Chapter 356: Chapter 46: The Final 10 Minutes of Major Staff Reduction_2

"It’s pierced." Robert shouted in excitement. Through the aiming scope, he could see the skin on the Tyrant’s chest had been torn, starting to bleed.

The tumbling Tyrant suddenly reached out a hand and dug into the ground, creating a deep trench in the cement road, forcibly halting its tumble.

Shit, Robert didn’t expect the Tyrant to pull that move and his preliminary trajectory calculations were off, his energy beam missed. Although he quickly adjusted, the Tyrant started to move unpredictably, while also emitting a loud whistle.

The armed velociraptors rushed forward at full speed, the Tyrant leapt up, trying to get on, but Tang Zheng’s Thunderball hit it mid-leap, causing it to fall.

"Don’t let it mount," Robert also shouted, he tried to shoot at the head of the velociraptor, but it dodged elegantly.

The previously sparse gunshots at the front of the carriage intensified, evidently encountering an attack from a dinosaur group.

"We can’t hold on, there are too many." David spat out anxiously, with the closest dinosaur already within five meters, he also activated his ability.

"Use Danny’s gun." Tang Zheng and Robert couldn’t spare any attention, any slight decrease in their firepower would allow the Tyrant to seize the opportunity to charge them.

"FU.CK, we are going to be annihilated." Robert cursed, he was kind of missing Leonard now. Though the man had a lousy character, he was powerful, certainly more competent than Danny and Maggie, and David was just a brute. If it wasn’t for Tang Zheng, they would have been wiped out long ago.

"Dead." Maggie picked up Danny’s MG3, and managed to kill the Tyrannosaurus just before it hit, barely in time.

"Careful, it’s going to hit." Natalie couldn’t turn, she simply drove over the Tyrannosaurus’ corpse, causing a severe jolt in the bus.

Everyone in the carriage toppled over, unable to maintain their balance. Robert and Tang Zheng in the back of the carriage misfired their shots. The Tyrant immediately seized the three-seconds gap and successfully leaped onto its mount.

The Tyrant was thoroughly enraged by now, having been suppressed and beaten up until this point. As soon as it bolstered its position on the raptor’s back, it reached for the gun bag hanging near the raptor’s neck, pulled out a dragon bone spear, and after evading an energy beam, he threw it.

Zing! The rapidly hurled spear was almost faster than lightning. Before Tang Zheng could shout a warning, the spear had been loosed into the carriage.

Jenny and Miranda had always been more observant and had been paying close attention to the the fight behind them. When they saw the Tyrant draw his spear, they prepared to dodge, carefully shifting to the side, so they were able to duck in time. Julia kept her daughter hidden behind the mount, which shielded her from harm, the others just had to rely on their reflexes.

In the ensuing chaos, David, who was concentrating on clearing the path ahead, was the unluckiest. Upon hearing Tang Zheng’s shout, instead of ducking, he turned around, and was hit in the back by the spear. Though his protective clothing prevented the spear from puncturing him, the bone-breaking sound was still audible.

David spat out a mouthful of blood, his body slamming into the windshield. Jack reached out to grab him but another spear was already on its way.

"Dad!" Nicole was startled and rushed forth to block the spear for him, but it was too fast for her to reach in time, ironically saving her own life.

The spear pierced Jack’s scapula and then hit David, who was already hanging outside the car window. This added force pushed him out completely, he rolled out from the hood of the bus, immediately followed by a jolt in the bus.

Natalie let out a scream, not just her, everyone’s face was aghast as they all understood the reason for that jolt was the bus running over David.

"Stay focused." Miranda shouted, took a breath, and felt regretful, David must have had the Golden Single Horn with him, which would now go to waste.

Another spear was shot out of the carriage but everyone had learned their lesson and ducked, not daring to lift their heads.

"What should I do?" Only Natalie was anxious, looking at the spears flying out of the car window. A warm flow spread between legs as she wet herself. She couldn’t be blamed, she was the only one driving and had no way to dodge the spears, at risk of being shot at any moment.

"Don’t panic, the Tyrant isn’t throwing spears anymore." Robert hurriedly yelled, if the bus stopped, they would be taken down easily, especially since his melee combat ability was weak.

He hadn’t thrown the javelins yet, because with the Tyrant’s three javelins holding Tang Zheng and Robert back, and the Velociraptors charging, they had already entered within ten meters of the bus. He had just picked up two javelins and crouched on the saddle, which just a moment ago he had used to blow up the head of David, who was lying on the ground.

"What does this monster want to do?" Robert fired again but missed. "Is it trying to jump up here?"

"Definitely, everyone, get behind me!" Tang Zheng drew out an AT4, disregarding if the flame would injure anyone.

The Tyrant leapt from the saddle, rushing towards the roof of the bus.

"Die." Tang Zheng instantly caught the figure of the Tyrant, judging the lead, he fired.

With a bang, the Tyrant’s face was instantly scorched by the high-explosive grenade, and he fell from mid-air. However, he grabbed the ground with his hand to stop his momentum and started charging again.

"I see the teleportation gate. We’re a hundred meters away." After turning a corner, Jenny excitedly shouted, but the very next moment her face filled with panic as a horde of dinosaurs surged from a fork in the road on their left side, blocking their path.

"We can’t hold on." Jenny screamed, shouting, "We’re going to crash."

Lu Fan’s pepper grinder was desperately firing, but the number of dinosaurs was simply overwhelming.

"Move!" Tang Zheng cursed, abandoning the rear of the vehicle, quickly rushed forward, shooting as he ran. He had to ensure the road ahead was safe; if they were to stop, they’d surely be torn to pieces by the horde of dinosaurs.

Thunderballs spewed out crazily, the ammo clip was emptied in less than ten seconds. The dinosaurs at the forefront were immediately shot down, but before anyone could feel relieved, Robert’s shout rang out.

"The Tyrant is on the roof."

Thump, everyone felt a violent shake on the bus. A dent appeared on the roof, and the Tyrant began to pound on it, trying to get inside.

"Robert, shoot the dinosaurs ahead." They could only allow the Tyrant to wreak havoc. If they were to fire, the bullets would pierce the roof of the bus, which would only aid the Tyrant.

Obviously, Robert had thought of this too. He charged to the front, shooting at the dinosaurs blocking their path. However, there were simply too many dinosaurs, and they couldn’t be killed in time, allowing them to catch up to the bus.

"Get onto the sidewalk." Upon hearing Tang Zheng’s roar, Natalie quickly turned the steering wheel and drove onto the sidewalk.

"Fire." Dinosaurs pounced from all directions. The newbies were somewhat stunned, unsure of where to defend.

Thump, thump. After struggling for nearly twenty seconds, a Tyrannosaurus finally knocked the bus over, and the Tyrant on the roof finally ripped a hole through it with brute force. If it weren’t for the sudden turnover of the bus causing it to lose balance, it would have broken in the next second.

Fortuitously, the bus rolled twice but didn’t fall sideways. This actually gave everyone a better chance to escape. Jenny didn’t hesitate. The first one, she pounced towards the bus door, leaped down the bus, and dashed towards the nearest hotel with all her strength. She wanted to use the buildings to evade the pursuit of the dinosaurs.

At that moment, Jenny was very determined. She had thought of huddling up to Tang Zheng, but too many people wanted to rely on him. Jenny knew she would never be one of them, so she simply escaped first.

Julia instantly went looking for her daughter, Demi, who was injured and crying because of the bus flipping over. She didn’t abandon her to escape. Maggie moved closer to Robert to see what he would do. He clearly knew of his close-range weaknesses, disregarding everyone; he jumped out of the carriage through the glass window, and desperately sprinted away.

Natalie glanced at Danny one last time when she was opening the door. It just so happened that he was heading towards her. But without any hesitation, in the next second, she resolutely rushed towards the closest building.

In this moment, everyone reacted out of pure instinct. (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote on qidian.com. Your support is my biggest motivation.)
