The being known as the Undead Guardian Anubis stood up on his hands and knees, looking as if it emerged from hell. A pair of blood-red eyes scanned the entire exhibition hall, finally landing on Tang Zheng and his group.

"I’ll hold him off, you guys go first." Lin Weiguo pointed the muzzle of his Roaring Death Gun and let loose a scorching barrage of bullets.

Anubis’s body, comprised of mud and stone, was extremely hard, with the bullets barely causing negligible damage, scattering grains the size of small fingernails.

Boom, Tang Zheng opened fire. The buckshot, wrapped in golden flames, shot toward Anubis’s forehead, only to be blocked by its oversized hand.

Anubis stomped on the ground causing a violent shake in the museum that resembled an earthquake. Many one-foot-wide cracks opened up on the ground, red magma bubbling up, ready to erupt at any moment.

"Qin Yan, take Aima and get out." Tang Zheng certainly couldn’t abandon old Lin. He immediately summoned his warlord, took out his Gatling machine gun, and unleashed a rain of bullets on Anubis’s head.

Dantai released a mental impact, but to no avail, making him feel deeply powerless. This feeling of being able to survive only by relying on others was utterly dreadful.

The three newbies were scared witless, their faces paler than paper as the heat from the magma intensified, almost scorching their skins.

Qin Yan carried Aima and easily outpaced them, but the moment she tried to push the main gate of the museum open, her expression changed drastically—she couldn’t force it open.

"We might have to kill it to get out of here." Qin Yan dodged the magma while retreating quickly, searching for a safe place to land.

Boom, Anubis stomped the ground again, causing the magma to spout, sizzling over a meter high. The guy in the baseball cap was slow to dodge and his sleeve got set on fire, causing him to hastily pat the flames out.

"Take it off." Qin Yan yelled, and fortunately, the guy in the baseball cap wasn’t too slow-witted. Braving the painful sensation of the burn, he managed to take his top off.

"What’s going on?" Hearing the chaotic noise coming from his earpiece, Lu Fan was growing anxious and wanted to rush in to help.

"Stay quiet." Tang Zheng emptied the six-thousand-round ammo box of the Gatling, only managing to destroy less than half of Anubis’s head. Tang Zheng took out Yuki Shiro again, trying to engage it in close combat.

The warlord had run up to Anubis’s calf, wound up his warhammer, and bashed at its ankle. When it saw Anubis lift its leg to crush him, the warlord easily evaded with a roll and then continued to hammer away relentlessly.

"Full firepower." Lin Weiguo released his ability. The soil and magma beneath his feet started to spread upwards, enveloping him and transforming him into a stone figure. Like a rapidly accelerating tank, Lin Weiguo hurled himself with all his might at the monster.

Dantai fired shot after shot at Anubis’s eyes, seemingly its weak spot. A skeletal pterosaur that was flying from a distance, grazed past Anubis, only to be punched down, falling into the magma, immediately catching fire.

As expected of the SS-Class Item Yuki Shiro, it proved to be effective in slaying spirit bodies. With just one strike, it sliced into Anubis’s leg bone, severing a large chunk.

Lin Weiguo collided against Anubis, but unfortunately, he was slightly outmatched and couldn’t knock it down.

Tang Zheng took out his Double-handed Slaughter Axe, compressed his legs to build up power, then sprang up towards Anubis’s waist. At the pinnacle, he walloped the axe into its waist, then inserted Yuki Shiro above that, took out the Slaughter Axe again, and felled it upwards in this manner. Using this technique, he managed to climb up to its neck within a few leaps.

Anubis was irked by this ’mosquito.’ Waving and slapping vigorously in an attempt to squash Tang Zheng, who then sharply pulled out his weapon, made use of gravity to free-fall, avoided the attack, and again thrust his weapon into Anubis’s body, carving out deep slashes due to inertia.

Aima watched, completely flabbergasted. Was he even human?

Anubis stomped, and the magma spouted again, aiming to burn these pesky bugs. Qin Yan had already led the newbies out of its range of attack and was now battling against the pursuing mummies.

Seeing that he was barely causing any damage to this massive figure, Dantai gave up and went to protect Aima.

Tang Zheng climbed to the top again and shoved Yuki Shiro into Anubis’s head. He quickly swung, shaving off a large pile of stone chips.

With Lin Weiguo and the warlord working together, they finally smashed Anubis’s left ankle, enabling Lin Weiguo to knock it off balance. As Anubis fell, Tang Zheng fell along with it, but managed to spring up, cancelling some of the gravitational force just two meters above the ground. He then landed in front of Anubis, severing half of its neck.

As its giant hand attempted to squash him, Tang Zheng backed away, took out the Demon Slaying Holy Flame, and shot towards its neck and eyeballs. The warlord and Lin Weiguo also rushed over. After about ten rounds of attack, they turned its head into a pile of mush. With a deafening blast, Anubis died completely.

With its master no longer able to control it, the magma seeped into the ground and disappeared, leaving only dry, cracked crevices.

"Quick, let’s go." Lin Weiguo called out to Qin Yan, and dashed out of the main entrance first. After Anubis’s death, it had dropped four potions and a Golden Seed. Lin didn’t pick them up; he left them all for Tang Zheng as a token of his gratitude.

Tang Zheng picked them up and was the last to leave the museum. He rushed to the main street outside, where the freshly warm night wind pleasantly hit his face.

Without the shielding effect of the Curse of the Shadow, the two-hundred-year-old museum started collapsing. The destroyed cultural relics were impossible to measure in terms of money, but not a single person cared about it. The bus sped up and disappeared into the night.
