Chapter 237: Chapter 54 Trapped Beast Still Fights

Five Russians displayed high tactical skills, with two Thunderstorm rifles and three AN94 rifles equipped with grenade launchers, they fired rapidly, suppressing Tang Zheng and his two companions.

Zhang Hao started to evade again, trying to run into a house while shooting randomly, but he was abruptly kicked in the ass by Tang Zheng.

"What are you doing?" Zhang Hao haphazardly took cover behind a decorative mountain, proceeding to curse loudly.

"Do you want to get Liu Nai killed?" Tang Zheng was fuming. If it weren’t for the Russian woman standing in front of Liu Nai and shielding her from the bullets Zhang Hao fired, they would have been done for without foreign interference.

"Sorry, I didn’t see." Zhang Hao definitely didn’t do it intentionally, but upon seeing Lin Weiguo’s warning glance, he was even more depressed. He figured he would be resented again.

"Tang Zheng, it’s me." Liu Nai Uesugi was surprised to see Tang Zheng, her face immediately lighting up. This didn’t last long, as she was quickly shielded back into the arms of a Russian woman by Yelena.

"Keep an eye on her; the rest of you, attack. Five against three, kill them." Yelena saw that the enemy only had three men and immediately decided to attack instead of retreating.

"What did that Russian woman yell?" Zhang Hao continued to shoot aimlessly, but his crappy gun couldn’t hurt the Russians in bulletproof clothing, which made him very anxious and ready to run again.

"She’s calling you home for dinner," Tang Zheng yelled as he ducked to avoid the white smoke trailing three grenades.

BOOM, BOOM, the explosions were deafening in the courtyard of the hot spring. Tang Zheng was hit by a bullet fired by a Russian man while moving to a shield. The impact made him wobble, nearly causing him to stumble to the ground.

"Damn, if Liu Nai weren’t here, I could have thrown over a dozen grenades to change the situation," Tang Zheng cursed himself while still figuring out what to do.

"Toss your grenades." After Yelena’s command, a slew of grenades was thrown, ensnaring Tang Zheng and his two companions within their reach.

The courtyard was filled with blasts and smoke.

"Roll the dice." Tang Zheng took a deep breath and charged at the nearest Russian man with an AN94 rifle.

The man was not expecting Tang Zheng to be so desperate. He turned his muzzle around and shot a round, but to his surprise, hitting Tang Zheng didn’t slow him down at all.

The Russian man felt his fear creeping in as the ease that came from controlling the enemy disappeared. He cried out, "Yelena, save me."

"He is definitely not a Conqueror." Tang Zheng activated his gravity suppression as soon as he got within a five-meter range. He then took the man’s head off with his Thunderstorm rifle and rushed towards the next guy. His protective clothing turned out to be high-grade, as the electric ball hitting it didn’t cause much damage.

Upon seeing Tang Zheng approaching, the man didn’t seem fearful. Instead, he bared his teeth and flashed a creepy grin.

"Something’s wrong." Though Tang Zheng tried to use his gravity suppression, the man didn’t seem bothered. Tang Zheng sensed danger and tried to dodge but it was too late.

The Russian man opened his mouth and a huge fire dragon spewed out. The orange flames engulfed Tang Zheng in an instant.

"Haha, Yelena, his spoils of war are mine." He then noticed several crossbow arrows flying out of the flames towards his head. He tried to raise his arms to protect his face.

Ding, ding, ding. The crossbow arrows couldn’t penetrate his protective clothing and fell to the ground. The Russian man sighed in relief, only to find a bronze sword being thrown at him.

"Might as well use a gun.." He muttered, once again readying himself to deflect the sword. His protective clothing got slightly cut, but he didn’t really care. As he was about to escape, the young Chinese man, who supposedly should have been burned to death, emerged from the flames, wielding an axe looking creepily.

The Russian man’s face turned pale. He recognized the axe. It was his companion’s S-grade artifact. His protective clothing surely wouldn’t be able to defend against it. But when he tried to escape, he found that he couldn’t move. Out of horror, he spewed another wave of flames.

Tang Zheng used gravity to keep the flames away from his unprotected head, swiftly pulling on the Firefly hood and exposing only his eyes to ensure his safety.

The Slaughter Axe cut through the man’s waist, splitting him into two halves. Blood and organs spilled all over the ground, and his mouth was gushing with blood.

When the flames dissipated, the scene that met Tang Zheng’s eyes infuriated him. Bai Guo tried to sneak attack Yelena, but was discovered and immediately hit by a couple of water jets. Although she managed to dodge vital points, her shoulder, belly, and legs were all stabbed.

With Li Xinlan being an ice-ability user, she focused on protecting Ai Li and couldn’t intervene. Meanwhile, Yin Shangwu had just killed another Russian woman.

Lin Weiguo and Zhang Hao were working together to fend off the only remaining man.

"Yin Shangwu, is this your idea of judgement?" Tang Zheng was livid, and then realized, Yin Shangwu didn’t want any Trojan Squad member to escape. Thus, she attacked the newbie first, then backtracked to kill Yelena.

"Humph, if they die, it’s just their bad luck." Yin Shangwu didn’t care, she already arranged these people’s fate.

"Your bad luck?" Tang Zheng was livid. Yin Shangwu was indeed an inept teammate. Her thoughts were incomprehensible, "Does participating in too many Trojan Games turn people into lunatics and perverts?"

"You’re the pervert." Yin Shangwu retorted, clashing with Yelena. Both women appeared to be experts in hand-to-hand combat, occasionally mixing in their Seed Abilities for attacks.

All Tang Zheng could see were cuts from which blood was spilling, appearing one after another on Yelena’s protective clothing. But he couldn’t comprehend how those wounds were inflicted.

"Yin Shangwu is truly a dark horse." Standing by the side, he waited for the right moment. He didn’t rush to kill the Conquerors. Through the Meteorite Wristwatch, he understood that Trojan’s judgment was really harsh. In this kind of team battle, each winner would score points based on their performance, not by the final blow.

Besides, there was a comparison of power. Only by killing stronger opponents could he get more points. Tang Zheng was unlucky. Since he had killed Sergey, who owned two S-grade artifacts, in the Trojan’s database his combat power was high-level. Even if he defeated Yelena, equal to Sergey’s strength, alone, he would only get a hundred points.

Tang Zheng had asked the wristwatch’s AI about this and was told it was to prevent the toys from winning points, through the killing Conquerors, in team battles. If you kill a person and get five hundred points, you would only need to kill twenty to leave, that’s not challenging. Trojan wouldn’t allow that.

"Such a sick-minded Trojan. Not content until it toys us to death." Tang Zheng helplessly dismissed this and quickly rushed to Bai Guo’s side. He took out a nanobot healing fluid and injected it into her.

Liu Nai seized the opportunity to join Tang Zheng, thus successfully dealing with the last man from the Trojan Squad. This let everyone breathe a sigh of relief. Now, they just had to wait for Yen Shangbu’s results.

"Two more escaped? Shouldn’t we give chase?"

"No need, we killed them when we came in." Li Xinlan arrived with Ai Li.

"What’s this strategy, concentrate an advantage in military force, and break through individually?" Zhang Hao initially thought it would be a tough battle, but it turned out to be quite easy. Well, the real fighters were Tang Zheng and Yin Shangwu. King against king indeed.

"Don’t stand there gawking, let Yin Shangwu fight on her own, let’s withdraw." Tang Zheng didn’t want to stay and watch the battle. After grabbing Liu Nai, they were in an unbeatable position. He did not want further complications, but things simply didn’t go as planned.

"Everyone must stay." Yelena, kicked into the pool, suddenly stood up, repelled Yin Shangwu with torrents of water arrows, then raised her right hand to display a detonator.

"Still joking when you’re knocking on death’s door?" Zhang Hao laughed heartily but was choked by Yelena’s next words.

"Look at Liu Nai’s neck."

"Do you think we would fall for this?" Zhang Hao felt fooled, but immediately realized something wasn’t right. The breaths around him became noticeably tense. He turned his head and saw a mechanical collar on Liu Nai’s white neck, flickering with a red light.

"This is a mini nuclear bomb capable of flattening a 50-mile radius. The moment I die and my hand releases, the nuclear bomb will detonate." Yelena had considered this downside. If she could win, it’d be best, but even if she lost, she could escape with the threat of the nuclear bomb. "Hand Liu Nai over to me or we all die together."

"And what makes you think we are going to hand over Liu Nai?" Zhang Hao blurted out rebelliously, but in his heart, he gave in. After all, Liu Nai’s life or death didn’t concern him.

"Hehe, are Ai Li’s people also willing to die with you guys? I must thank the game rules this time." Yelena intended to incite an internal conflict among them. With fewer people, her trump card would increase.

"Tang Zheng." Zhang Hao wanted to leave, but all the people present were Tang Zheng’s people. This caused him to hesitate.

"Stay still, if you attack, I’ll immediately detonate the bomb." Seeing that Yin Shangwu’s intention to resume fighting, Yelena quickly threatened. She realized that this woman was a certified lunatic.

"Is there no other way to solve this?" Following a few seconds of silence, Tang Zheng suddenly spoke. He didn’t believe that Yelena, who could be a captain, would be so reckless. No one would agree to this blatant condition.

"Actually, there is a win-win solution." Yelena also knew her condition was excessive, so she proposed another idea, "How about each of us keep Liu Nai for fifteen days? We then return to our rooms and let Trojan deduct points. After a few days of battling, with your powers, you should accumulate a few thousand points. That would be enough."

Yelena clearly knew the rules for dividing teams. This was deemed as the most suitable method thus far. However, Tang Zheng knew, Yin Shangwu would certainly disagree. (To be continued.
