Chapter 583 - 50: The Queen

Chapter 583: Chapter 50: The Queen

If it wasn’t for Lu Fan’s quick reaction, forming a barrier of sand to protect them from the explosion, the suicide bombing of the six maid corpses would have caused them significant damage.

Tang Zheng held his breath, didn’t wait for the poisonous mist to dissipate, and rushed into the burial chamber. He grabbed Cai Nan’s ankle and dragged her out.

Chen Hong looked at her pathetic situation with a chill in her heart, realizing how crucial carelessness could be. The girl’s skin was withered and wrinkled, sticking to her bones, making her look painfully thin, like a dried corpse.

Cai Nan’s breathing became weak, her eyes disoriented, she extended her arm forward, trying to grasp something, her lips moved a few times before she died completely.

"Be careful around the corpse." Pang Meiqin was scared and quickly warned them.

Tang Zheng nodded, pulled out his sniper blade, ready to finish it off, but just before he cut off Cai Nan’s head, the girl suddenly sat up. Not only did she reach out towards him, but she also opened her mouth to bite him.

With a swish, Tang Zheng’s blade swept through her neck, separating her dried head from her body, kicking her chest so hard that the sternum shattered.

"Will it explode?" Tang Zheng picked up the corpse and threw it back into the burial chamber.

"Off we go, off we go." Dantai was the first into the passage, holding a machine gun. There was no time to waste. Surprisingly, they managed to enter the main burial chamber without much resistance.

This was the burial ground of the king. Naturally, the lowly mummy corpses were not allowed in the resting place of the second generation king.

The chamber was half the size of a basketball court. In the center was a pyramid-shaped high platform with a golden coffin on it, carved with various ancient Egyptian patterns. There were kneeling stone statues on the steps and coffins made from the bodies of royal family members were placed around the chamber. They were the loyal guardians of the second generation king.

Shortly after Trojan Squad entered the main burial chamber, the stone coffins slowly opened with a rumbling sound, revealing mummies wrapped in bandages. They stretched their necks and roared at Tang Zheng and his companions, their hollow eyes wide open.

The stone statues kneeling on the steps also stood up and turned to face the Trojan Squad.

"Charge." Tang Zheng took out the Gatling, sprinted while sweeping bullets everywhere, and the stone statues immediately shattered, flying off the steps.

With all the firepower of Trojan Squad, they swiftly pushed towards the golden coffin, inside which more mummy corpses were clamoring to get out and kill the intruders.

The pyramid-shaped platform was only ten meters high. Tang Zheng quickly reached the top, and before he could touch the coffin, the altar lit up with golden light.

"Quick, open it and place the four artifacts on the king’s body." Aima urged Tang Zheng with an anxious look on her face. The mummies had already jumped onto the platform like cats and were close to the Trojan Squad.

With their backs against Tang Zheng and the rest of the squad, they rapidly fired at the mummies. Fighting the powerful mummies was proving challenging, and several of them got close.

The Dragon’s Strength activated in Yu Manli, who punched one mummy square in the face. Its neck snapped, and it flew backward, its head drooping.

Tang Zheng handed Yu Manli a Terminator with his right hand. Meanwhile, with his left, he lifted the edge of the coffin lid and put strength into his arms.

As Tang Zheng flung his arms, the entire coffin lid flew into a spin and knocked down three mummies.

"Where’s the body?" Tang Zheng stopped, the coffin was empty, void of even a burial object.

"The staff must have moved it." Chen Hong’s face turned pale as he fumbled to change the ammo clip, but it was of no use against the spirits.

"Impossible." Aima screamed, she didn’t know what to do. "My grandfather’s notes said to place the four items on Ramses II and recite a prayer to lift the curse on our family."

"Forget about that, let’s deal with these mummy monsters first. I can’t hold them off much longer." Pang Meiqin was fighting against the spirit monsters, but her weapon seemed rather ineffective. She was in a precarious situation.

"The queen must have stolen the body." Lu Fan frowned as he fired shots, "I hope it’s not really on that Sunship in the sky!"

Tang Zheng used Demon Slaying Holy Flame to fend off the mummies. He looked into the coffin. There were patterns arranged by golden lines inside it, resembling a magic array. He immediately drew out the Crown, the Golden Scarab, and the Book of the Undead with one hand. As he was about to throw them in, the Scepter in Dantai’s possession suddenly emitted a bright golden light, engulfing them and, in a flash, they vanished.

"What just happened?" Lu Fan roared in anger. He put out the full firepower, releasing the sands stored in his wristband, which rushed out like a tide, swiftly engulfing the monster mummies.

Tang Zheng and Dantai only felt a darkness before their eyes and when they opened them again, they were aboard a ship floating in the sky. Looking down at the golden deck beneath, the fluffy white clouds all around, and feeling the warm wind on their cheeks, the two men stood back to back, alert.

Along with twenty painted stone coffins arranged on the deck, it was populated by Ancient Egyptian maids with snakes coiled around their arms and curved knives around their waist-holding fruits, fine wines, and food. They respectfully knelt outside a curtain.

Through the curtain, Tang Zheng faintly made out a female figure lying horizontally.

"Summon the five sacred objects, and I can spare you from death and grant you immortality, making your souls eternally indestructible," the muffled, slightly magnetic voice of Nefertari came out, immediately causing people’s bones to weaken.

It was a charm sound, and anyone who was not firm enough would become her slave.

"Huh, if you can make souls indestructible, then why is your King still lying in his coffin?" Tang Zheng accused unreservedly, causing the Queen’s face to turn green with rage.

"Immortality? Ha, you mean turning us into mummies? That might be worse than death," Dantai laughed heartily and suddenly swung his gun muzzle, shooting towards the large bed behind the curtain.

At the same time, Tang Zheng pulled out his Gatling and fired crazily while charging up to engage in close combat.

When the maids saw the Queen being attacked, they immediately let out a scream and pulled out their curved knives to pounce on them. The painted stone coffin also began to open, and a hand wrapped in a bandage extended out.

"Impudence." Following the Queen’s angry scolding, black rings of light surged from behind the curtain, crashing into Tang Zheng and Dantai. They immediately felt dizzy, staggered, and the black halos turned into mist, diffusing and crawling up their legs, causing the touched skin and flesh to wither.

Using the fastest speed, Tang Zheng and Dantai chugged a potion. At this moment, Barrage had also blasted the curtains revealing the true face of the Queen.

This was a woman in a light long dress, so beautiful it was inexpressible. Otherwise, Ramses II wouldn’t have been so infatuated as to write love poems for her daily.

The Queen was leaning on a large bed covered in velvet, one hand supporting her temples, another hand holding a grape, just about to stuff it into her red lips. Her wrist, ankle, and neck were adorned with pure handcrafted jewelry, greatly amplifying her wheat-colored skin.

A maid was kneeling behind her, her hands reaching into a pottery pot. After being covered in olive oil, she retracted her hands and began to apply it to the Queen’s body.

No one paid any attention to this seductive scene, as Tang Zheng and Dantai were fighting for their lives.

"Daylily, grant us with the bonus effect."

The bonus effect could only last for five minutes and required a cooldown of thirty minutes. Tang Zheng couldn’t wait. He wanted to quickly kill the Queen in his prime state, so he took out a bottle of strength potion that he had obtained after killing Anubis in the Museum and gulped it down. A burning sensation immediately rose in his chest and quickly spread throughout his body.

Daylily, a girl in a white dress, seemed to walk out of thin air, snapped her fingers, and a golden circle of light instantly enveloped Tang Zheng and Dantai.

"Dad, I’ll retreat first, it’s so dangerous here," Daylily shouted and seeing a curved knife slashing at her, quickly disappeared.

The fastest maid rushed forward first, her left arm’s eye tattooed snake shot out like lightning, biting towards Tang Zheng’s cheek, while her right wristwatch launched a silver line, slashing towards his neck.

"Die." Tang Zheng didn’t dodge, instead, he directly swung his Mechanical Lion Roar Cannon fit right arm and fired. In a flash, not only did he break the curved knife, his arm also pierced through the maid’s chest.

After drinking the potion, Tang Zheng possessed strength more than ten times that of an ordinary person. After being boosted by Daylily, it was almost thirty times greater. He could easily crush a Tyrannosaurus with brute force, let alone a weak creature like a maid.

BAM. Tang Zheng quickly swung the maid’s corpse towards the Queen. The maid also had a snake tattoo on her body and Tang Zheng didn’t want to fall victim to it for the second time.

Tang Zheng tilted his head and at the same time flexed his muscles making his neck as hard as iron. The snake bit him but couldn’t penetrate. He quickly grabbed its tail and flicked it out like a whip.

A maid was hit in the face, immediately leaving a bloody and blurry trace. Her body rolled out, and the snake’s entire head shattered.

While waving the snake, Tang Zheng approached the curtain and after attracting attention, he summoned the ancient warrior.

The warrior appeared behind the large bed, lifting his warhammer, and fiercely smashed it towards the Queen.

The Queen rolled off the large bed, but the maid applying the olive oil didn’t react at all and was directly smashed into a splatter of mud. The large bed was shattered and wood chips flew everywhere.

The Queen’s face was frosty as she released a curse towards the warrior. If it hit a normal person, they’d surely turn into a dried corpse, but unfortunately for her, the warrior was a spirit and this kind of attack had absolutely no effect.

The warrior spun his war hammer like a windmill, sending all the mummies protecting the Queen flying.

Dantai had already launched a round of mental impact, but it was equally ineffective. The damage it dealt to these high-level spirits was too small, making him extremely frustrated.

"You are seeking your own death." The Queen jumped up from the deck, while retreating, pulled out a dagger from her waist, slashed her palm, and then splashed the blood towards the warrior.

The blood droplets in the air immediately swelled to the size of a fist, and then separated. It shot towards the three like it had accurate guidance. There was absolutely no way to dodge it.
