Chapter 357: Chapter 47: Only Six People Left!
Several survivors suddenly scrambled out of the vehicle to escape, leaving the dinosaurs that had originally been sprinting towards the bus in a state of bewilderment. They then scattered, each chasing its designated prey.
Miranda knew that entering a building would be far safer, but she lagged, and as Jenny jumped down from the door of the bus to run towards the nearest hotel, several dinosaurs had already caught up, scaring Miranda back into her original spot. If she went down, what if they came back after her?
"That bastard. That hotel was mine first," Miranda grumbled, left with no choice but to find another building. This hesitation, however, allowed for a dozen dinosaurs to surround her, completely blocking her escape route.
Jack’s compulsive morality flared up again. He hadn’t even thought about escaping through the window. Instead, he grabbed the MG3 that Maggie had discarded in her haste to escape and began shooting frantically at the dinosaurs outside the window while moving closer to Julia.
Nicole sighed distressingly. She couldn’t abandon her father, and after intuitively glancing at Tang Zheng, she ran towards her father while shooting. However, she only had four ammo clips left, with no chance to resupply.
Little Lolita neither tried to escape nor defend from her window. Instead, she stood in the middle of the vehicle, her Pepper Grinder blazing as she shot at the encroaching dinosaurs.
"Uncle, watch out, the Tyrant is coming!" Lu Fan shouted to warn Tang Zheng. He then pulled out a bundle of cluster grenades, bit off the safety pin, and hurled them out the window.
Boom! Five or six dinosaurs were blown away. Flesh rained down, staining a large patch of the street red.
"Get into a building, quick!" Tang Zheng could have run into a room at the very first moment, but when he heard Demi’s cries, he couldn’t harden his heart - "What did the child do wrong?"
The Tyrant rose from the ground and charged the bus again. Another dinosaur rammed into the bus first, causing the vehicle to skid several meters across the ground and finally roll over with a loud bang.
"Armature!" Tang Zheng summoned his power and jumped out of the window. "Fanfan, run! Don’t think about helping me."
"Be careful, uncle." Lu Fan bit his lip and also jumped out the window, without any hesitation, he sprinted towards a nearby office building. However, his eyes incessantly scanned his surroundings, "There must be a way to help uncle."
"Stay with Lu Fan." Seeing Tang Zheng locked in combat with the formidable Tyrant, Miranda decided not to rely on him anymore. She gestured to Jack to follow Lu Fan quickly.
"That’s it, let’s lead the dinosaurs and Tyrant to Robert." Lu Fan suddenly changed his course, heading towards Robert’s retreating figure.
"What is he trying to do?" Miranda hesitated. Glancing at the office building ten meters away, she abandoned the idea of going there alone and ran after Lu Fan, "It’s a gamble."
The valiant Armature reappeared, appearing and smashing a Tyrannosaurus several meters away with a mighty blow. A roar echoed as it leapt back into the fray, creating a riot of earth and oily flesh.
Thud, thud, one dinosaur after another was sent flying out of the circle. There were no flashy techniques--only a brutal, savage force met with force.
"Tang is drawing their fire for us, I’ll go help him." Jack had just rescued Julia when he followed Lu Fan. Now, seeing Tang doing his best to draw the bulk of the enemy’s fire, he gripped his rifle, ready to help, not a hint of hesitation on his face.
"Are you going to add trouble?" Nicole was furious, clutching his sleeve tightly to stop him from leaving. "I beg you, please run," she urged.
Tang Zheng finally felt the weight of absolute power. After holding off the Tyrant for just five seconds, he was smashed in the chest with a direct punch, sending him flying over a dozen meters.
The Tyrant, having just been roughed up, was now in a state of anger. Its body, fifty times stronger than the average person, was firing on all cylinders, ready to tear everything before him to shreds.
Cough, Tang Zheng spat out a mouthful of blood. If not for the Firefly armor, his ribcage would’ve been undoubtedly shattered. Seeing the distance increase between them, he didn’t play the fool to continue the attack, but instead got to his feet and ran towards the office building where Robert had entered. He was a mere seven meters in front of Danny, with Lu Fan and the others ahead.
The Tyrant was unwilling to allow any of its prey to escape, making a sudden dash and seizing the opportunity to drive a knee into Tang Zheng’s back.
Poor Tang Zheng was immediately sent sprawling again, rolling a dozen meters across the street. Danny, seeing Tang surpass him in such a posture, was terrified - wasn’t this a clear sign that he was the closest to the Tyrant?
Danny didn’t dare to look back and started sprinting. However, in the next moment, the Tyrant appeared right next to him, landing a kick directly to his head.
Crack. Danny’s head remained in place, while his body continued to rush forward because of inertia. His neck visibly stretched and bent, and his eyeballs were almost popping out due to the impact. Blood rushed to his face. The assault wasn’t over yet; the Tyrant grabbed his hand, yanked him up, then slammed him hard onto the ground.
Splat, Danny coughed up a mouthful of blood. The sound of his fractures echoed on the street, sending shivers down everyone’s spine. As he was trying to catch his breath, the Tyrant’s foot pressed on his head, shattering his skull.
"It’s coming." Miranda watched the Tyrant leap overhead, almost fainting from fear. But the beast did not attack them; it merely threw a handful of black dust at them before running straight towards the building.
"Going after Robert? This guy wants to wipe us all out!" Instead of rejoicing, everyone else felt a chill crawling up their spines.
This situation was exactly what Tang Zheng wanted, he hoped that Robert could exhaust the Tyrant’s strength. From their previous clash, he had already noticed that the Tyrant had been injured, suffering the impact of the high-explosive grenade, several of its teeth had been shattered and its brow bone had swelled.
"Shouldn’t we hide somewhere else?" Miranda anxiously suggested as the concern for the mission had already eluded her mind, and a sentence of Lu Fan made her feel like she had fallen into an ice pit.
"What is this disgusting powder? Isn’t it what the Tyrant uses to track his prey?"
At the same time, Jenni, who had just stepped onto the hotel staircase, was caught up by Tyrannosaurus.
"Help me!" Along with the call, there were several gunshots, and then Jenni’s half body was swallowed by the fastest Tyrannosaurus. It chewed a few times, and Jenni’s lower body fell to the ground, the fresh blood stained the staircase red.
Everyone instinctively looked in Natalie’s direction, but there was only a group of dinosaurs huddled together, tearing a ragged corpse into pieces. Outside of the Dinosaur Group, an arm lay abandoned.
The martial powerhouse struggled to fight, but some dinosaurs still charged towards Lu Fan’s group.
Little Lolita released Sasha’s ability, with a loud rumble, a wall rose from the ground leading to the office building. The upper part of the wall then curved downwards, forming an arc, perfectly defending Lu Fan’s group beneath it. However, the impact of the enormous dinosaurs shook the dirt wall, causing rubble to fall.
Lu Fan’s face turned red, and his life energy burst out, reinforcing the dirt wall.
"Warrior." Tang Zheng skillfully dodged the attacks of two Tyrannosaurs, and as he passed beneath them, he raised his right hand and fired the Thunderball, immediately dismantling their lower jaws and necks. Blood and flesh rained down.
As soon as Tang Zheng stepped into the office lobby, he saw the Tyrant grab Maggie’s wrist and brutally tore her arm off. Robert lay in the rubble of the front desk, blood trailing from the corners of his mouth as he struggled to raise his Gauss Rifle, aiming at the Tyrant’s head. His right leg was bent irregularly, clearly broken.
With a sizzle, the energy beam hit the Tyrant’s face, eliciting the first scream of pain. His original motion to twist Maggie’s neck changed into a more vicious slap.
Following the palm strike loaded with wind power, Maggie’s neck was instantly torn open, blood gushing from her face. Even the expression of struggle from suffocation hadn’t had time to solidify on her face.
Clatter, Maggie’s head broke the glass door and rolled onto the street.
"Ah!" Miranda stopped in her tracks at the sight of a disheveled head rolling to her feet.
Tang Zheng rushed up and his right fist hit the Tyrant’s head. He saw the latter’s left eye was entirely black, obviously blinded.
With a thud, the Tyrant kicked Tang Zheng away and pounced on Robert. He was its primary attack target, considering that even now, over ninety percent of the wounds on the Tyrant’s body had been inflicted by Robert.
This Ranger was quite pitiful, he had been subduing the Tyrant with precise shots, but ironically this became the cause for him to be prioritized and killed.
The Tyrant grabbed Robert’s head, who understood he was going to be crushed, therefore he smiled miserably. He pressed his Gauss Rifle against the Tyrant’s chest, pouring his life energy into the energy beam
"Haha, let’s die together!"
With a splash, Robert’s head was crushed, and the Tyrant was hit by the energy beam. It was flung backwards. This final attack, which was infused with Robert’s life energy, was extremely lethal. It directly blew open the Tyrant’s skin and muscles, revealing the terrible sight of its white ribs and the beating of its heart.
But the Tyrant didn’t die, it stood up, spilling a pool of thick blood on the ground, but it didn’t care, it glared at Tang Zheng with malice,
Click, the Gauss Rifle fell on the floor. Tang Zheng rushed forward without any fear. He wanted to fight, but he couldn’t find the feeling.
The Tyrant’s fist smashed into Tang Zheng’s cheek, He tried to dodge and counterattack, but the Tyrant was too fast, and his fist still landed on Tang Zheng’s shoulder. Tang Zheng was punched out and because he was thrown out of the door too fast, his ear scraped against the broken glass door and was cut off.
The Tyrant dashed out and instantly caught up with Tang Zheng, beating him madly. All he could do was protect his head with his hands and endure the beating, blood spurted out with his every breath.
With a thud, the Tyrant grabbed Tang Zheng’s ankle and swung him to the ground. At that moment, Tang Zheng felt his internal organs were about to be shaken out of place.
With Tang Zheng serving as a distraction, the Warrior finally caught up. The Warhammer hit the Tyrant’s head, knocking it away. Had he been a step too late, Tang Zheng would have been done for.
The Tyrant steadied himself, but didn’t continue to chase Tang Zheng. Instead, he pounced towards Lu Fan and his group.
Watching this, Tang Zheng was furious. If the Tyrant got close, they were certain to be annihilated. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendations, monthly tickets at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
