Chapter 103: The Confrontation

Camilia happened to have the strong guts to do the exact opposite of what her father had urged her to do.

Everyone, including her father, was stunned.

She might have been quite stubborn these days, but no one had expected that she would take things into action.

Not even Kael.

She was expected to cherish her father’s purpose and do the needful, just like every other noble child of the Frost Family would do.

However, today, Camilia had stunned them.

"It’s nice to meet you, Mister Frost. I have really been looking forward to seeing you," Jayden tried to break the silence as he bowed slightly to Heston, attempting to make an impression.

"How dare you open your stinking mouth to say a word to me? You bastard son of a fraud. Haven’t I told you to stay away from my daughter?!" Heston barked, staring harshly at Jayden, who remained calm with a casual smile.

"Don’t insult him, Dad. You should be happy for me. He is the man that I love," Camilia said, her eyes filled with utter disappointment.

"Shut up, Camilia! You are not in love with this man. You are in lust!" Heston bellowed.

His eyes remained on Jayden, who still stayed calm and collected.

Jayden already knew that something like this would happen, and he had come prepared.

Just then, Kael approached them, exchanging sharp glances at both Jayden and Camilia.

"So, this is who you left me for?! I have been waiting for you all day, and now you just show up with this good for nothing loser?!" Kael shouted, his eyes wide at Camilia.

"Hey, easy man..."

Now the main man stepped forward to speak.

"Stop trying to act like you are the boss here. We both know you are only ranting because of your father’s importance in the Frost Family’s alliance," Jayden said. "Aside from that, you would not have the guts to spit a single word here."

"You think so? My father is the king!" Kael shouted.

"Oh, everyone knows that. The king who has refused to bow to the choice of the people. That king? No, he is not my king," Jayden stated.

"I see you are being too reckless with your mouth here, Jayden Cole... I am sure you have no idea what you are doing," Kael said as he chuckled, giving that look of warning.

It was certain that no one messed with the king because they ended up getting grave punishments. It was something that everyone knew, but still, Jayden was bold with every word he said.

Including the part that no one dared to talk about in public — about the king refusing to step down when the people of Nortasia wanted democratic rule.

That was something anyone could be nailed for if caught saying it, and Jayden was still calm, saying it in front of the king’s son.

How crazy was that?

"Power is supposed to be used fairly, not tyrannically," Jayden continued. "The fact that you are the prince of the king who is offering the Megacity share deal with the Frost Family does not mean you must marry his daughter."

"If you truly are good rulers, you would have respected her decision and let her be. You are the prince. There are a lot of women out there who would die to be with you. Why chase after the one who would not?"

The whole room was silent as only Jayden’s voice was heard. Everyone was listening, but that did not mean everyone was agreeing with him...

If there really was anyone taking his words into consideration, Heston and Kael were definitely not among them.

Heston was someone who believed greatly in purpose, seeing it as a perspective that would help the cause of growth.

Kael was just deeply obsessed with getting Camilia for himself. He did not want to lose such a beauty, not to a guy he thought was not even ten percent as rich as he was.

There was no way he would let that happen, and he was not the kind of person who accepted defeat.

Either by any means necessary, he would do anything to get Camilia for himself.

"You have ranted way too much, Jayden Cole. I think someone has to know about this. We will see," Kael said with a dark expression and turned to Heston. "Be ready to get the deal terminated. We will not have anything to do with a disappointing family like yours, and trust me, this is not the end..."

Kael said and stormed out.

Heston tried calling him back, but Kael did not even look, rushing out with his bodyguards following at once.

Turning back to Camilia, Heston just could not hold the anger.

"I disown you, Camilia! You’re no longer my daughter."

Well, that was part of the plan. To kill Kael’s urge to grab Cammy for himself. Unfortunately, Heston had just ended up disowning her, but yes, there was Plan B in case of such a massive incident.

Camilia now had to leave the house, now officially known as Jayden’s girlfriend, as she now lived in the Cole Mansion.

She would remain there until it was time to prove the world wrong, and that time was near.

The next day, Jayden was on campus when Luka approached him.

It was already two days before the final exams, and students had become more serious these days.

Jayden was just alone in the library when Luka found him, and he did not hesitate to approach.

Jayden did not say a word to that and just nodded.

"Any problem?" he then asked.

"Umm, no... no problem at all. Uhm, I just wanted to know if you are down to have a drink. I mean, I would love to buy you a drink," Luka said with an almost breaking voice.

"What for?" Jayden furrowed his brows.

"You know... I never thanked you enough for saving me the other day. So I just figured that buying you a drink while we talk would be great," Luka replied.

Jayden was a little unclear, but he understood where Luka was going.

Although that was not much persuasion to him, he decided to accept.

He already knew Luka had been trying to be on his good side, and just helping him the other day had triggered that urge again, which he knew.

Without saying too much, Luka composed himself and led Jayden to a bar somewhere around campus. At this point, he wanted Jayden to be his friend so badly...

Not just because he saved him, but because of the greatly successful figure he was.
