Chapter 316: Chapter 15: Inflatable Boat VS Wooden Raft

Tang Zheng hadn’t answered yet when Miranda started to invite him too.

"Tang, want to join us?" Although she didn’t understand why Tang Zheng had declined David, she saw this as an opportunity to have a strong teammates and didn’t want to give up.

"You go and invite him to join our team." Mars, who was pruning the branches off tree trunks, saw this and spoke in a low voice, encouraging Rolin nearby to try. Women can be really advantageous during moments like this.

"Do you really think that much of that yellow monkey? Even without him, we can survive." Stevenson, who was chopping wood at one side, spat out thick phlegm onto the ground after hearing this. He didn’t look at Tang Zheng, but stared fixedly at Rolin. Due to her squatting down, her professional woman suit tightly outlined her buttocks. The edge of her skirt slipped up, revealing the edge of her black stockings suspenders. She wasn’t wearing high-heels, just stepping directly on the rotting, wet soil. There were a few holes in her stockings, revealing the skin of her legs.

Chris didn’t want to waste an ounce of energy, so even though the protective clothing was very tight on her, she didn’t put on the capri pants and suspender shirt to cover up.

"There’s no chance." Rolin took a quick glance at Tang Zheng and continued with her work. "You guys shouldn’t be idling either, we have to get the raft ready before David does."

"Sorry, I already have a team member." Tang Zheng pointed at Jack, who was currently chopping vines with the chopper he’d given him. Nicole was trying to dissuade him, but to no avail.

"Don’t be ungrateful." Danny was furious. Just who did this kid think he was? Leonard, on the other hand, was looking at Tang Zheng in confusion, whispering questions to Maggie, seemingly wanting to ascertain whether Tang Zheng was mentally ill.

"That’s really unfortunate. Do you need us to help you make the raft?" Miranda hadn’t given up and continued showing kindness. She actually didn’t want to be in a group with these people and had been planning to join David’s or Tang Zheng’s team all along. She looked down on both Mars’s and Arthur’s teams as she thought they were too weak. Also, if she were to join any of these teams, she wouldn’t have the final say and would surely end up being manipulated.

"Thanks, but no need." Lu Fan, cheerfully declined and then dragged Tang Zheng towards Jack.

"Don Quixote, are you still dreaming?" Tang Zheng looked at the few tree trunks that had been chopped with the thickness of a rice bowl and shook his head. "This is too inefficient."

"Tang, he’s my father." Nicole came up to Tang Zheng. She wanted him to help persuade, but he ended up ridiculing them instead. She promptly pinched his thigh in response.

Tang Zheng didn’t feel any pain, but he hissed and made a face of imploring for mercy. Nicole finally released him, satisfied.

"Changed your mind yet?" Jack was very stubborn, but he didn’t get angry just because he was rejected. His personality was truly strange.

Lu Fan amusingly went to pull the vine, all the newbies had also started working. Everyone was busy, except for Tang Zheng.

"Hurry up and help us, our raft will be storming the sea soon." Nicole grabbed Tang Zheng’s arm, wanting to work with him.

Tang Zheng, even if he was a fool, could see Nicole’s affectionate attitude towards him. So, he pressed his lips to her ear.

"I have an inflatable boat."

"Really?" Nicole’s face was full of disbelief and excitement. Seeing Tang Zheng nod his head, she couldn’t help standing on her toes and giving him a kiss. "You’re terrific."

"Your boyfriend should be a knight, not this unsympathetic Eastern kid." Jack saw Lu Fan pull a vine for him and thanked him with a smile.

Tang Zheng rolled his eyes. This guy’s personality was too weird. Plus, he was getting a bit irritated. He hadn’t laid a finger on Jack’s daughter yet. Why was he being lectured? So, his hand reached down behind Nicole and touched her buttocks.

Nicole felt an extra hand on her butt and was startled. She immediately slapped it away. She subconsciously looked around, and after making sure no one had noticed, let out a sigh of relief. She then glared at Tang Zheng and tried to leave.

Tang Zheng shrugged innocently and pulled her back again.

"Jack, I’ll help your daughter make a raft, but you have to be on my team. That’s non-negotiable." Tang Zheng said.

Nicole moved away.

"You need to be on my side for Jack to compromise." Tang Zheng let go of his hand. He knew when to call it quits.

"Next time you try something like that, I’ll hit you." Nicole clenched her right fist, resting it on Tang Zheng’s belly, but without much force.

"You’ve already hit me." Tang Zheng dramatically rubbed his belly while looking at the girl in a pink nursing uniform in front of him, sighing, hoping that she could survive.

"Alright, I’m in." Jack shook his head in annoyance, feeling as if he had done something contrary to the spirit of chivalry. He then made the sign of the cross on his chest and muttered a brief prayer.

Looking at the sky, Tang Zheng took out an electric saw and started chopping wood. Only a fool like Jack would use a chopper.

Stevenson snapped a branch in his hand with a pop. The two hooligans looked on with envy, and Brant was seething with rage. They all saw Tang Zheng. He did this right in front of her father. This guy was really bold. Then their envy shifted to Tang Zheng’s good luck with women. Since Nicole didn’t resist, this showed that the girl was willing.

Miranda and Julia also saw this. The former confidently straightened her chest, starting to calculate some plans, while the latter was filled with worry. Once Tang Zheng fell for Nicole, he certainly wouldn’t have time to take care of her.

"I must think of a way." Julia looked at her daughter sleeping on the picnic blanket, stood up, and went to help build the raft. It was time to show her value.

An hour later, David’s group was the first to complete their massive wooden raft, with Arthur’s team coming in second. Mars’ team hadn’t finished yet, but they had moved all the logs to the edge of the lake and were tying them together with vines.

"Miranda, I’m afraid this thing won’t hold up to the opposite shore, right?" The female hip-hop artist looked at the flimsy wooden raft with worry written all over her face. Jennie successfully joined their group, and the black basketball player was also present, making their group the largest.

"Let’s push it into the water and try." Miranda’s face wasn’t looking too good. Although it wasn’t a problem to rebuild the raft, time was running out, as David’s group was clearly about to cross the river.

With a splash, the raft was pushed into the lake, where it immediately began to shake violently, already starting to take on water before setting off.

"Ha, you guys failed." Danny clapped his hands gleefully, trying to show Natalie the benefits of following him.

Ignoring his mockery, Miranda and her group collapsed on the ground, their faces grim. This raft was clearly not up to standard. It had simply been a waste of over an hour.

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up and pull it back." Tang Zheng walked to the lakeside, carrying a log. Seeing the scene, he immediately knew that the opportunity to win favor had arrived. He rushed into the lake as if in a hurry, dropped the log, grabbed the trailing vine, and pulled the raft back.

"Just tie it again. Are you guys planning to chop the wood again?" Tang Zheng had no hope for Miranda’s group, and he had already decided to use them.

Unable to find a better option, Brant and Defoe teamed up. They made a rather small raft with only five logs, just enough for them to fit. They were exhausted by the time they finished tying it all up.

"Tang, how about this spot? It’s close to the opposite bank, right?" Maggie had taken her paddle, clearly ready to cross the lake. "How much longer do you guys need to finish?"

"Probably about ten minutes." Tang Zheng looked at the spacious lake, shrugged nonchalantly, and said, "There are no signs of dinosaurs. That’s good."

"Hmph, don’t think we’re fools." Danny was proud. This location was chosen by Robert.

"Okay, let’s help them tie up their raft." Leonard finished testing his eight-person raft. After confirming that there was no problem, he walked to Miranda and asked, "Do you want to come with us?"

The members of Miranda’s group were first taken aback, then they tensed up and stared at her.

"This guy is deliberately trying to ruin my reputation and leave me with nothing." The beautiful Miranda appropriately expressed her hesitation. Although she was very willing, she didn’t dare to agree. If she abandoned her teammates here, she would definitely have to follow Leonard in the future just to survive since no one would team up with someone who had no credibility.

"He wants to isolate me and then control me, doesn’t he?" As Miranda looked up, she met Leonard’s eyes which were filled with amusement and greed. No longer hesitating, she said, "Sorry, I want to cross the lake with them."

"Yay, long live Miranda!" Upon hearing her firm response, the rest of the team started high-fiving each other and cheering.

"Well, good luck then." Leonard turned around and left, shouting to his team, "Help them tie up their raft. We’ll set off together later."

The newbies expressed their gratitude, but Miranda felt a deep sense of danger. This guy’s anger made the corners of his mouth twitch, but he was still holding himself back. It was terrifying.

"If it were someone like Tang, I would definitely agree." Hearing her team’s compliments, Miranda felt a pang in her heart. She didn’t mind exchanging her body for some benefits, but she would never allow herself to be manipulated.

"Tang, where’s our inflatable boat?" Seeing that everyone else’s rafts were being tested and could set off at any time, Nicole was getting anxious.

"What inflatable boat, isn’t this it?" Jack, who was busily tying up the vines, was taken aback. He had thought that Tang Zheng was joking just now, but he didn’t expect it to be real.

Tang Zheng had mountaineering rope, but it would be wasted here. Seeing that the wooden raft was nearly tied up, he got up, cleared a small space on the lakeside, and took out a life raft that was soft and bundled up.

"Ha, a life raft? You guys actually have this equipment?" Jennie squealed, watching as Lu Fan took out an air pump. Her eyes were full of envy. "Could we borrow it?"

All eyes were drawn to the life raft. Danny had been incessantly boasting about his skills to Natalie when he noticed her attention had shifted to the young man from the East.
