Invisible Security Guard
Chapter 525 - 524

Chapter 525: 524

Devin King’s men arrived in less than forty minutes, and there were a lot of them—around forty or fifty people on the mountain, some in military uniform, some in police uniform, and some in plain clothes.

Those who entered the Taoist temple were very polite and didn’t introduce themselves. After making a call to Devin King, they handed their cellphone to Yusuf Zuck.

"Let him take the people away. Thank you, Yusuf Zuck," Devin King expressed his gratitude.

"No problem. Those bastards caught my friend. But they wanted the Dragon Gate Order. Do you know what that is? Is it a treasure?" Yusuf Zuck asked with a chuckle.

"I’ll tell you about the Dragon Gate Order when we all get back to Beijing. It’s not convenient to discuss over the phone," Devin King replied after thinking for a moment.

"Just tell me whether it’s a treasure or not, to brace myself," Yusuf Zuck pressed.

"Heh, we’ll talk when you’re back. Hanging up now." Devin King was sly and cunning, not leaking a single clue.

"Damn it." Yusuf Zuck cursed and then tossed the cellphone back to the smiling man who had received it.

"Make sure to watch him, and don’t treat his injuries. If you do, you might not be able to subdue him," Yusuf Zuck pointed at Marcus Escobar and instructed.

"Got it, boss. Don’t you worry!" As the receiver spoke, he actually stamped his foot down, deliberately aiming for the broken parts of Marcus Escobar’s bones.

What an utter bastard.

Yusuf Zuck couldn’t help but laugh and cry. This person was probably from the Dragon Group and knew Marcus Escobar was extremely dangerous, hence he was adept at rubbing salt into wounds.

Once the receiver left, Westin Wilcox and his group returned with another thirty or forty people, both men and women, surrounding the small temple so tightly that not even water could seep through.

The women crowded around Rachel Fournier, taking her to the inner hall to change clothes, while the others started to arrange the Taoist temple, setting up spirit tablets and hanging portraits of the ancestors.

The ancestral portrait was actually of a woman wearing a long dress, with a small and dainty mouth and a valiant bearing, holding a sword and striking a pose.

Of course, the portrait was done by an artist and might be a fabricated image of the ancestor—Yusuf Zuck didn’t believe that the Emei Sect could still have an intact ancestral portrait to this day.

After Rachel Fournier changed her clothes and reappeared, she looked as splendid as a bride, wearing a long robe with a belt cinched at the waist, which gave her an imposing air.

After whispering in Yusuf Zuck’s ear for a while, Rachel Fournier watched him leave the temple and quickly head towards a distant mountaintop.

Rachel Fournier had told him that the inheritance items from her and her master were inside a cave on the clifftop of that mountain—manuals, Emei swords, and the Dragon Gate Order, among other things, were all hidden in that cave. It wasn’t far from here, and the Taoist temple was visible from that mountaintop.

In about ten minutes, Yusuf Zuck reached the cave which had been excavated out of a sheer cliff, crafted by human hands, with branches concealing the entrance, making it invisible and inaccessible to the average person.

Upon entering, he saw a simple wooden bed, a pot, tables, and chairs.

This was where Rachel Fournier grew up, like a wild child in the wilderness.

The secret manual she mentioned was hidden at the top of the cave. To get it, he had to leap up, climb, and then push aside a square rock; behind the rock was a large wooden chest filled with some dry grass to prevent damp and insects. Inside was also a patched-up package.

Yusuf Zuck looked inside and saw six books, a sword, a Jade Pendant, and a black Token. The Token was as wide as a hand, rectangular, and seemed to be made out of a kind of black jade. The front had a traditional Chinese character "龙" (Dragon), while the back had a black carving, also a dragon totem.

Yusuf Zuck carefully stored the Token, and without paying much attention to the sword and the other items, he quickly headed back the way he had come.

When he returned to the Taoist temple, the hall had been tidied up. Everyone was standing on both sides, with Rachel Fournier sitting in the middle. Westin Wilcox, Alan Newton, Hank Larson, and Orlando Johnston were seated at either side of her.

Yusuf Zuck knew that someone’s succession to Sect Leader was a solemn affair, so he didn’t dare to fool around. After placing the sword and the package on the table, he took a seat at the guest table.

Everyone in the great hall saw the sword on the table; it was a green-skinned sword with an unusually carved hilt, the authentic Emei sword.

Westin Wilcox stood up to preside over the ceremony. It was very formal, and he spoke some words about receiving ancestral protection and praying for heavenly blessings. Afterwards came paying homage to our forefathers. Everyone knelt down, Rachel Fournier held up the Treasure Sword, made vows and promises about leading Emei in their ways and the like.

After paying respects to the forefathers, the sect’s disciples also had to kneel before the new Sect Leader, and even Westin Wilcox and others knelt as well, likewise making vows and the like.

After that came the appointments, which were different from an Emperor’s conferment. Rachel Fournier appointed certain individuals to positions such as protectors, elders, and managers.

Westin Wilcox and the three others all became elders.

The whole affair took less than an hour to conclude, and then Westin Wilcox invited Rachel Fournier and Yusuf Zuck down the mountain for a meal, a feast was in order.

"After we eat, I’ll take Sister Harley away," Yusuf said after they got in the car.

"Good, you take care of the sect, I’ll take the Emei sword, but leave the six secret manuals behind, I want Emei’s martial arts to flourish. Moreover, Yusuf, you’re a big boss. I’ve drawn in investment; you just need to use some local connections, and then rebuild the Purple Cloud Observatory, turning it into Emei Observatory. The money will come from your investment!"

"Why me? When did you discuss this with me?" Yusuf immediately protested.

"Then you won’t invest for me, huh?" Rachel asked, batting her eyelids.

"I... I will invest, just leave your phone number, give me the investment budget, and then I’ll send the money, okay?" Yusuf said, laughing and crying at the same time. Actually, investing in a Taoist observatory wasn’t a big deal. Rachel had been living in Sanya for so long, guarding the old man, which was pretty much like protecting him, so he had no reason to refuse her this small request.

"Thank you, Mr. Zhang," Westin Wilcox and the others expressed their gratitude in unison.

"Forget it, from now on, as Sect Leader you’ll really become a genuine Taoist nun, but that’s fun too. I’ll become a Taoist one day!" Yusuf laughed heartily. Being bold and unruffled, he found teasing Taoist nuns interesting and it added a little joy to life.

"I won’t go north with you; I have to return to Sanya. I’m learning to drive there..." Rachel chuckled.

Yusuf thought for a moment. "Who knows you’re staying in Sanya?" he asked.

"No one knows, not even those four knew before."

"That’s good. But you four also keep tight-lipped, okay? Don’t reveal Harley’s whereabouts. Also, who was the bastard that tricked you into coming back and where is he? I’ll go kill him now!"

"He’s already dead. The former Sect Leader killed him," Westin Wilcox said with a smile.

"That’s good, that’s good. If anything comes up that you can’t handle, you can call me. I have connections with the Dragon Group, so you don’t need to fear anyone in the future. I’ve got your back!"

"Thank you, sir!" Westin Wilcox and the others were overjoyed. They had all witnessed Yusuf’s divine skills firsthand; he fought Marcus Escobar at the Late-Glimpse Stage as if he were swatting a chicken, so with Yusuf’s promise, who would dare to bully Emei in the future?

"Sir, there is one more thing. We hope that you and the Sect Leader will agree to it," Westin Wilcox added after a moment of silence in the car. "Now that the Sect Leader has taken over the control of Emei, it is not suitable for her to be unaccompanied. Therefore, we hope to assign a few people to follow the Sect Leader, firstly so the Sect Leader has time to guide their practice, and secondly, so they can tend to the Sect Leader’s daily needs."

"This is not..."

"That’s a good idea!" Before Rachel could refuse, Yusuf agreed for her: "The condition is they have to be female disciples, not male. But if there are male disciples, they can come to me; I do need a few capable hands to help." Yusuf thought of Maurice Singleton in Shandong; Maurice needed assistance, and he really couldn’t spare anyone to help Maurice.
