When a stranger suddenly burst into the meeting room, all the attendees froze, and they also heard Yusuf Zuck’s words. But who was this person, and who had authorized his resignation? Was he the company chairman?

"Mr. Marlon, this person... this person..." The receptionist was visibly nervous; she simply couldn’t stop him.

"It’s fine, you may leave now," Marlon Shepherd got up at this moment and, with a smile on his face, quickly took two steps forward, then shook Yusuf Zuck’s hand.

Wilcox’s domestic hotel and a recently built shopping mall had already become part of Heavenly Investment, and more importantly, they now held a controlling stake in Wilcox Group overseas, becoming its largest shareholder. Wilcox’s had, in essence, changed hands.

One must realize, Wilcox’s Enterprises was huge, covering many business sectors, and under the aggressive pressure from Heavenly Investment, they had to sign a share transfer agreement one month prior. Wilcox’s was left with only around twenty percent of the shares, while Heavenly Investment controlled the remaining seventy-plus percent.

Thus, this dark horse, Heavenly Investment, had long entered the radar of international conglomerates, because Heavenly was simply too wealthy, having forcibly carved out its path.

Many of the company’s senior executives did not even know who the chairman was, since Marlon represented everything. Although there was a board of directors, no one had ever seen its members, let alone the chairman.

But now, with Marlon calling him boss, it meant he was the major shareholder of Heavenly Investment, the chairman, so they had no choice but to stand up.

"I just returned to Beijing today." Yusuf Zuck patted Marlon’s shoulder, signaling him to sit back down, and then turned to Mila Vazquez, the Financial Director, with a smile and said, "Hello, sister-in-law."

It was normal for Fleur Carson to be older and for Yusuf to call Mila Vazquez his sister-in-law.

Mila Vazquez didn’t look overly flattered but instead smiled and nodded slightly, "Your hair has gotten so long, why don’t you get it cut?"

"I’ve just come back, I haven’t had the chance to get a haircut!" Yusuf Zuck exchanged pleasantries with Mila Vazquez.

The two other senior executives who knew Yusuf also walked over at this time and shook his hand, with one of them, surnamed Feng, joking, "Boss, you’ve been away from the helm for quite some time, haven’t you?"

"Yeah, boss, it’s hard to even find you for a meal." The two had spent a couple of days with Yusuf in Inner Mongolia, eating and lodging together, and were deliberately creating an atmosphere of closeness with Yusuf.

"Tonight, I’ll host dinner for everyone tonight!" Yusuf laughed heartily; he certainly had to show respect for the company veterans!

"Alright, everyone, let me introduce Mr. Yusuf Zuck, the sole director of Heavenly Investment and our chairman. Let’s welcome Chairman Zuck to speak!" After Marlon finished speaking, he started clapping his hands proactively—the chairman was here, so of course, they should applaud.

The applause rang out immediately, but the faces of the five who wanted to resign looked very upset and awkward.

"Actually, there’s not much to say," Yusuf Zuck spoke after the applause subsided, thinking a bit, "I don’t understand business, nor do I know how to manage a company. So all along, it has been Marlon and my sister-in-law handling all matters of Heavenly."

"I’m very satisfied with Heavenly’s achievements in the recent period, thank you, everyone!" Yusuf Zuck bowed.

The crowd clapped again.

"As for the issue with Herman Holloway you just mentioned, it’s actually quite simple. I personally have some unpleasantness with him, and I don’t want to use him, so I’m not going to," Yusuf Zuck said without considering the impact these individuals’ departure might have on the company. Used to slaying people, he was already doing well by not drawing his sword.

The five were dumbfounded. He was actually telling them to leave? They only threatened to resign to push Marlon Shepherd into making a compromise; they had no real intention of quitting.

"Oh, one more thing," Yusuf Zuck remembered Ruth Wilcox’s matter and smiled, "Ms. Wilcox from New Century is my future wife. I acquired New Century also because she was the deputy manager there. I felt it was beneath her, so I acquired it, promoted her, and made her the General Manager. In addition, Ms. Wilcox will serve as a senior executive in the company, assisting Marlon Shepherd. That will be all." With that said, Yusuf Zuck left the room.

"All right, the meeting’s adjourned. That’s it for today. Regarding Herman Holloway, issue a company command immediately," Marlon Shepherd instructed before immediately following Yusuf Zuck.

They went to Marlon Shepherd’s office, where Yusuf Zuck, rather than assuming control, sat on the sofa, and Marlon Shepherd also joined him there.

The receptionist carefully brought in two cups of coffee.

"Thank you, you are very diligent in your work," Yusuf Zuck said with a smile as he took a cup.

"Thank you, Chairman," the young girl said, thrilled, and then quickly ran out.

"Boss, can we keep those five? They weren’t serious about resigning; they just wanted to make me give in. Besides, Herman Holloway’s performance is indeed good."

"Haha, you’re in charge here. I was just playing the bad cop for you. Later, you go and talk to the five of them, keep them on. They’ll only be grateful to you, and they won’t oppose you anymore!"

"Also, anyone who betrays the company’s interests is not allowed to stay. I can tolerate differing opinions during company meetings, as that’s collective wisdom, beneficial for the company’s development. However, if department supervisors have under-the-table dealings with staff from the branch offices, that’s unacceptable. Discover one, fire one!"

"Furthermore, you can expand investments. I have some money here, and I trust you with the company!"

"Another thing about Ruth - why has her performance declined?" Yusuf Zuck said, puzzled.

"You don’t know? She didn’t tell you?" Marlon Shepherd asked perplexedly.

"What happened?" Yusuf Zuck asked, frowning.

"Recently, several departments have been causing trouble for the hotel, citing fire safety or hygiene issues. Then the police got involved, claiming New Century harbored prostitutes. It’s under seal now; the hotel is virtually paralyzed. We suspect someone is targeting New Century, but we haven’t figured out who’s behind it."

"You know, if authorities want to find fault with you, they will. Even if you meet health standards, they can claim you don’t. If they barge into a room and catch a couple, they’ll accuse you of harboring prostitutes!"

"It’s a coordinated inspection by multiple departments; there must be someone orchestrating it from behind the scenes," Marlon Shepherd said gravely.

"I understand. I’ll go take a look over there. And regarding the investment company being too small, you should find a new location, or construct a new building, or perhaps buy one. I’m leaving," Yusuf Zuck said no more and left the office with big strides.

However, the moment he opened the door, he saw the five people who wanted to resign. They were standing outside the office, seemingly waiting to speak with him.

PS: The number of updates in the first half of this month will decrease a bit, but Uncle promises three Chapters daily and occasionally four. The editor informed me that by the end of the month, around November 27th or 28th, I’ll need to burst out.
