Chapter 312: Chapter 12: Taking on the Terror Crocodile Alone

After another ten minutes, Tang Zheng and his group finally caught up with Leonard and the others. By 2 o’clock in the afternoon, they found the endpoint of the glowing path on the map, but now they’ve run into trouble.

"How should we continue? Why does the route cut off here?" David clutched his hair in irritation, unable to figure out a solution.

"Could we have taken the wrong turn?" Maggie crouched down on the ground, poking at the soft soil with a tree branch. In front of her was a narrow lake, hundreds of meters wide, with no visible edges on either side.

"But without following the map, we have even less of an idea." Robert scanned the rainforest across the lake through his telescope and found nothing, so he suggested, "Maybe once we cross the lake, the glowing path will reappear."

"We definitely have to cross the lake, but it’s bound to be dangerous, right?" The policeman Mars also joined the discussion, pointing out the dozens of herbivorous dinosaurs wandering by the lake. It appeared to be their habitat.

"We are already in danger." David put away the map and called out to the newbies, "Listen up, everyone. Find something to eat and rest for an hour. Then we start crossing the river. We must reach the other side before dark."

"We have no wilderness survival skills. It would be good if we can find food and cook it in an hour." Upon hearing this, not just the women, but also the male newcomers revealed expressions of frustration. After the black man, Derek, complained, newbies began discussing lively, hoping that David and his friends could help solve the food issue.

"Shut up, I originally wanted to take care of your meals, but what about your backpacks?" Leonard scolded them with a dark face. "Why didn’t you throw away your guns too? If you run out of bullets, you’re going to use them as clubs?"

"We didn’t lose them!" Two ruffians immediately clarified their situation under the leadership of Scarface, who was without supplies. As individuals who’ve struggled at the bottom of society, they were very protective of their survival necessities.

"You can eat with me!" Leonard’s gaze swept over the newcomers. "Anyone with a backpack can join me. We don’t support idlers."

"Tang, where are your supplies? Lost them too?" Maggie couldn’t help but ask when she didn’t see Tang Zheng’s backpack after a careful search. She didn’t mean to mock teasing; she just wanted to know what kind of dimensional equipment this guy had.

Danny also turned his attention, seemingly greedy.

"No, we’re going to look for food." Tang Zheng finished speaking and pulled Lu Fan away. He didn’t trust others’ judgments and wanted to scout the surroundings himself.

"Tang, gather here in an hour, don’t forget." Maggie shouted at his receding figure, which annoyed Danny.

"Why are you bothering that yellow monkey? Isn’t it better if he dies? Look, the blonde lady and Nicole have gone after him." Danny handed a can of canned tuna to Natalie. After the actress accepted it with a smile, he felt as refreshed as having an ice cream on a scorcher, and his jealousy of Tang Zheng being pursued by women subsided considerably. After all, Natalie was also very beautiful.

"With such a powerful teammate, shouldn’t you be laughing?" Maggie really didn’t understand Danny’s psychology. "Do men have to be competitive?"

"Don’t lump us with them." David and Leonard spoke at the same time. For them, survival was the most important thing, and everything else was secondary, so they didn’t regard Tang Zheng as an enemy, nor did they help Danny make things difficult for him.

"Uncle, do you want to eat roasted dinosaur meat for lunch?" Lu Fan’s eyes lit up. He stared at the dinosaurs by the lake, eager to topple them over and start a barbeque on the spot.

"Julia, don’t waste the kid’s energy. Go back and wait." Tang Zheng took out two pieces of chocolate and handed them over.

The young lady didn’t take them, clearly uncomfortable.

"Fanfan, you go with them too. I won’t be carrying you this afternoon." Tang Zheng patted Lu Fan’s head. "Take care of yourself. Having you with us restricts my actions."

"Okay, Fanfan actually wanted to help." Feeling gloomy, Lu Fan pouted his pink lips and walked back to the temporary camp. After a few steps, he turned back and shouted, "I’ll light the campfire. You bring back dinosaur meat as soon as possible."

This statement immediately drew everyone’s attention in the temporary camp.

"I’m coming with you." Seeing Tang Zheng looking at her, Nicole took the initiative to offer.

"Whatever." Tang Zheng didn’t want to waste time. With his M4A1 in hand, he darted out towards the upper reaches of the lake like a cheetah.

"That bastard." Seeing Tang Zheng dash ten meters in a blink of an eye, Nicole was dumbfounded. A feeling of unwillingness rose within her, and she gritted her teeth, following him quickly.

One minute later, Tang Zheng appeared six hundred meters away, standing on a rock. As he adjusted his breathing, he looked around with his high-powered telescope and compared it to his map. Probably because of the distance, a triangle appeared on the map showing his current location, and the glowing route was still flashing on it.

"It seems I have to follow it. I should cross the lake now." Tang Zheng’s face remained calm, thinking about the reserves in his Space Wristwatch, he put his mind at ease.

After the Hummer got scrapped in the previous round, Tang Zheng didn’t want to spend points to exchange for a new one. Now, he only had a Beetle Chariot. But Lu Fan said she would buy a Hummer in the real world. As for boats, Tang Zheng also had an inflatable boat that could seat four people and a life raft, and two outboard motors, which was sufficient.

"I hope there are no large dinosaurs in the lake." After a glance at the calm lake surface, Tang Zheng began to follow the route back. He saw some plants and fruits. After scanning them with electronic stick, he found they are edible. However, he was conflicted. He was in the Cretaceous Period, but how could he not sample the vegetables and fruits of this era? Yet, catching a whiff of the slight sulfur smell in the air, he gave up the idea. If he had stomach trouble at this time, it would be disastrous.

"Just eat the dinosaur meat." Tang Zheng walked back more than three hundred meters, and saw Nicole’s figure in the rainforest. She was leaning against an ancient tree panting, obviously exhausted.

Tang Zheng looked around and then sneaked past her from behind.

"This guy runs so fast, he could win a world sprinting championship. Huh, where am I?" Nicole gasped. She felt her lungs were uncomfortable as if being burned by fire. She had been chasing headlong, but now after a brief rest, she suddenly realized she was somewhat lost.

"Can’t be that unlucky, can it?" Nicole pulled out the electronic stick from her pocket. As soon as she turned it on, a hand rested on her shoulder. She screamed and ran forward. However, because the soil was loose and she put too much strength, she fell to the ground.

"It’s me. I didn’t expect you to be this timid." Tang Zheng chuckled.

"Are you a ghost? You walk without making a sound." Nicole gave Tang Zheng a glare, stood up, walked to him, slyly smiled, suddenly raised her foot and placed it behind his leg. She then used both hands to push on his chest, trying to trip him over.

But Tang Zheng didn’t budge, and Nicole once again lost her balance and fell backwards. Tang Zheng quickly reached out his arm to catch her.

The lower part of the girl’s full chest was stuck to his arm, and then slid down due to the inertia of her body falling, her elastic breasts immediately jiggled creating ripples. Unfortunately, Tang Zheng couldn’t see it, let go of Nicole and pounced forward.

A huge crocodile resembling a piece of deadwood suddenly sprang out from the fallen leaves on the ground, opened its big mouth and bit towards Nicole.

Upon regaining her balance, Nicole felt that Tang Zheng took advantage of her again. She extended her hand to twist his thigh, but didn’t expect him to let go of her, so she fell to the ground without any preparation. Her entire head was buried in the ground full of rotting fallen leaves, and the stinky soil immediately filled her mouth.

"This bastard, cheapskate." Tears involuntarily streamed down her face. Nicole grabbed a handful of rotten leaves and fiercely threw them.

Roar, the rough howl of the crocodile immediately frightened Nicole, who was still feeling sorry for herself. She suddenly raised her head and saw Tang Zheng tangled with a crocodile, over three meters in size, rolling on the ground.

The crocodile’s mouth was full of sharp teeth, each about ten centimeters long, trying to bite Tang Zheng. Tang Zheng was pressed against its back, his arms like iron hoops around its neck, constantly rising, trying to close its mouth. The bite force of the crocodile was terrifying, but the force used to open the mouth was rather weak. As long as he could close it, Tang Zheng would be able to kill it.

"Tang." Nicole screamed, quickly jumped up, aimed her rifle at the two. In an instant, sweat covered her forehead and flowed down her cheeks. Her entire back was soaked.

"Move aside." Tang Zheng roared, his arms inching upward, finally making it close its mouth. But the crocodile did not give up, it kept rolling, trying to throw Tang Zheng off.

Seeing them wrecking an area of more than thirty yards, leaves and soil flying everywhere, Nicole couldn’t move in. Every time the nearly half-ton crocodile rolled over, it was terribly shocking. Once it even broke off a tree trunk as thick as a bowl with Tang Zheng. The crocodile wasn’t stupid either, seeing that struggling wouldn’t free it, it started crawling towards the lake quickly.

Nicole was extremely nervous, not knowing what to do. Once the crocodile enters the water, Tang Zheng would be doomed.

"The crocodile’s spinal cord nerve is at the back of its head. Cut it off." Tang Zheng recalled the method Bell used to slaughter crocodiles in wilderness survival show. With all his strength, he held the crocodile’s mouth with one arm. When the right hand was loosened, he had already drawn the Bronze Sword from his wristwatch and quickly stabbed it under the crocodile’s head. Amidst a splash of blood, the blade swiftly cut, leaving a cut over a foot long on its back.

Blood gushed out like a spring instantly soaking Tang Zheng. The crocodile let out a painful howl, finally powerlessly lie on the ground. Tang Zheng still held its mouth, gave it another cut to ensure it was dead, then he let go of his hand.

With Tang Zheng lying on the back of the crocodile, a smile formed on his lips. He said, "Lunch is settled."

"Tang, are you okay?" Nicole ran over, squatted down on the ground and touched Tang Zheng all over. "The tree was smashed just now, you definitely have a fracture!" (To be continued.
