Chapter 573: Chapter 43: Indiscriminate Bombardment_2

A bloody carnage quickly consumed the entire carriage, corpses scattered all over.

"These people are mad," Jasons shivered uncontrollably.

"Open your damn eyes, they’re not humans anymore," Dantai Zongqi cursed angrily, "If you want to play humanitarian, don’t hide in the back, get in there and save people."

The corpses of the slain passengers exploded one by one, revealing black pharaoh scorpions.

Six servants with black turbans stood on the other side of the carriage. They were originally planning to control these passengers and take them close to Tang Zheng before releasing the scorpions inside them to conquer from within. However, they hadn’t expected him to kill indiscriminately.

Seeing their plan fail, the servants ceased with their pretense and directly controlled the passengers to charge at the other side.

"Stop playing the good Samaritan. I had a look early on, everyone on this train, apart from us, has turned into a host for scorpions," declared Tang Zheng. Even if he wasn’t sure, he would’ve claimed it anyway to maintain the moral high ground, "They are all monsters."

Those passengers who initially managed to hide and avoid the carnage were cowering in fear after witnessing the scene. On hearing Tang Zheng’s words, they started jumping up to get away from the crowd around them, as if they too were infested with scorpions.

"Chu Baichuan, your turn." Tang Zheng’s Demon Slaying Holy Flame had explosive effects. Although each burst could blast out a clearing, its reloading speed was slow. Clearing the battlefield had to rely on Chu Baichuan as the little lolita was unwell and not suitable for combat.

Old Tang had been fully consumed. After his death, he was covered in scorpions and stood up again to run towards Tang Zheng, only to be blasted into a pile of flesh by three of his gunshots.

Scorpion remnants and bodily fluids flew around causing a vile stench.

"Watch this," Chu Baichuan rolled up his sleeves, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, squeezed into Tang Zheng’s side, and set it off. Amidst the loud rumble, a torrential flame dragon engulfed everything in its path, wreaking havoc in the carriage.

None of the passengers were spared. After the flame dragon swept through, the carriage was left charred. Ash and charred bodies were all that remained. Some people, upon witnessing the brutal scene, immediately threw up.

Chu Baichuan’s explosive power couldn’t be unleashed in the void. It could only be activated when attached to an object. But he cleverly used a mineral water bottle to overcome this limitation. He had a knack for improvisation and street-fighting experience, giving him an edge in such situations.

"How could Ai Yixin, who looks so pretty, fall for someone like him?" Pang Meiqin was puzzled. This was like a beautiful flower planted in cow dung.

The Pharaoh Scorpion’s servants, having their battle tactics thwarted, were gnashing their teeth in rage. They moved aside and controlled the passengers in the other carriages to join the reinforcements.

"Haha, having a wide range of lethal abilities feels so good. Tang Zheng, I’ll handle the scorpions, you protect Yixin." Chu Baichuan looked pleased with himself. He pulled the gun bolt, ejected a bullet, gripped it in his hand and threw it with a baseball pitching motion.

BOOM! The thrown bullet exploded in the carriage ahead, engulfing the incoming crowd in a sea of fire.

"Humph, if it wasn’t for my stomachache, I wouldn’t let you show off," Lu Fan was grumbling, leaning against the door frame, feeling helpless.

"Bragging, there’s no sand here, how could you activate your abilities?" Chu Baichuan wasn’t about to be outdone by a little lolita.

"I’ve already filled two containers in my wristwatch with backup, fifty tons of sand. I can crush you with it if you don’t believe me," Lu Fan beckoned with her right hand, a small sand snake poured out from her wristwatch but immediately crumbled and scattered on the ground.

Lu Fan covered her belly and again felt the urge to go to the restroom.

Lin Weiguo’s eyes lit up. He thought about preparing different materials so that he could have different types of armor.

"Don’t go too far ahead. We can’t cover you," Seeing Chu Baichuan walk towards the center of the carriage, Tang Zheng quickly stopped him and concurrently signalled Xu Biyun and Pang Meiqin to ensure Ai Yixin’s safety.

"Is it okay behind us?" Chen Hong held Hu Xiaoyan’s arm, looking fearfully behind them.

"No wonder, I wondered why Tang Zheng chose the first carriage when booking the tickets. Now I get it." Jasons slapped his forehead, finally understanding.

The rookies were once again impressed. Tang Zheng’s leadership was clearly no fluke.

"Unless we kill those turbaned men, this attack won’t stop." Tang Zheng felt helpless as he watched them retreat into the crowd. They were too alert, leaving him no opportunity for a sniper shot.

"Are we supposed to clear the entire train?" Ai Yixin’s expectation was too optimistic. The enemy wouldn’t give them that opportunity.

The passengers who had become scorpion hosts changed their tactics under the command of the servants. They ping-ponged forward off the carriage walls, ensuring that Chu Baichuan’s bombing could only hit a few of them.

Chu Baichuan was thrown into chaos. After several consecutive bombings, he lost control and a host managed to get close. In mid-air, the host’s belly burst open and Pharaoh Scorpions scattered towards him like splashed water.

"Move back." Tang Zheng opened fire, creating a round hole in the swarm of scorpions with the explosive effect of the buckshot. Scorched scorpion corpses were burning around the hole.

Chu Baichuan retreated quickly and used his ability at full strength. Another blast dragon came out and cleaned the area completely.

After the explosion, the hosts started their jumping assault again.

"They’re coming again? This tactic is disgusting." If Chu Baichuan had to clear the area every time, he would exhaust his life energy.

"Stand beside me. Use an area attack when their numbers increase." Tang Zheng moved to the center of the carriage, held the Demon Slaying Holy Flame in his right hand. After killing one host, he gave the gun a 360° flip with a flick of his wrist. After reloading with a click, he aimed and fired again, sending another host flying.

His left hand was not idle either. He took out the Terminator. If the Demon Slaying Holy Flame couldn’t keep up with the enemies, the six-barreled machine gun would start rotating and firing a barrage.

One man with dual guns, Tang Zheng completely suppressed the hosts. For a full five minutes, there were no dangerous situations. Though the scorpions that fell and crawled back were annoying, with Chu Baichuan, a walking artillery, beside him, Tang Zheng had nothing to worry about.

Dantai and others were not idle either. They launched a strong attack to kill the distant hosts, trying their best not to let them get close.

This was a war of attrition. Tang Zheng, wanting to create a strategic space for a maneuver, took the initiative to push. Another five minutes later, the three carriages Tang Zheng had passed were covered with scorpion corpses, over a foot thick. Stepping on them was like stepping on a pile of meat paste and body fluids - slippery and utterly disgusting.

Seeing their tactics failing, the turbaned servants were furious. After shrieking sharply a few times, they started to sprint at full speed. Their speed was much faster, leaving after-images in their wake.

"Fall back. Each of you aim at one." Tang Zheng didn’t want to confront these things head-on. The firing speed of the Demon Slaying Holy Flame was a drawback. He only had time to fire at one. The others had already lunged.

The firearms of Dantai people had poor recoil. Even if they hit, the monsters would still charge. Xu Biyun did not participate in the battle. She summoned a puppet to protect Aima and Ai Yixin.

Tang Zheng and his party continued to retreat. When the three servants got within three meters, they suddenly enlarged. Ripping their robes, they turned into giant Pharaoh Scorpions, big as a small car.

Boom. The three scorpions hit the ground and rushed forward rapidly. Their poison glands compressed, pushing out paralyzing venom like water pumps.

Chu Baichuan’s explosive fire dragon appeared precisely in time and evaporated all the green liquid in the air. Then, one scorpion served as a meat shield and blocked it.

The other two crossed over its charred body and charged again. When they got in front of Tang Zheng, they extended their pincers, trying to tear him apart, while their tail needles were aimed at his head like crossbow arrows. As they attacked, another wave of venom was shot out.

"Gravity Suppression!" Tang Zheng used his ability. The bodies of the two giant scorpions shook suddenly, as if a speeding truck got hit by a meteor. They plummeted into the ground, and the acid, like flies hit by a swatter, dropped straight down to the ground. (To be continued. If you like this work, please come to qidian.com and vote.
