with a million inside, then took out a property deed, a couple of watches, some US dollars, and some documents like stock certificates.
"Put everything into this suitcase. These things are very valuable. Later, you’ll help me take them home," she instructed.
"Hmm." Yusuf Zuck placed everything from the safe into the suitcase handed to him by Ruth Wilcox.
"When the finance department is open, take your salary for this month as a security guard and the hundred thousand plus that you’re owed from Shanghai. As for your other bodyguard salary, I’ll transfer it to your bank account later."
"I’ll take the security guard’s pay and the money you owe me from Shanghai, but never mind the bodyguard’s. I don’t need those extra thousands. Give that money to Mia instead."
"No way, that’s what you deserve, and you need money for starting a business now. I’ll transfer the full seven hundred and twenty thousand for the year to you."
"But I don’t want it." Yusuf Zuck walked up to her until they were only about ten centimeters apart before stopping, and he looked at her intently, "Protecting you is something I’m willing to do, so I don’t want the money!"
Ruth Wilcox seemed slightly flustered and looked down, avoiding his gaze, "You still have to take it. Don’t think I’ll be broke just because I’m getting removed. All the shares in Fengdu owned by my parents are mine, plus a portion from my grandfather. So, my shares in Fengdu are actually quite substantial, probably around fifteen percent. My uncle only has ten percent. So don’t believe that I’m out of money!"
"Fine then, I’ll convert what I owe you into shares for my antique store, and you’ll be the lady boss... Uh, I mean, the big boss," Yusuf Zuck said with an awkward smile.
As if she didn’t hear what he said, Ruth Wilcox continued packing her things, "I’ll be heading back to the United States. You can live in my house in the capital. There’s no way I’m letting anyone else benefit from it—it’s my personal property!"
"Got it, I’ll stay there," he replied.
"But you can’t bring anyone else there to stay," Ruth Wilcox suddenly looked up, "Aside from Sara Zuck, absolutely no one else!"
"I understand. I won’t," Yusuf Zuck nodded. Ruth Wilcox’s words had a deeper meaning, warning him not to bring any other woman to her house!
