Chapter 471 - 29 Unexpected Death

Chapter 471: Chapter 29 Unexpected Death

Urgent gasping made Gao Wei’s chest sound like a broken bellows. Running on the battlefield at night, watching bullets whizz past him closely, hearing the sounds of the chasing members of the Filipino Trojan Squad right behind him, he felt like he would die the next moment.

"No, I’m indeed going to die." Gao Wei gritted his teeth, got up and continued to run. He had previously thought that the Trojan Horse Game was not that hard when he was following Tang Zheng. But when he was singled out, he truly experienced the harshness of this world.

Due to excessive blood loss, dizziness and weakness began to invade Gao Wei’s brain and limbs. He only knew to run towards the light of the fort, betting that Tang Zheng had to be alive. If he could rendezvous with him, he would survive.

It was in bad shape for Gao Wei, who lost an arm due to a high school girl’s first attack, and his battle strength was greatly reduced. He barely survived the second punishment team attack with severe injuries. The Trojan Squad came to attack, and the old soldier felt he was really unlucky.

Boom, a blue beam, as thick as a soccer ball, tore through the darkness, brushing past Gao Wei’s leg about five centimeters and hit the ground. Although he didn’t die, the intense heat immediately scorched the protective clothing, and the explosive wave tossed him over.

There’s still nearly two hundred meters to go, Tang Zheng could not see clearly who was being chased, but he’s sure that the chasers weren’t his teammates. These people didn’t possess such powerful weapons. That light beam was an expensive cannon beam bullet. He didn’t believe his teammates could kill any Conquerors and then snatch such spoils of war. Yin Shangwu could, but she had already left.

Tang Zheng didn’t hesitate anymore, using the infrared sight, he locked onto a following enemy and immediately pulled the trigger. The swift Armor Piercing Incendiary Bullet streaked across the night sky like a meteor, striking the ground in front of the pursuers and detonated, creating a cloud of soil.

In such a terrible environment, Tang Zheng couldn’t ensure every bullet was lethal, he could only try to hinder the enemy’s steps and let the unlucky soul in front run faster. He was running his way after all, it didn’t matter to shoot him straight if he was not his teammate.

Gao Wei picked himself up and sprinted even harder. He recognized the effect of that bullet, it was Tang Zheng. But the Filipino Trojan Squad also accelerated their pursuit. The Cannon Beam fired again, a rifle blasted with the power of a battleship’s gun.

Gao Wei was blasted off his feet once again, his irregular running had saved his life. However, even though it would miss him by a few centimeters, part of his protective clothing was still scorched by the intense heat.

With the bright light from the beam, Tang Zheng finally saw that the one scrambling to escape was the old soldier Gao Wei. He didn’t care about wasting bullets anymore, he continuously fired to stop their pursuit. After firing five bullets, he finally managed to kill an unlucky Newbie. But these guys didn’t slow down, they were adamant about taking Gao Wei’s life. They had more people and wanted to kill Tang Zheng by the way.

Tang Zheng spat out, after killing the second Newbie, the Filipino Squad had slight confusion and hesitation, but it was quickly subdued by the squad leader’s roar.

The squad leader no longer cared about how many Newbies died, he just wanted to kill the Conqueror on the other side. He was still caring about the Cannon Beam just now, but he fired two shots in a row at this moment.

The severly injured Gao Wei could not hold on any longer. The blue beam hit his back and instantly blasted him into a lump of rotten flesh, his blood was instantly evaporated, the fat on the chunks of flesh burned like meteors, and fell sputtering onto the ground.

Tang Zheng did not expect that Gao Wei, a strong veteran, would die in such a cheap place. He died without leaving a whole body, he was momentarily stunned. Then a string of bullets hit around him, snapping him back to reality. He quickly rolled away to change his shooting location.

The other side was still recoiling, seeming to want to crush Tang Zheng with their unstoppable momentum. As if they had tasted the sweetness, the squad leader’s Cannon Beam fired again.

"Fuck, I have it too." Tang Zheng could not help but curse, changed the magazine and aimed his gun at where the bullet was fired while running, and pulled the trigger.

A blue beam, like a dinner knife cutting through a butter cake, instantly struck the crowd. Only two Conquerors and a survivor with specially strengthened neural response speed in the third game managed to dodge. The rest of the three Newbies were partially vaporized, the remaining were like Gao Wei, became burning chunks of flesh.

The Thunderball and Magnetic Storm Ball with dazzling lights fired a barrage, steadily tracked Tang Zheng’s side, hit the ground, and blasted out pits. The shooting frequency of the blue beam also increased. The opponent was very careful if they could solve the problem with points, they would absolutely not risk life.

"One versus three, seems that I was overconfident." Without saving Gao Wei, he put himself in a crisis. Tang Zheng scolded himself for being a too-good person. If he had been colder and didn’t care about Gao Wei’s life or death, using him as bait, he could definitely ambush and kill one or two Conquerors. The battle would have been much easier then, however, Tang Zheng regretted not because of these, but because he couldn’t save Gao Wei.

The Conquerors were rushing at high speed, in just a few pulls of the trigger, both sides were close to each other. Tang Zheng wanted to take the initiative, he immediately released his warlord, the enemy had three people and powerful long-range weapons which made Gravity Suppression inappropriate. And there was no need to say more about the woman musketeer, their weapons definitely couldn’t penetrate the opponent’s armor.

The opponent was aiming for the same target, having activated their seed ability, Tang Zheng immediately felt as if he was stuck in a swamp, his entire body’s movement restricted.

Thump-thump-thump. Tang Zheng was hit. The thunderstorm ball hit him, numbing his body. Had it not been for the Firefly, he would’ve been finished. However, the Warrior also had gains. The opponent, due to hitting Tang Zheng and his excitement afterwards, greatly lowered his guard. The survivor holding the magnetic storm rifle was immediately hit in the upper body with the war hammer, before he even had the chance to blink, he was caught by the Warrior leveled to the ground, then another smash, completely shattering his head.

"Fortunate." The previous hits were planned by Tang Zheng, just to make the enemy think victory was certain and lead to their arrogance. Now, he was reaping the benefits. If he hadn’t calculated the trajectory of the thunderstorm ball, knowing that his head wouldn’t be hit, he would’ve used the blink card to dodge just now.

"Idiot, aim for the head." The group leader roared, discharging a cannon beam, but discovered that the kid had blinked away.

Tang Zheng reappeared, bracing against the sluggishness of his body, shooting at the woman who was being cornered by the Warrior, a blue beam grazed her leg. The combination of S-grade firearms and expensive ammo certainly showed the power of battleship gunfire, directly scorching her unicorn protective clothing and injuring her calf.

The woman whimpered, narrowly evading the Warrior’s attack once again, but she didn’t dodge the cannon beam. Her head was struck and half her upper body was blasted into gore.

Tang Zheng was lucky, the woman’s ability was obviously the swamp pause, after killing her, Tang Zheng immediately felt his body relax. However, the group leader also began his attack. Because the blink card needed to cool down, Tang Zheng could only try his best to protect his head and let the Warrior lend a hand.

Boom, Tang Zheng was hit in the waist. Even though he was wearing S-class Firefly, he was still blasted off a dozen meters away, creating a deep indent in the ground, two of his ribs were even broken, causing him to spit out blood.

The Philippine group leader also blinked, evading the Warrior to first fire two shots at Tang Zheng, forcing him to dodge in the direction he wanted, then began his precise shooting.

"His ability is from the shooting series." Tang Zheng dodged the fatal shot to his head again, but was hit at the back, the impact force making him tumble away. He understood the opponent’s difficulty. As for the fact he broke another rib, he couldn’t care less about it now.

On this edge of death, Tang Zheng really wanted to burst his seed, but he just couldn’t get the feel of it. Luckily, the Warrior’s restraint played a role, the group leader was clearly not a close combat series, and was visibly embarrassed.

Withstanding his pain, Tang Zheng no longer felt pity about his ammo, he just sprayed bullets at the enemy. However, apart from making his opponent frantic, it resulted in nothing.

After emptying the ammo clip, Tang Zheng deliberately displayed a flustered expression on his face. He took a new ammo clip to fill his gun, but accidentally dropped it in front of the opponent. The group leader was even more confident about his victory. After firing a shot, he realised that the kid had lost sight of the ammo clip and was blindly running to the fort, it was clear he was seeking to escape.

"Hehe, go to hell." The group leader was thrilled, nothing was more self-satisfying than slaughtering a conqueror who had lost his will to fight. If it weren’t for the fact that he had to avoid the attack from the annoying ancient warrior beside him, he would’ve killed that conqueror already.

Tang Zheng stumbled to the ground, rolling on it. Using this delay, the group leader managed to catch up. Even though he wasn’t good at close combat, it was pretty clear he’s faring much better in comparison. If Tang Zheng weren’t running so fast, the closer the distance, the higher the accuracy of his shooting.

Tang Zheng sneaked a glimpse at the enemy while rolling, seeing him entering a seven-meter range, he immediately darted out like a cheetah. The group leader was shocked, looking at his fierce face, he knew he had fallen into a trap. As he pulled the trigger to suppress shooting, he started to retreat, but the Warrior caught up. The taller and longer arms of the Warrior instantly blocked half of his retreat route.

Tang Zheng knew that once the enemy fired, he wouldn’t be able to dodge the fast-speed beam. So, he was always dodging the muzzle. He was right this time, in the gap when the group leader was cocking the gun, Tang Zheng finally managed to close in. He tried to take out a rabbit bomb, and to his surprise, he managed to do it. Grabbing it, he smashed it into the Philippine group leader’s face.

The fierce-looking rabbit bomb clung tightly onto his head, starting the countdown.

The group leader tried to pull the bomb off, but Tang Zheng knocked his hand away, punching him in the stomach, then followed up with a kick, sending him over to the Warrior. Just hearing the countdown was enough to make one panick. The group leader was only trying to get it off when he got struck directly by the Warrior’s hammer, and was smashed like a radish into the soil. If he wasn’t also wearing a Firefly suit, it would’ve been game over.
