Chapter 351 - 42: The City of Dragons and its Fall

Chapter 351: Chapter 42: The City of Dragons and its Fall

The hunt of a Tyrannosaurus essentially depends on its superb biting power and massive size ruthlessly crushing its prey. After all, the Cretaceous period was a time when the larger the size, the stronger the force. But now everything was suppressed by the armed warriors. They were equal in strength and even specialized in attacking the Tyrannosaurus’ head. Once it fell to the ground, the Tyrannosaurus lost most of its advantage, especially since it didn’t have sharp claws.

The Tyrannosaurus struggled, each time trying to chew up the body of the armed warrior, but all it met with was a heavy blow that deformed its head.

Lu Fan tied the Tyrannosaurus’ feet with a sand rope, binding it, while Tang Zheng ran up to its side with an AT4, pressed it against its relatively weak belly, pulled the trigger, then discarded it and pulled out another one.

Bang, bang, the first armor-piercing bullet blew up in the Tyrannosaurus’ abdomen, tearing the scales, the second directly penetrated and mashed its internal organs.

The exhausted Jack and his daughter, seeing Tang Zheng running by, were startled. They wanted to call him back but were shocked when they saw him massacring the Tyrannosaurus, their jaws dropping to the ground.

The little Lolita laughed gleefully, running past them, causing their jaws to drop again.

Seeing that the situation was under control, Miranda hurried over, hoping to get a share of the loot.

"This time we got four Golden Horns." Grinning, Lu Fan handed the bloody crystals to Tang Zheng, "Second mission achieved."

Jack went over to thank Tang Zheng, not coveting the Golden Horn.

"Tang, how did you guys shake off the Tyrannosaurus that was chasing you?" Nicole’s face was full of curiosity. Her attitude had improved a lot since being saved, "We were so unlucky. We managed to escape but ran into another on the way to the Teleportation Gate."

"We slaughtered it, of course." Said Lu Fan proudly before running over to Derek, the unfortunate fellow was stomped into the soil, panting heavily. Seeing Lu Fan approach, he tried to ask for help, but coughed up a gush of blood instead.

"Serious injury, beyond rescue." Shaking his head, Lu Fan turned and walked away.

"You two took down two Tyrannosaurs?" Jack and his daughter marveled. As for Derek, it’s good enough that he wasn’t taught a lesson, and he even tried to sabotage them.

"Tang, can you give me one?" This was a matter of life-saving. Miranda asked directly without being polite. Nicole also wanted one, but she was too proud to ask.

"One each." Tang Zheng didn’t mind and gave each of them one. Nicole was very happy, but Miranda’s mouth twitched. This bastard, this was all he had to pay for sleeping with her. It was too cheap for him.

"Why the rush? We haven’t slaughtered the tyrant yet, and there are bound to be more armed Tyrannosaurs hunting us." Lu Fan glanced at Milada, "You didn’t do anything and got two, aren’t you satisfied?"

Miranda knew she was a bit greedy, but she couldn’t help it, she didn’t want to die. However, seducing Tang Zheng really paid off, and at this moment, she was glad for her actions last night.

"Let’s get going." Tang Zheng didn’t care about Miranda’s little schemes, returned to the waterfall, the Teleportation Gate was still standing, apart from the chaotic footprints, there was no trace of blood.

"Looks like no one else has come!" Lu Fan looked out and asked, "Shall we leave first?"

"Let’s not wait." Tang Zheng entered the Teleportation Gate, and the others quickly followed.

When their vision returned, they found themselves on a rooftop deck. The raptor mounts they were riding had disappeared and did not come through the Teleportation Gate. But all the newbies were elated, not caring about these details, because the bustling noise blended with the car horns assaulted their eardrums. This sound was familiar, the melody of the city.

"It’s a modern city." Miranda ran to the edge of the rooftop, gripping the protective fence, looking down with delight, "I’m going to make a phone call and arrange for bodyguards and bulletproof cars. Humph, what are dinosaurs? I’m going to exterminate them."

"Calm down, Trojan wouldn’t transport you back to a modern city." Tang Zheng also walked over, looking down at the street below, "See, they even keep pet dinosaurs, could this be in modern times?"

"Pet? Where?" Lu Fan’s eyes lit up, he dashed over, pressing against the protective fence and tiptoeing to survey the main street.

One third of the citizens on the street were leading leashes. But these weren’t attached to little dogs, but to mini dinosaur pets of various kinds.

"A Tyrannosaurus smaller than a Husky? I want one too!" Lu Fan was so envious he was drooling, "Bringing it out for a walk would be so cool, hmm, it’s walking a dragon!"

"They must be genetically bred. In this city, raising dragons seems to be a trend and a habit." Tang Zheng, peering through his telescope, had already spotted several shops selling dragon food and even pet hospitals.

Miranda’s face fell in disappointment, and she slumped onto the ground.

"Tang, you guys made it out too!" Mars suddenly popped out from the elevator room on the rooftop, waving cheerfully.

"You’re quite nimble." Miranda, rolling her eyes, had already guessed why he appeared here. Clearly, he had slipped away while others were serving as bait.

"Wrong choice of words. We gallantly slew the Tyrannosaurus and then were transported here." Lu Fan corrected, asking "How long have you been here? What’s this building for?"

Everyone else was looking at him, waiting for an answer, but Mars looked rather uncomfortable. He obviously hadn’t done anything after passing through the teleportation gate and had been hiding in the elevator.

"Right, we’re in an American city." Mars exclaimed.

"No shit, I even know it’s New York." Tang Zheng took out the map, figuring this must be the last stop. The route was still glowing and it was long.

"It’s a hospital, I saw doctors in white lab coats coming in and out of the building." Lu Fan observed in great detail, and wasn’t blindly admiring the dinosaur pets.

"We can’t wait any longer. What if the Tyrannosaurus rex kills them and tracks us through the teleportation gate?" Mars didn’t dare to leave alone, but now that he had companions, he naturally wanted to leave.

Nobody answered him because the entire city suddenly started shaking.

"Is it an earthquake?" Lu Fan moved away from the defense net, hurriedly scrambling to the door, but the vibrations were too strong to maintain balance and he fell on the rooftop.

The floor under Nicole’s feet suddenly cracked, and she fell into the hole. Tang Zheng swiftly grabbed her collar to keep her from falling. As he was about to leap away from the dangerous area, the floor under his feet also collapsed, and everyone fell into the floor below.

"Cover your head." Tang Zheng only had time to shout before he was overwhelmed by the shattered wall.

Dust filled the air and coughing sounds were everywhere. Nicole opened her eyes to find everything dark, and was shocked. Only then she realized she was in Tang Zheng’s arms.

The earthquake lasted only a minute, but people were overthrown everywhere in the streets. The people in the buildings were constantly running out, gathering on the streets, and in no time, the crowd was packed.

"Fanfan, are you alright?" Tang Zheng yelled, standing up by shoving away the rooftop chunks from above with his right arm.

"Cough, cough... such a shoddy construction, very harmful." Lu Fan grumbled with enough energy, showing he was alright. Seeing the blood on Tang Zheng’s left cheek, he rushed over anxiously from the rubble, pulling out a bottle of water to wash his wound.

"Luckily, the teleportation gate didn’t break." Tang Zheng saw that the gate had fallen down but was still intact, and he breathed a sigh of relief.

"We should take advantage of the empty building and run." Mars looked at the deserted ward and covered his nose; he hated the smell of disinfectant.

"Huh, why is the street so noisy?" Lu Fan frowned and directly ordered, "Mars, go check."

Reluctantly, Mars walked to the edge of the broken wall and took a peek, then froze in shock, "Teleportation gates, there are so many more teleportation gates on the streets, and the citizens are watching."

"What’s happening?" Jack also leaned over and looked down.

"It must be the ancient invasion, think about the last abandoned city we encountered." Before Lu Fan could finish speaking, the noise from the street disappeared completely because the teleportation gates lit up, and a large group of massive carnivorous dinosaurs appeared on the street.

The citizens were still in shock, but the dinosaurs had already started their attack. They roared and ran wildly, killing the nearest citizens, and blood splattered in large quantities on Main Street.

In an instant, panic and screams filled the entire city. The citizens cried and ran in panic, no longer caring about their mini pet dragons.

"It’s doomsday!" After putting a band-aid on Tang Zheng’s forehead, Lu Fan quickly ran to the edge of the broken wall, pulled out his DV, and started recording the scene. This was way more realistic than films. If he posted the video online, it would definitely get over a hundred million views.

"Stop playing and count how many teleportation gates there are." Tang Zheng slapped Lolita’s head and looked at the street. The crowd was so dense that some unlucky ones were pushed forward, and if they weren’t killed by the dinosaurs, they were trampled to death.

"I spotted five." Lu Fan reluctantly put his DV down and took out his telescope to observe.

"What should we do?" Mars kept looking back and forth, worried that a dinosaur might jump out from the teleportation gate behind them.

"Wait, it’s too chaotic now. It’s no use going out." Tang Zheng pointed at Mars, "You wait here to welcome people. Change shifts in an hour."

"No, don’t leave me behind." Mars grabbed Tang Zheng’s arm. He didn’t dare to stay alone at this time, but he also didn’t dare to disobey Tang Zheng’s orders, so he suggested nervously, "How about letting Jack stay with me?"

"Alright, let’s go find a safe hideout first." Tang Zheng went out of the room first. In fact, he had several cans of spray paint and could have left a message on the ground. But if nobody saw it, that would be terrible, so he decided to arrange for someone to stay.

"This city is done for." Jack started to feel compassionate again, watching those gigantic dinosaurs chasing and killing citizens everywhere, he sighed deeply.

"Can’t you squat down? What if we are discovered?" Mars didn’t care about any of that, and with a forceful pull on Jack’s arm, he dragged him away from the broken wall. (To be continued.
