Chapter 256: Chapter 12: Who are the 3 offerings?

"He’s beyond help." Tang Zheng squatted on the ground, glanced at the corpse’s pupils, felt the pulse on the neck, and shook his head. He then rose and moved to the next victim.

There laid five students in the center of the coliseum, three bodies badly mutilated, covered with bite marks from demons. Although the other two were unharmed, the dilated pupils suggested they were beyond saving.

The high school students were silent in grief, but nobody approached to take one last look at their classmates. The sight was too horrific. The girls huddled together, quietly sobbing.

"They’re already dead, no need to waste them." Zhang Hao quickly ran over, chose a dead female student, caught her by the ankles, and dragged her to the stone walls.

The students watching their classmate’s hair float on the puddles, and a trail of blood drawn from her body looked away and pretended not to notice. They were unsure of Zhang Hao’s intentions and didn’t want to interfere. But finally, a boy plucked up the courage to speak out.

"Leave my classmate’s body alone."

"Zhou Wei, don’t be foolish." A girl with an anxious look tried to hold Zhou Wei back, but she was shrugged off.

"Who yelled?" Zhang Hao halted his actions and glared at the high school students menacingly. "Step forward."

"Me." Zhou Wei pushed through the crowd and yelled again, "Put down my classmate’s corpse."

"Huh? Don’t you know what I’m doing? Watch closely." Zhang Hao scornfully laughed, unconcerned about him. He hurriedly took off the schoolgirl’s coat, rolled it into a ball, soaked it in blood from the wound, stood by the stone wall and was about to start when he paused. He then turned to Li Xinlan and the others, asking, "How do you draw a pentagram?"

"Just like a pentagram, but considering your IQ, Little Fan Fan believes that you being able to draw a straight line might be a stretch, let alone a circle or a pentagram." Lu Fan guessed that Zhang Hao was attempting to establish his authority among the students.

A few students wanted to laugh at Little Loli’s sarcasm towards Zhang Hao but felt it inappropriate and swallowed their laughter. Even if they were in the same class, they rarely spoke to some students and only showed concern superficially, so they wouldn’t seem unkind.

"Hey, don’t go too far." Zhou Wei was shouting, standing where he was. This made Tang Zheng, who had glanced at him, lose interest. He didn’t move an inch, proving his fear of being beaten.

"Excessive? Let me tell you, if you want to leave this exitless Coliseum, you need to sacrifice three people and use their blood to draw a pentagram on the stone wall." Zhang Hao pointed to the ground, "You can search for wooden pieces, the drop items after killing a demon, where the method of escape is written."

Everyone was shocked into silence, gaping at Zhang Hao.

"What? You’re going to stop me? Don’t stand there, go on, search. That’s your evidence." Zhang Hao was delighted to see their distress.

"Zhang Hao, don’t waste the fresh blood. Draw according to the pattern on this wood piece." Tang Zheng searched the battlefield while examining the bodies, where he surprisingly found three wooden pieces.

No one had any doubts, as it was pointless for Tang Zheng to fake it. So they all watched the stone wall, waiting for the moment the door would open.

It had been ten minutes since Zhang Hao finished drawing the pentagram, yet there was no stir in the Coliseum.

"What happened? Was it drawn wrong?" Qin Yan frowned, thinking hard. "Or maybe the location was wrong."

"The inscription on the wood piece indicates that the offering must be directly killed by a human. Those bodies were killed by monsters." Tang Zheng shook the wood piece in his hand and sighed in disappointment, "As expected, the Trojan Horse Game is merciless."

"Are there no other ways?" The thought of killing her classmates made Yue Tong tremble uncontrollably.

"There is. Stay in the Coliseum for seventy-two hours, and the door will open automatically." Tang Zheng walked up to Xu Guanlin, handed over a wood piece with green glowing characters, "You can all take a turn reading this."

The high school students’ spirits lifted upon hearing there were other ways, but the solution they got made them dejected, especially after reading the inscription on the wood piece, they all looked prevailed.

"We’re forced to kill." Liu Jiamei cried out while covering her forehead, "Three days without eating or drinking would end us all, we can only resort to killing."

The high school students were silently suffocating. The atmosphere was eerie and increasingly strange. As some quick-thinkers gathered with their friends, more small groups formed, eventually leaving six marginal individuals who didn’t typically have friends agonizing.

"Interesting, dvision and suspicion are showing up earlier than expected." Lu Fan licked his lips, and said, "Unless something unexpected happens, those marginal people are going to be unlucky."

"It’s already a disunified class, could it suddenly pull together now?" Pang Meiqin expressed her disdain, "Being ostracized is their own fault. In this day and age, even bad guys have a few loyal friends. If they are alone now, they should reflect on themselves."

"Look, the marginalized have gathered, it’s less likely they’ll be attacked now, right?" Bai Guo exclaimed, "Who do you think those three sacrifices will be?"

"The peddler, the female office worker, the male teacher." Pang Meiqin confidently answered, "These three are all alone, it’ll be easiest to catch them off guard while they’re asleep."

"Wrong, the female class advisor’s inaction has drawn a lot of hatred. It’s not an exaggeration to say she’s the public enemy of the students. Among those who die, she’ll definitely be one." Qin Yan said in a hushed voice, "Haven’t you noticed? The students are all alert towards each other, and they constantly watch the class advisor."

"The peddler is pretty fit, if it were up to me, I’d choose the male teacher, the female office worker, and the class advisor." Li Xinlan was also observing these people, "Tang Zheng, what do you think?"

"The ones who die will definitely be unexpected." Tang Zheng took out the food that was just enough for five people to be half full and placed it on the ground, "What would happen if I gave these to Xu Guanlin?"

"Naturally it would add fuel to the fire. No matter how it’s distributed, it would ignite their dissatisfaction. But if they’re starved for a few more hours, the effect will be even better." Lu Fan’s reaction was still the fastest. Knowing that these people are Tang Zheng’s bosom friends, Lu Fan no longer kept his true thoughts to himself.

The Leopard Print Woman, listening to their unabashed discussions about who the three sacrifices would be, began to tremble in fear. Is this the power of strength? She thought about how she had exchanged all her points for money and bought nothing, unable to contribute anything to the team. She broke out in a cold sweat.

"Am I going to be abandoned?" The Leopard Print Woman tried to interject, to strengthen their relationship, but she didn’t know what to say.

"Tang Zheng, aren’t you our class advisor? Are you just going to let us starve?" Yue Tong was urged by her classmates’ gazes and bravely stepped forward, "We don’t need much. Just a little bit will do."

"Haha, you want to eat without working? Do you think pies fall from the sky? Even if they did, you’d still have to bend down to pick them up." Zhang Hao laughed loudly and shamelessly took out a piece of chocolate, chewing it in his mouth to make the students envy him, "Whoever gives me a twenty-minute leg massage gets this. I should specify, only girls."

Righteous indignation was absent. Everyone kept silent. After nearly eleven hours of hunger, the kids who had been pampered to the bone in their daily lives were on the verge of breaking down. If Zhang Hao’s reward wasn’t so paltry, nowhere near worth the students’ dignity, someone would have already jumped on him.

"Zhang Hao, get lost." Tang Zheng told Zhang Hao to get lost, but was satisfied with his distraction. Sure enough, the students who were initially expectant of the food lowered their heads in embarrassment after hearing Zhang Hao’s remark about getting something for nothing.

"I’m sorry." Yue Tong wiped the tears from her cheeks, apologized, and turned to leave.

"Wait a minute." Tang Zheng took out a can of food, stood up, and shoved it into her hand, "Our food is also limited, but whoever is willing to help us fight the demons can have a share."

"Does the registration just now still count?" A certain male student shouted.

"Sorry, the students selected just now didn’t show any outstanding performance in the fight. I don’t need cowards." Tang Zheng, through observation, already had a few candidates in mind. However, he valued character more than strength.

"Perhaps it’s cruel, but the longer this drags on, the less likely you are to survive. Consider this carefully." Li Xinlan knew Tang Zheng couldn’t say certain things, so she offered to play the bad guy.

"Go." Tang Zheng waved Yue Tong off, then dragged the five bodies to a stone wall. A few perceptive students immediately stepped up to help, such as Gao Meilin, so they too were rewarded with a piece of chocolate.

Watching their former classmates wolf down the chocolate, the other students were envious, secretly vowing to react faster next time.

"Do you think you’re training dogs?" Zhang Hao’s mouth twitched uncontrollably as he noted that the students’ attitudes towards Tang Zheng had changed significantly. From fear and awe to something akin to fawning and yearning.

"Why are you being so harsh? I’m just giving them an early lesson in social practice." Tang Zheng tossed a piece of chocolate to the Leopard Print Woman. He had enough food in his Space Wristwatch to feed five people for a month. He certainly wasn’t worried about this little consumption.

"Haha, you’re just a university student yourself. What grand words!" Li Xinlan ruffled Tang Zheng’s hair affectionately.

The Leopard Print Woman hastily thanked Tang Zheng, tears of gratitude in her eyes. However, she didn’t eat the chocolate immediately but put it in her pocket.

"Don’t say I didn’t warn you, watch out for someone trying to snatch your food." Zhang Hao laughed coldly, "Seen the looks in Han Zifeng and the others’ eyes? Like wolves, they keep staring at the bank office worker’s black stockings and the buttock under her uniform. I don’t see it taking longer than an hour before a conflict breaks out."

"What do you think they’ll use as an excuse to start fighting?" Pang Meiqin had a deep disdain for these students, she was sure they would eventually start killing each other. (To be continued. If you like this work, please vote for it on qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
