Chapter 341: Chapter 34: Raptor Mount_2
He pulled out his electronic stick to scan the corpse, and a series of introductions appeared on the screen.
"Dragon Bone Natives, aboriginals who lived during the Cretaceous Period, masters of this era. The harsh natural environment has forged their powerful bodies, enabling them to even hunt Tyrannosaurs for food. The physical fitness of common aboriginals equals twice that of normal humans, elite warriors four to five times, and the tribal leader - the tyrant, is even more formidable, capable of tearing Tyrannosaurs apart with bare hands."
"Dragon Bone Natives are skilled in combat and possess a natural Dragon Taming Technique, able to tame various dinosaurs as mounts."
"The tyrant unintentionally unearthed some Teleportation Gate devices from an ancient relic, which, after being deciphered by the tribal shaman, allowed them for the first time to enter modern human society two years ago. After experiencing a leisurely life, all Dragon Bone tribes of the Cretaceous Period joined forces and initiated their conquest of humans, aiming to seize this land."
"I thought ’tyrant’ referred to the king among dinosaurs." Tang Zheng’s lips twitched slightly in response. Apparently, his third mission was not to kill dinosaurs, but to kill the leader of the Dragon Bone Natives’ tribe. This must be a joke. Even a modest tribe must have a couple of hundreds of members. Just the presence of some thirty elite warriors would suffice to overwhelm Tang Zheng.
There were nine corpses destroyed by the bomb, of course, they couldn’t be collected as spoils of war. Besides, Tang Zheng didn’t want to touch those charred corpses, so he returned to the fifth floor to check the headless corpse.
"A true aboriginal, haven’t washed in a year, huh?" Tang Zheng pinched his nose. Even though the air was thick with the scent of blood, it couldn’t mask the abominable body odor emanating from the aboriginal. It rushed straight into Tang Zheng’s nostrils, causing him to sneeze heavily. He started worrying that he might catch some sort of bacteria, and he hadn’t had his immunity strengthened.
However, after finding a wooden rod, as thick as a finger and perforated, and scanning it with the electronic stick, Tang Zheng showed a smile.
"Dragon Taming Flute, through specific notes, can scatter and attract dinosaurs, and also control tamed dinosaur mounts."
Just as Tang Zheng regretfully found no sheet music on the corpse, the electronic stick listed the most basic five usage methods. What cheered him up more was the discovery of two Dragon Bone Chargers.
"Dragon Bone Charger, an ancient relic item, a device to recharge the Teleportation Gate. If you turn the button counterclockwise, it’ll become a Dragon Bone Bomb, destroying the Teleportation Gate."
These chargers were flat iron pancakes the size of a palm, with a knob. There were words written at the nine o’clock and three o’clock directions that Tang Zheng couldn’t understand.
Tang Zheng juggled the Dragon Bone Bomb in his hands and frowned. It appeared that these aboriginals had come to recharge the Teleportation Gate. If he took them away, and if the Teleportation Gate disappeared, what would happen to David and the others who couldn’t cross?
"There must be other Teleportation Gates, but that would also separate us from them." He didn’t know when he would be able to snatch another Dragon Bone Bomb, so Tang Zheng didn’t want to waste it and decided to wait and see.
Although he expected David and the others might expose his hiding place when they saw these corpses, he didn’t clean up but left the shopping mall.
There were ten dinosaur mounts standing quietly on the steps. Seeing Tang Zheng, they immediately became agitated and charged towards him. Despite being tamed, they still held onto their predatory traits.
Tang Zheng quickly blew on the whistle, producing two long and one short notes. The mounts immediately calmed down, looking at him bewilderedly, confused about why they suddenly had a new owner.
Bleh bleh! Seeing that he had truly controlled the dinosaur mounts, Tang Zheng was elated for a moment but then furrowed his brows, incessantly spitting out saliva. The thought that the aboriginals had also put their mouths on this flute made him nauseous and wanting to vomit.
"Raptor mounts, belonging to the Dromaeosauridae family, excel at running and are very tame towards their master."
"Heh, now I can also say I’ve ridden a dragon." Seeing the introduction on the screen, Tang Zheng was very satisfied. But when he approached the raptor, he frowned. These dinosaurs stood three meters tall, and even their backs were nearly two and a half meters above the ground. Climbing up was no small task.
Looking at the filthy and muddy saddle, Tang Zheng picked the healthiest and best-looking raptor, stepped on the stirrup, and jumped onto it.
"Uncle." Lu Fan, who had been monitoring the mall, saw Tang Zheng appear at the door, and shouted from his hiding place; he ran out of an office building several minutes later.
Tang Zheng flicked the reins and rode the slow-moving dragon over.
"Uncle, you’re awesome, Fanfan wants a ride too." Lu Fan clapped his hands, his gaze swept over the dinosaurs behind Tang Zheng and pointed at one with unique patterns, "I want this one."
"Go ahead and try." Tang Zheng dismounted and threw the dragon taming flute to Lu Fan, preparing himself for an attack. However, his worry was pointless, the raptors remained calm.
Tang Zheng lifted Lu Fan onto the dinosaur, the little loli shouting joyfully. Yet, she soon quieted down. Jenny and others mustered their courage to approach, and Julia was particularly thrilled. With these dinosaur mounts, they’d save a lot of energy and it would be much easier to escape when needed.
"Tang, did you kill them all?" Jenny asked Tang Zheng, looking towards the Teleportation Gate, "David and the others will be jealous of your powerful force once they know this."
"I have decided to part ways with David. The Teleportation Gates are scarce, we must act first. You are free to leave if you wish. I won’t stop anyone." Tang Zheng laid all his cards on the table, his indifferent gaze sweeping over the three women. He lied.
Kailin and Jenny were taken aback, instantly taking defense. What did this mean?
"I’m with you." Julia couldn’t wait for everyone else to leave. She asked Tang Zheng, "Could you help me tame a mount?"
"Sure." Tang Zheng casually grabbed a rein and pulled over a dinosaur, "Let’s go cut some meat and then find a place to have a good sleep."
The two women stood on the spot, not knowing what to do, with sweat dripping from their anxious faces.
"Uncle, what if they leave and spill our secret?" Without Tang Zheng’s explanation, Lu Fan understood his meaning.
"Feed them to the dinosaurs if they leak our secret? Whose account should that go on?" Tang Zheng laughed, "What’s the trouble if they leak our secret? We are not in a rush, let’s treat it as a tour."
"Send David to his death, you grab the spoils of war. Uncle, how cunning!" Lu Fan looked at Tang Zheng with a broad grin, pleased as punch.
Kailin wanted to leave. She didn’t trust Tang Zheng’s true color. Jenny was hesitant, mainly because Julia was likely to share Tang Zheng’s heart. He definitely wouldn’t save her. But following David had the risk of becoming cannon fodder, and there were too many people, what should she do if she couldn’t grab the spoils of war?
"At least in the situation just now, Tang wouldn’t push us out as cannon fodder." Jenny murmured, dared not to hesitate anymore, afraid that Tang Zheng would get angry. She took a rein, climbed up the saddle, and tried to ride.
Kailin sighed and decided to wait and see the situation unfold.
"Uncle, they are still trying to scheme." Lu Fan scoffed, they were dreaming if they thought they could benefit from him.
"I don’t care. It’s better to have more people. At least when facing enemies, They won’t only be chasing after us." Tang came to the side of the dead tyrannosaurus’ body, cut off some meat, looked at the time, it was getting late, so they decided to find a place to stay.
On the other side of the Teleportation Gate, David and Robert finally couldn’t stay calm as dusk fell. Although they were trying to pretend to be calm, their frequent glances at the Teleportation Gate revealed their anxiety.
"I said we should have followed them earlier, what should we do now?" Miranda gloated. Several hours had passed. Either Tang Zheng was dead, or he had escaped. Obviously, everyone knew it was the latter, since Tang Zheng was too strong.
"He might real1ly be in danger, we should help Tang." Jack still had so much chivalry spirit, but nobody responded.
"You go if you want to." Stevenson cursed, leaning angrily against the clay wall, "What to do tonight? If the chameleon lizards attacked during the night, we’d be done for."
This comment startled everyone, they subconsciously looked around. The ragged small town under the setting sun seemed so deserted that it carried a sense of tranquility. The insects’ chirps and the birds’ calls didn’t help them appreciate the natural beauty, rather, they enhanced their fear. It felt like great dangers were lurking in every shadow. (To be continued.
