Chapter 295: Chapter 41: Regression and Evaluation

After charging, the Ghost Rider swung its horse back around and chased after Lu Fan’s Hummer with their slashing blade. The demons flying in the sky, who had finished throwing their steel forks, began a series of kamikaze-style attacks, dive-bombing from high altitude and crashing into the ground, causing explosions as they shattered.

Pang Meiqin struggled to control the Hummer amidst the mingling of blood, flesh, and explosive shockwaves. Thankfully, the 10-mile journey wasn’t too far, otherwise they would’ve all perished on Crow Ridge. Their two legs could never outrun war horses and wings.

Bang! The rear of the Hummer was inevitably hit by a dive-bombing demon, sending shattered glass flying everywhere. The shards hit both Lu Fan and Yin Shangwu in the back, provoking screams of pain. Suddenly, several of the knights sped up and thrust their lances forward.

Yin Shangwu mustered up his strength to turn around, picking up an AK74 and shooting a knight in the head, knocking them off their horse. Lu Fan, his head bleeding, anxiously threw out a Spiritual Power Hand Grenade to hold them off.

Aside from the princess lying on the floor of the carriage, everyone was fighting fiercely and doing their part. Minutes later, the Hummer jumped from a slope as the dark night quickly receded like a tide. In an instant, sunlight penetrated the carriage.

Thump - the Hummer hit the ground. Pang Meiqin’s head hit the steering wheel because she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, causing her to nearly faint, but she still kept her foot on the gas pedal, urging the vehicle to speed along.

"Alright, we can stop now." Tang Zheng opened his eyes slightly, feeling the warmth of sunlight on his skin. In the distance, the beautiful scene of European mountains spread out, everywhere filled with green grass and blooming wildflowers unknown to them. The bright blue lakes interspersed among them, radiating a tranquil atmosphere.

"The demons behind us have also stopped." Qin Yan looked back. The demons stood at the edge of Crow Forest, silently watching them. Then they turned their horses around and silently left. The darkness of that place was a stark contrast to the sunny area they were in.

Only then did Pang Meiqin let out a sigh of relief and step on the brakes. After long tire marks appeared on the grass, the car finally stopped.

"Lu Fan, where are you hurt?" Qin Yan called out twice. No one answered. The little loli was not moving and was lying on the princess.

"He’s not dead, just hit his head and passed out." Yin Shang Wu, leaning against the seat, saw that Lu Fan was still breathing, he smiled, "That kid is really lucky."

Tang Zheng got out of the car and stepped onto the soft grass. He smelled the long-lost fresh air, finally feeling like he had survived a calamity.

"So we completed the mission, right? Why aren’t there any hints?" Pang Meiqin didn’t dare to leave the driver’s seat, always ready to drive off at any moment.

"Qin Yan, pull the princess out and wake her up." Tang Zheng hadn’t asked his question when the princess’s body was just starting to turn into ashes under the sunlight. The ashes were blown away by the warm wind.

This sudden event startled everyone. The death of the princess was significant, but then everyone sighed in relief because a translucent princess emerged from the body.

"Thank you, kind travelers, for rescuing me from the Demon City. Goodbye." The princess’s soul vanished after she said this, leaving Tang Zheng and the others dumbfounded.

"That’s it? Not even a reward?" Pang Meiqin’s face showed disappointment, feeling aggrieved, "She deserved to be an old horse for her entire life, being so stingy. Who would want to save her?"

Tang Zheng and the others did not have the mood to listen to her complaints, because the voice of the Silver Trojan resounded in their ears.

"Escape from Demon City completed. The survivors will be teleported in thirty seconds."

...

Seeing the familiar pale white walls once again, Pang Meiqin cheered instinctively. However, she quickly covered her mouth and obediently sat down.

"Trojan, can we revive those who died in the game here?" After Tang Zheng and Qin Yan were teleported, they looked at each other and thought of Xin Lan and the others who had died. They asked the question urgently.

"I, Trojan, am omnipotent. So, the answer to your question is yes. You only need to spend ten thousand points, and you can revive anyone." The Black Cube floated up from the center of the room, looked at the five survivors and couldn’t help but wail, "Oh, there are still so many toys left. I was betting on team annihilation."

"Who are you betting with?" Tang Zheng’s pupils suddenly contracted, staring at the Trojan, "Could it be the behind-the-scenes puppeteer?"

"Of course, I am betting with myself. No one else in this world is qualified to sit on an equal footing with me and play!" Trojan spoke as if it was the most natural thing in the world, oblivious to how conceited it sounded.

"What’s the difference between the revived and before they die?" Qin Yan was anxious, "I want a Bai Guo just like before, not some puppet or duplicate."

"The memory of a revived toy will be kept at the moment before their death." Trojan laughed, "In fact, from the moment you die and teleport into the room, you don’t exist anymore, you’re my toys."

When Yin Shangwu was teleported into the room, Trojan interrupted Qin Yan’s question.

"Five lucky toys, congratulations on your safe return. Anyone need any body repairs? If not, let’s start scoring," The Silver Trojan commenced the routine inquiry.

"Are you blind? Can’t you see we’re all injured?" Pang Meiqin pointed at Tang Zheng’s severed arm, then turned to look at Yin Shangwu, frustrated. "This woman is so lucky, she made it back alive again."

"I see, but who can guarantee you don’t have a masochistic fetish, maybe you enjoy self-harm." The Trojan cheekily provoked, "I wouldn’t want to expend effort for no return."

"So you want us to suffer a little bit more? Enough of the idle chatter, pay the points, and repair our bodies." Tang Zheng saw through the Trojan’s tricks, he just wanted everyone to hurt a little bit more. He pulled out his discount device and stuck it in the slot on his wristwatch, saving even a single point was worthwhile.

Qin Yan woke Lu Fan up, and everyone, except for Yin Shangwu, requested body repairs.

"Yin Shangwu, if you were to die so easily, it would simply be a waste of your friend’s points and sentiment in reviving you." Tang Zheng spoke and then ignored her, a token statement was all their relationship was worth. Qin Yan and Pang Meiqin didn’t even look at her, this crazy woman wasn’t worth their attention.

"Trojan, repair my body." Yin Shangwu glanced at her severed arm and sighed.

Five beams of white light shot from the cube, covering the survivors. As Tang Zheng watched the beam of light traverse his body, a new arm sprouted from the left, only slightly paler in skin tone.

"Congratulations, Tang Zheng. Your discount took effect, a 10% discount, the body repair cost six hundred points, you paid five hundred and forty points."

"Treatment over, now for the scores." The Trojan’s hexagonal screen flashed with the avatars of each survivor.

Tang Zheng however wasn’t interested, he was busy moving his left hand, touching his body to feel the temperature, then drew a straight knife, savouring the sensation of having two arms again.

"Woman with your heat season finally over, your luck is still off the charts. I look forward to another miracle. Score of 2,100 points, reward of a Silver Seed, Level A evaluation. Supplement: body repair cost one hundred points."

"Finally exceeded two thousand points, and got a Silver Seed." Pang Meiqin cheered excitedly and couldn’t resist showing off to everyone. "Did you hear that? The Trojan didn’t mock me this time, all positive comments!"

Lu Fan ignored her, focusing instead on his own avatar and review on the screen.

"Devilish little Lolita, occasionally a fool, too attached to Tang Zheng; are you trying to seduce him into becoming a lolicon? Don’t forget your duty to act cute, score of 2,800 points, reward of one Silver Seed, Level A evaluation. Supplement: body repair cost two hundred points."

"Hmph." The little Lolita lifted her chin in pride, giving Pang Meiqin the back of her head.

Pang Meiqin had initially wanted to chastise the Trojan for unfairness, but then she remembered that Lu Fan had also won a round of the Ghost Card Game and so, let it slide.

"Indeed a sacred object that brings good luck, comparable to SSS Grade item, Miss Qin, please continue to extend the expiration date. As for the old woman comment, let it go to hell. The most important thing is to survive. Score 3,300 points, reward of one Golden Seed, Level A evaluation. Supplement: body repair cost one hundred points." The Trojan gave his evaluation and suddenly paused, looking at Pang Meiqin.

"What?" Pang Meiqin was startled. This had never happened before.

"I just want to tell you, don’t think about purchasing from the Trojan List. Although the item exists, the man-made version doesn’t contain luck attributes." The Trojan didn’t care about the embarrassment on Pang Meiqin’s face and teased her anyway.

"You’re the one who’s going to buy, your entire family is going to buy!" Pang Meiqin cursed angrily, the Trojan was just too shameless.

"Hmm, even if you buy it, it’s useless. Judging from my estimation, your heat period will be approaching soon. Whether it’s wasted in Tang Zheng’s hands or wasted, it’s simply too wasteful."

"Why didn’t you perish along with the enemies? Why didn’t you commit suicide? I hate toys without a will to live the most because they are not worth playing with. So you better die soon. Score 4,500 points, reward of one Golden Seed, S-grade evaluation. Supplement, body repair cost seven hundred points." The Trojan still despised Yin Shangwu and wished her death immediately.

Yin Shangwu huddled in the corner, not bothering to look at the Trojan screen or how many points she scored. Her indifference caused the Trojan to become even more irate.

"Missed out on Tang Zheng’s pained expression after team annihilation, what a pity. Seems like pretty soon, you’ll turn dark because of your team’s death. Looking forward to the moment you join the chaotic evil faction. Why live such a hard life? Order and goodness? Let them go to the undead. Do what you want. Score 5,100 points, reward of one Golden Seed, S-grade evaluation." The Trojan tempted Tang Zheng, he really wanted to see what it would look like for a good guy to go dark, that would certainly be interesting.

"Tang Zheng is still number one." Pang Meiqin was speechless. This time she didn’t even beat little Lolita.

"Evaluations over, the next thirty minutes will be free shopping time." The Silver Trojan followed the usual practice and gave everyone’s score list, proving that there was no irregular behavior, "Toys without shopping needs can be teleported home." (To be continued.
