Chapter 251: Chapter 8 - I’m Eating, You Guys Watch_2

"Thank you." Gao Meilin finally had a chance to take a good look at Tang Zheng. He was very handsome and upright. Even in this oppressive environment, his face maintained its serenity.

"Uncle, did you overprepare?" said Lu Fan in a tone of respect, "What will we do when we finish all these?"

"The Space Wristwatch has plenty of room, there is nothing else to put other than these." Tang Zheng answered, putting a dumpling into his mouth. The large capacity of the space wristwatch was an advantage, and being a cautious person, he had fully packed it, leaving no room even for an ant.

"Brother Tang, stop talking, I’m going to die of envy," Zhang Hao casually sat next to them and started eating. After receiving a glare from Lu Fan, he felt embarrassed and pulled out three cans of beer from his Space Backpack, "Drink less, we might have to fight monsters later."

"Don’t worry, no one is calling you stingy," Lu Fan’s casual remark made Zhang Hao’s face burn and he quickly rummaged through his bag and pulled out three more cans, along with a roast chicken.

"Enough, do you really think this is a picnic? Did you not see that I have placed my gun by my side? There is to be no drinking, put the beers away," griped Tang Zheng, his mouth twitching, "I get it from the air hostess, but Zhang Hao how could you have come so unprepared, without any sense of alertness?"

"Oh no, I let my guard down," Zhang Hao quickly placed his gun on his lap.

"Brother Tang, can we start eating?" asked Gao Meilin, blushing a little. The other six high schoolers also seemed quite hungry but were quite reserved, taking only the closest food from the box.

If everyone had nothing to eat, it would have been understandable, but watching their classmates eat was a bit disheartening. Some started growing envious of Li Xinlan and her group, thinking why were they the ones filling their stomachs while others were starving.

"Look at these people, eating in a creepy, smelly dungeon. How are they not disgusted?" Han Zifeng exaggeratedly spewed out these words, evidently trying to make them feel sick.

As expected, upon hearing these words, the seven high schoolers glanced around instinctively. Their hunger instantly disappeared and three of them, looking at the blood-soaked ground and impaled corpses hanging on the wall, covered their mouths and walked aside to vomit.

Han Zifeng and his group began rejoicing over their discomfort, but soon, their rejoicing stopped--like a rooster being strangled, they couldn’t make a sound anymore.

"This fried chicken is really good. I have even eaten a steamed bun on a pile of dead bodies. Compared to that, this is heaven," Zhang Hao sneered at the high schoolers, taking a loud bite off a chicken bone, looking at the three high school girls vomiting, "If you can’t even handle this, then you are definitely dead. How so? Are you waiting for someone to serve you tissues?"

The high schoolers went silent, watching Li Xinlan and her group, including Little Lolita, swiftly eating and replenishing their strength, they felt a sense of admiration for the first time. Some also experienced a sense of defeat, thinking that following Tang Zheng’s group could improve their chances of surviving. Some of the high schoolers were wavering, considering aligning with Tang Zheng.

Xu Guanlin felt powerless. Without food, all persuasion and encouragement seemed feeble.

About halfway through the meal, a large group of skeleton soldiers started to crawl out of the ground again. The high schoolers screamed and descended into chaos.

Without a word, Tang Zheng dropped his bottle of mineral water, stuffed a couple of dumplings into his mouth, and picked up his AK74 and charged out, calling out, "Save me some dumplings."

The clear ringing of gunshots echoed through the Coliseum again. Several skeleton heads were shattered. Then everyone froze, even some high school girls instinctively stopped and forgot to scream. They watched as Tang Zheng leaped into the pile of skeletons that were still halfway out of the ground, causing a rain of bone fragments.

Tang Zheng had already switched to his Double-handed Slaughter Axe, swinging in a circular motion and sending dozens of skulls flying like baseballs. The skeletons collapsed to the ground.

Lin Weiguo was stunned for a second, then reacted, picking up his rifle and rushing forward, but everyone else was still in shock.

"What are you standing there for, pick up your weapons and go in. You’re not gentlemen, do you want to wait for them to crawl out before doing anything?" roared Tang Zheng, snapping everyone back to reality.

It’s not their fault for being stunned, but Tang Zheng’s actions were beyond anyone’s expectations. Everyone’s first instinct in such a situation would be either retreat or defense. But he rushed forward for a melee. But it had to be admitted, the danger posed by the skeleton soldiers before they completely emerged was minimal. Some of them were crushed before they could even get their swords and shields out.

"This guy must be crazy." All eyes of the high school students were on Tang Zheng, amazed and unsure, with similar thoughts flashing through their minds.

With a swift turning kick, Tang Zheng sent a skeleton head flying into the crowd of students, immediately causing screams and cries of pain. Due to the frantic efforts to avoid the stinking skeleton head, some people were stepped on in the chaos.

"Uncle is wicked." Lu Fan chuckled, putting down his revolver gun, and continued eating.

In less than five minutes, three hundred skeletons had been slaughtered to nothing, turning into piles of bone sticks on the ground and sinking into the stone slabs.

Tang Zheng saw a palm-sized wooden board, picked it up and dusted off his body as he walked back, then sat down in his tent and continued eating as if nothing had happened.

Some observant high school students noticed that after the fight, Tang Zheng wasn’t even out of breath.

"Brother Tang, weren’t you scared?" Gao Meilin asked nervously, feeling slightly inferior.

"Don’t worry about it. Most people would have their hair stand on end and their heart beat faster out of instinct when they see skeletons and corpses." Tang Zheng glanced at the wooden board. The words carved on it made his pupils shrink, causing him to freeze momentarily as he was picking up food.

"These monsters might be difficult for high school students, but for us, they’re easy pickings." Zhang Hao who had fought two skeleton soldiers on his own was full of confidence, "I wonder how many points will we get for defeating these skeleton soldiers?"

"Don’t tell me you think the monsters won’t get stronger? The Trojan Horse surely won’t be that merciful." Pang Meiqin expressed her worry, "We should think about how to get out of Demon City as soon as possible."

"Easier said than done. We can’t even get out of this Coliseum, let alone the troubles that might be waiting for us outside." Zhang Hao sighed, feeling that his current life wasn’t that bad. But seeing Tang Zheng’s serious expression, he couldn’t help but wonder, "Tang Zheng, did you find a way out?"

His voice was loud and it instantly attracted the attention of other high school students, who all looked at him with anticipation.

"I didn’t." Tang Zheng discarded the wooden board and continued eating.

Hearing this, some were disappointed and shook their heads, while others simply found a place to sit down, too hungry to even talk.

"Tang Zheng, is it? Hello. If you find a way out, please let us know." Xu Guanlin came over, believed he finally found an opportunity to strike up a conversation. Given his generous attitude, he figured Tang Zheng would invite him to join for the meal.

Unfortunately, Tang Zheng was not in the mood to entertain him at all, just nodded and stopped talking. Xu Guanlin found himself in an awkward position, having no excuse to stay but not willing enough to leave. He felt that given his status as a class representative, he must be able to secure a meal, right?

Since Tang Zheng didn’t say anything, no one else dared to invite him, let alone had the intention to. They were already giving enough face by not obviously kicking him out.

"Haha, you guys enjoy your meal." Xu Guanlin’s eyelid twitched a few times, then he finally took a deep breath, turned around, and left like a gentleman.

"This kid has a good control of his emotions. I hope he doesn’t suffer any internal injuries from keeping it all in." Pang Meiqin muttered, but no one seemed to hear her because everyone else’s eyes were on Tang Zheng.
