After exiting the subway station, Tang Zheng drove back the BMP-3 Infantry Armored Car, immediately causing a stir. Watching the armored vehicle move through the snow, everyone felt that this journey would be safe.

Naturally, the ones privileged to enter the vehicle were essential figures. To curry favor, Old Pavel and the junior soldier’s Group Leader allowed entry as well. The diesel engine thundered, disrupting the silence of Moscow. Tubes of gray exhaust drifted into the sky, contributing to the desolate, empty feeling of the city.

If they travelled on foot, it would be nearly forty minutes to Red Square. It wasn’t a smooth journey either. Just ten minutes in, they encountered their first ghoul attack.

These monsters were mutated humans who suffered from radiation. After generations of propagation, they were losing the characteristics of humans. These monsters were small and skinny, terrifying facsimiles of skin and bones. They crawled on all fours, evolved sharp claws, and could even dig into smooth cement walls, moving as smoothly as geckoes.

They had no hair on their bodies, and their bald heads held a pair of large eyes that comprised a third of their faces and could see in the dark. Their eyes were filled with blood strands. Additionally, their sharp teeth, like those of wild beasts, drew the most attention.

"Beware of their claws and fangs. They can easily rip open your throats and skin, draining your blood." The infantry armored vehicle stopped, Old Pavel hurriedly emerged, shouting loudly to fill the female models in on the nature of ghouls. He could tell that these women were terrified.

Seeing the threatening ghouls rushing over, six of the female models wet their pants out of fear. They forgot to counterattack and ran towards the infantry armored vehicle. Liu Qian was crying loudly, begging Tang Zheng to let her in.

Li Meilian and Han Mei next to her were shaking so much that they couldn’t hold their firearms steady. When they finally picked up the guns, they discovered they hadn’t charged the gun, which made them sweat profusely.

The junior soldiers were a lot calmer. None of them were afraid. They just tightened the formation. Those on the outermost took a crouch position and started shooting. Those at the center were on guard and only fired at the ghouls once they approached within a dangerous twenty-meter radius.

These kids, living in the wasteland, had an impressive adaptation strength. They’ve already gotten the hang of using firearms after listening to Old Pavel’s explanation and firing a few rounds of bullets.

Thankfully, half of the twenty-odd ghouls were killed after entering the fifty-meter range.

"Our turn." Sholokhov reminded them and raised his SVD sniper rifle, quickly taking aim and taking down a ghoul.

"But what about bullets?" A wasteland inhabitant was reluctant to waste bullets and prepared to ask Tang Zheng for more before partaking in the battle.

Grigory and Pavel knew of Tang Zheng’s generosity and began shooting without any hesitation. The other wasteland inhabitants shared glances and joined in the attack after seeing this. Their shooting skills were far superior to the junior soldiers’ as they rapidly put down the rest of the ghouls.

"Pass it to all who have fired." Tang Zheng’s half body sprung out of the armored vehicle. He threw a packet of cigarettes to Sholokhov, "However many bullets you fire, I will replenish when we return."

"Thank you, Group Leader." Sholokhov hurriedly caught it and distributed it to his peers. Those who did not fire were jealous and decided they would be proactive in the next attack.

"Don’t help them. If they can’t endure, let them die." The group set off again. The junior soldiers found three female models too scared to move and went to help them but were prevented by Tang Zheng.

The female models pouted and cursed Tang Zheng for being cold-blooded in their hearts.

They annihilated three waves of ghouls along the way. Tang Zheng and the others finally reached Red Square. Standing on the road used for Russian military parades, Gao Wei was thrilled. Lu Fan then took out a DV and shot a video of everyone.

"Shout a few ’Hoorahs’!" Lu Fan asked the junior soldiers to pose, enjoying the moment.

Tang Zheng was holding a telescope, observing the Kremlin not far away. This once notorious eighth wonder of the world was now dilapidated. A small part of it had fallen down and turned into ruins. They were covered in white snow, cold and silent.

"That must be where the Russian president works, right?" Gao Wei took Gao Yu’s binoculars, looking for the highest building nearby.

"Enough fooling around, let’s go." Tang Zheng glanced at the Geiger counter, the radiation index was safe.

"This is supposed to be the capital, yet it was bombed. Was it intercontinental missiles or bomb planes?" Lu Fan stood on the war chariot, capturing scenes of the surroundings. If it weren’t for confidentiality, she would’ve already uploaded the video to the internet.

Other people did not have the luxury to be distracted. They were all holding rifles, carefully on guard against ghouls attacking them.

"This should be the president’s office." Dantai Zongqi parked the war chariot in front of a fairly intact building and climbed out of the driving cabin. "The sixth squad stays and guards the chariot; everyone else enters to search."

The junior soldiers looked at Tang Zheng, their group leader.

"Do as he says, the first and second squads, lead the way!" Tang Zheng was just a civilian, and of course, he wasn’t privy to certain secret information, which made him even more certain that Dantai was a special agent.
