Chapter 577: Chapter 46 Square Brawl_2

"Uncle, it seems like there’s something in the sky?" As Lu Fan was about to look up carefully, a tree branch flicked his eye, causing tears to well up instantly.

After Tang Zheng shot down a monster, the muzzle of his gun moved towards the next preassigned target. As his line of sight moved upward where the coconut trees were flourishing and the various leaves covered the sky, nothing could obstruct him from seeing that dark shadow floating in the sky.

"Seems like an airship?" Dantai also glanced at it—his exceptional vision allowing him to vaguely make out the silhouette of the dark shadow in the sky. "No, it doesn’t have any balloons, it’s a ship?"

"How can a ship fly up in the sky?" Pang Meiqin didn’t care about any dark shadow; she was focused on shooting monsters. After all, her responsibility was to do well in the task at hand, and her abilities was only so much. The rest can be left for Tang Zheng to worry about.

Even as Tang Zheng was observing the dark shadow, his AK74 was still firing. The difference being that in order to ensure accuracy, he fired two additional single shots.

The monster fell to the ground after being hit, Tang Zheng then stopped caring about the dark shadow in the sky and focused all his energy on killing monsters, his speed slightly increasing.

Hu Xiaoyan and Chen Hong’s throats were so dry they smoked, their lips chapped, and their lungs unbearably hot as if they were being burnt. Their steps had started to falter and their bodies were swaying, ready to tumble over at any time. Just as they thought they were going to give out and die in the jungle, the dense greenery in front of their eyes suddenly disappeared, and a bright view of the desert came into view.

"We escaped." As this thought just came going through the minds of these four newbies, their legs gave way, and they fell to the ground, faces first into the sand.

Tang Zheng and the others immediately turned around and started shooting at the monsters that chased them out of the oasis. The bullets instantly killed hundreds of them. Body parts were scattered around, and the blood seeping from the dead bodies quickly soaked into the dry sand, turning the corpses into rotten flesh in the sunlight.

The remaining monsters screamed and had no choice but to retreat back to the oasis. It was clear they couldn’t survive in the sun.

"It looks like a sunship that is said to symbolize the rebirth of the Pharaoh. I wonder if the queen is on it?" Squinting to the sky and making a visor with her hand, Aima could barely make out a silhouette of a ship.

"Rest for two minutes. Drink water and have some chocolate to replenish energy." Tang Zheng took out more than twenty bottles of mineral water and quickly distributed them.

"Refreshing." Chu Baichuan opened the cap of the bottle, poured it over his head, and immediately felt a cool sensation spread. He let out a breath, quickly opened another bottle for his wife and asked if she felt uncomfortable.

While drinking water, Tang Zheng was still on alert and observing the environment. The most noticeable being the Abu Simbel Temple a thousand meters away. Four giant statues of Ramses II, carved directly on the rocks, were standing outside for worship.

"These tourists really aren’t afraid of dying." While munching on high-calorie food, Pang Meiqin saw at least a thousand tourists around them, visiting and taking pictures. Some of them were shocked to see them holding guns and opening fire, stood frozen on the spot, and then started running away.

"Aima, what are we supposed to do next?" Yu Manli asked in a low voice. It was also a reminder to Tang Zheng that they can’t stay here for too long.

"Go into the Sacred Mother, find the stone coffin holding Ramses II’s body, destroy it, Nefertari will appear, then kill her and the mission will be completed." Tang Zheng had guessed the entire mission based on Aima’s description,"Don’t worry. We have five artifacts with us now. When we get here, the queen will definitely show up to snatch them."

However, just after one minute, the queen did not appear, instead, the soldiers of the Scorpion King arrived first.

The spot where the Trojan Squad was situated used to be a huge square, but after thousands of years, it had eroded beyond recognition. Only the large stone steps leading to the temple entrance had been restored and remained intact, but now they were also starting to collapse.

The ground beneath the entire temple complex began to shake violently, as if a level five earthquake was taking place. It stirred up tons of sand and dust, startling the tourists who started to flee frantically. However, they hadn’t taken more than a few steps when they seemed to step into quicksand, their bodies immediately sank into it and disappeared.

Lu Fan quickly deployed his ability, solidifying the ground beneath them, and creating a firm footing.

A few seconds later, the shaking stopped. However, instead of being able to celebrate their narrow escape, the surviving tourists suddenly found themselves surrounded by columns of sand that shot up like fountains. These columns of sand quickly took the form of wolf-headed, humanoid monsters. These imposing creatures stood two meters tall and wielded shields and axes. Wasting no time, they began to slaughter every human being on the square.

A short while later, the square was devoid of the living. All that was left were mutilated corpses.

"Let’s go, Dantai. Let’s rush them together," Tang Zheng said, knowing that he couldn’t take on the horde of monsters in the square alone. He understood that they needed to penetrate through the mass of monsters as quickly as they could and get into the temple.

When bullets hit these sand monsters, their bodies shattered into yellow sand that scattered with the wind. However, a few seconds later, the sand at their wounds would start to wriggle and fill in the missing parts of their bodies.

This time, even the spiritual power bullets could not completely kill them. Worse yet, several Giant Pharaoh Scorpions, as large as big bulldozers, were now crawling out of the ground, attacking with their deadly pincers.

"Faster," Dantai urged, speeding up. At this moment, it wasn’t possible to look after the newcomers. Everyone had to fend for themselves.

Xu Liangmao’s shooting skills, honed after days of surviving life-or-death situations, proved useful. Lagging behind the others, he managed to kill several of the wolf-headed monsters that had pursued them.

"Don’t be afraid, shoot. Kill them!" Yu Manli shouted continually, trying to quell the fear in the hearts of the four new women. Chen Hong and Hu Xiaoyan screamed and shot continuously, although they were inept at changing the ammo clips, at least they did not make any mistakes. This, undoubtedly, was due to Yu Manli. The mature woman had used her spare time to train them in preparation for situations like these, whenever she was not attending to Tang Zheng.

In contrast, Cai Nan and Shan Shan, who had refused to cooperate with Yu Manli, were clumsy, still pulling the trigger even after they’d run out of bullets.

"Change your ammo clip!" Yu Manli reminded them loudly.

Cai Nan and Shan Shan’s arms were trembling as they tried to change the ammo clip. They managed to get it out, but in their panic and rushing, they dropped it on the ground.

Filled with regret and blaming themselves, their lack of cooperation with Yu Manli and the others came back to haunt them. They had always looked down on Yu Manli, the socialite, Chen Hong, the Fallen Star, and the mistress, while they relied heavily on Chen Jiarong’s protection. This had led them to harbor self-illusion and evade the harsh reality until they were finally caught in an emergency and realized that their power was not sufficient to cope with the situation. They became a complete disaster.

By now, the nearest Pharaoh Scorpion had crawled within ten meters, approaching them with its menacing claws. Tang Zheng raised his right arm. The Mechanical Lion Cannon focused its energy into a ray of light that razed the ground as it struck the scorpion, melting the sand on the ground into a fluid state with its tremendous heat.

The scorpion was sent flying fifty meters back, like a castle under a hammer’s siege, but it got up and started running towards them again in a few seconds.

Tang Zheng was frustrated. If only his S-grade artifact had a spiritual attack, he could have killed it with one shot.

"Tang Zheng, don’t hold back. You have those point-to-point Cannon Beam Bullets, they incorporate spiritual power and can blast them to pieces," Dantai shouted as he saw that the sheer number of wolf-headed monsters was holding him back. He called out to Tang Zheng, asking him to go all out, "I’ll cover you."

Without any hesitation, Tang Zheng took out his Gauss Sniper Rifle and loaded a twenty-bullet Cannon Beam Magazine. He locked onto a Pharaoh Scorpion using the sight, and pulled the trigger.

The blue light beam blasted forth, hitting the scorpion. It easily penetrated it, burning its body into charred clumps, leaving no blood or pieces flying out because the high temperature turned everything into char.

"Uncle’s consumption of points is probably more than what the newcomers earn." Seeing the Giant Scorpions being blasted apart, Lu Fan couldn’t help but retort. He felt bad about Tang Zheng bearing all the costs.

"You shoot too." Tang Zheng took out a box of Cannon Beam Bullets and threw it to Lu Fan. Their situation was becoming desperate as more Giant Scorpions were appearing. They had to kill them all before they could get close.
