Chapter 445: Chapter 6: The Brutal Beast Clan

Upon hearing Tang Zheng’s low growl, the four Burmese men shouting towards the cave corridor through the iron fence instantly knew that they were in trouble. One of them immediately turned around and pulled out a hidden dagger, striving to buy some time. The other three pulled their gun bolts. The sharp clang of metal striking metal made the hairs of the newcomers stand up.

The female models instinctively moved their flashlights over, under the beam of light, the twisted faces of these Burmese men were clearly visible.

"Shine it in their eyes." After Lu Fan and Qin Yan verified that their surroundings were secure, they turned up their tactical flashlights but the shadows were too thick, blocking the beam of light.

One second was enough for Tang Zheng to topple them. Once he chose his position, he lunged forward. He didn’t even dodge the outstretched dagger, landing a solid punch on the lead’s man’s face, blood and broken teeth flying out from the force of the punch. The man’s head was thrown back, his body colliding with his companion beside him.

Tang Zheng swung his right arm, throwing the youth beside him off his feet. He grabbed the arm holding the gun with his left hand, breaking it using brute force. His other hand was pressing on the man’s mouth, backing up into the iron fence. Meanwhile, Dantai knocked out the last Burmese man. He was aware of the rule not to kill the newcomers, so he refrained from using lethal force.

However, it was only when Tang Zheng was stabbed that the newcomers started screaming.

"Quiet," Tang Zheng made a silence gesture. Perhaps hearing the shouting, the Burmese men’s cries echoed from the corridor. "Can you understand?"

"No idea," Dantai shook his head, throwing the subdued man to the ground, "What do we do now?"

"Tear off some cloth strips, tie them up." Seeing how capable Tang Zheng and the others were, Dong Bai was impressed. They were far more formidable compared to him, who had trained for many years as a gym teacher, definitely not something ordinary people could achieve.

"Had I known earlier, I wouldn’t have moved at all. Nearly sprained my back." Gao Wei rubbed his back, pleased with Tang Zheng’s performance. As expected from the reliable group leader.

"I’ve got ropes here." Tang Zheng tossed several parachute ropes over, which Zhang Hongtao readily accepted. "You don’t need to overwork yourself for these minor matters."

A white-collar woman in a business suit named Zhang Ying moved over to Tang Zheng, supporting his arm. "Are you hurt?"

"No, just don’t point your muzzle at me." Although it wasn’t loaded, Tang Zheng didn’t want to take any risks.

"I’m sorry," Zhang Ying quickly hugged her rifle, clearly embarrassed.

No one else said anything. Several minutes later, the cave was silent except for the dripping of water. Perhaps someone had been holding their breath for too long and started coughing.

"We can’t keep delaying like this, we need to figure out a way out." Dong Bai shook the iron fence forcefully. Seeing a small door nearby with an electronic lock, he pulled his gun bolt, resting the gunstock on his shoulder, aiming at the lock. "We can’t let them wipe us out all at once."

As the gunshots rang, bullets hit the electronic lock. Sparks flew, and with a sound, it was blown away, startling Dong Bai who stumbled backward, crouching on the ground. His carefully maintained tough guy image vanished instantly.

Gao Yu burst into laughter, finding him ridiculous. Angered and embarrassed, Dong Bai glared back. Undeterred, Gao Yu spit on the ground, staring back provocatively.

Gunshots could also be heard from the Burmese men, likely doing the same thing. Subsequent loud shouts proved that they didn’t get the result they desired.

"Uncle, it’s been ten minutes since we were teleported into the game. Shouldn’t we start making our move?" Lu Fan moved closer beside Tang Zheng, lowering his voice, "If the Burmese people are also trapped, it might be a good opportunity to take them out."

"What if there are traps in the corridor?" Tang Zheng considered the possibility suggested by the little Lolita.

Lu Fan subtly gestured towards the newcomers, implying that they could scout ahead.

"That’s tough. What if we destroy the iron fence forcefully and set off a trap like explosives? Tang Zheng looked at the iron gate and shook his head, "Given that we’ve been tasked with a team annihilation difficulty, would Trojan be dumb enough to setup such simple obstacles?"

"Are you waiting for the Non-Player Characters to appear?" Xu Biyun, a gaming fanatic asked, "I wonder what kind of enemies they’ll be..."

Just as Xu Biyun’s words faded, the rustle of synchronized footsteps and a cryptic language echoed from the cave, sounding extremely impassioned, likely some sort of rallying cry.

"They’re coming. Should we hide our rifles?" Dantai loaded his Type 95 rifle. All the newcomers retreated as far as possible from the iron fence, even arguing and pushing each other in fight for the best spots.

"I have a bad feeling about this, our weapons might be rendered useless." Tang Zheng took out a remote TNT explosive, throwing it into the cave.

The footsteps grew closer, then the overhead lights in the cave suddenly switched on. A dim yellow light filled the entire place, forcing people to close their eyes. Between his fingers, Tang Zheng saw several humanoid monsters standing before the iron fence.

"Half-beastmen?"

These creatures stood about two and a half meters tall, their bodies muscular and imposing. They wore grey combat suits, covered in grenades and ammo pouches. A futuristic heavy assault rifle hung on their chest via a sling, the barrel alone thicker than a thumb, making it clear how devastating its firepower could be.

With grotesque faces, sharp beast-like teeth and green skin, their breath sounded like a faulty fan when they exhaled. Every movement they made was swift and precise, exuding a ferocious murderous aura.
