Chapter 1593: Chapter 55: Death Battle and Return
The metal net, imbued with corrosive energy, surged into the Chief’s body along the wounds.
Lin Weiguo unleashed his might, volleying energy bullets, the thunderous roar of explosions incessant.
The red-lipped woman’s team fought desperately. Just now, when a companion slacked off slightly, Jiang Xiuming took control of his body and fed him to the Chief.
"These guys are really brutal," cursed the red-lipped woman, but seeing Tang Zheng struggle to counterattack and the wounds that kept appearing on the Chief’s body, she regained some confidence.
"The Warhammer Team is so lucky to have a Group Leader like this," she secretly wished to join Tang Zheng. His abilities were simply too versatile and dominant. This was just half the team; if all were present, they’d surely have overthrown the Chief by now.
Most of the surviving Newbies were dead, leaving only five. Although they were scared, they dared not flee because the Chief would target the Cowards who ran away first.
Tang Zheng had entered Hero Mode, gone berserk, and activated Magic Sword Release, moving into the strongest offensive stance. Donning a military commander’s Armor, he engaged the Chief in close-quarters combat. He had to bite into the precious Heart Prop from Doctor obtained during the eve of parasitism to fight despite his weakness.
The Chief, with only a third of his combat power left, still firmly suppressed Tang Zheng and his team. A group attack caused energy meteors to explode all around.
Gao Lei’s legs trembled, too scared to run away, and consequently got caught in the chaotic flow of energy.
With a snap, Gao Lei’s body was minced by the swiftly swirling air, scattering all over.
"Decree, double the attack for an instant!" Tang Zheng changed the way he used the Queen’s Decree, only using it when Lake Light Slash hit the Chief.
This resulted in massive damage but minimal backlash, gradually allowing Tang Zheng to turn the tide of attack.
"Dantai, control them, buy time for Tang Zheng," Jiang Xiuming signaled to the Deputy Group Leader who understood and then released their mental power together, seizing control of the bodies of the other team’s Conquerors and using them as Meat Shields in an attack on the Chief.
As these Allies fell one by one in battle, someone finally sensed something ominous.
"What are you doing?" An Englishman’s inquiry was cut short as he was thrown to the Chief, the next second his Skull crushed into his chest.
"Gravity Devour, effect quintupled." Tang Zheng grabbed the Chief’s right shoulder; direct contact facilitated his Ability release.
Spewing the blood in his mouth onto the Chief, Tang Zheng was then kicked away, visibly breaking several bones in his chest.
A black hole appeared within the Chief’s right shoulder, devouring the surrounding muscles. The Chief, decisively and ruthlessly, brought his fingers together like a knife and chopped off his right shoulder.
"Tang Zheng, don’t kill me," the red-lipped woman pleaded with tears streaming down her face.
No longer needing a Meat Shield, Lin Weiguo actually became an attacker like Mu Nianqi, with Li Xinlan controlling the battlefield. Ice Age had turned the surrounding one-kilometer Range into an Arctic zone, with temperatures hitting minus fifty degrees Celsius, nearly affecting Xie Yundan’s condition.
"Decree, Mu Nianqi Teleport!" Just as Queen Mu was grabbed by the Chief and couldn’t avoid a fatal strike to the Heart, Tang Zheng came to the rescue.
Whoosh—Mu Nianqi disappeared and reappeared next to the Chief, her swift reaction allowing her to turn defense into offense, and she then hurled the Spiral of Destruction at him.
"Don’t mind me; I won’t die," seeing Tang Zheng’s blood vessels in his right arm burst from backlash, Mu Nianqi hurriedly advised him. Her Mirror Charm Clone had the function of substituting for fatal attacks.
"Stop talking, focus on the combat," Dantai already knew about Mu Nianqi’s Ability. She couldn’t die, but the Clone’s death would significantly weaken her original combat power. Now, as one of the primary attackers, losing her meant no chance of defeating the Chief.
"Tang Zheng, I beg you," the red-lipped woman pleaded once more. Jiang Xiuming and Dantai were too treacherous; those Conquerors had indirectly died because of them.
A Conqueror turned to run, but in just a few steps, the Chief skewered his back and killed him.
Tang Zheng pretended not to hear; if he let the red-lipped woman leave alive, she would certainly spread the tale of this battle. And when everyone knew the deceit of the Warhammer Team, who would dare collaborate?
"You all will not die well," the red-lipped woman cursed angrily. The Warhammer Team members supported each other, and with the Old Soldier’s Life Link, they could still hold on. Being alone, she had no escape.
The red-lipped woman wished to cause some trouble for Tang Zheng before her death, but Dantai wouldn’t let her succeed.
Used as a Meat Shield, the red-lipped woman was turned into mush by the Chief, her Skull flung far away, crashing into the snow.
"Is this the best you can do?" The Chief wiped the Blood Strands from the corner of his mouth, laughing wildly. "Struggle, run away; how else can I enjoy the thrill of the hunt?"
"Enjoy your ass, Decree, silence vocal cords." Along with Tang Zheng’s hoarse roar, the Chief, who was proudly laughing, suddenly became like a Chicken with its neck held, unable to make a sound.
The Chief’s smug face froze, turning into towering rage as he lunged at Tang Zheng.
"Laugh again if you can!" Tang Zheng stared at the Chief, wiping the fresh blood from his lips.
Lin Weiguo stepped in front of Tang Zheng, and this time the weakened Chief couldn’t send him flying.
Li Xinlan and Mu Nianqi also plunged into the fray, while Xu Biyun and Ai Yixin were inconsequential, the threat they posed less than the wounds they’d received.
Pang Meiqin’s ferocious bird emitted a mournful screech as it fiercely slashed at the chieftain, its formidable physical condition ensuring that her attacks would not fall short.
"Everyone unleash your ultimate abilities, give it everything you’ve got!" Tang Zheng was ready to risk it all, preparing to release their ultimate abilities. Every member was at the end of their tether, barely hanging on by a thread. In another minute, they would all be done for without the chieftain having to lift a finger.
"Decree, defense nullified!"
"Decree, team attack power doubled!"
"Decree, pfft!" Tang Zheng couldn’t utter the third command as he spat out blood and fell to the ground. Nevertheless, he still cancelled all other abilities and used all his might to execute Gravity Abyss, restricting the chieftain’s movements.
The chieftain, already heavily damaged, was like falling into a quagmire—a target that everyone would not miss.
Mu Nianqi burned her vitality, forcibly using Nabistin’s Angry Wave that required a seven-day cooldown, while Li Xinlan summoned the Extreme Winter Star. A comet made of ice plummeted from the sky, with its dazzling tail targeting the chieftain.
Pang Meiqin felt powerless; without Seed Ability, she didn’t have an ultimate ability, and her regular attacks did limited damage.
At this moment, everyone on the desolate wilds saw the colossal man-made comet and subconsciously looked up.
The Great Chief’s gaze became focused, his expression grave.
"Speed up, finish them off." The Great Chief didn’t want to play around anymore, "Send three chieftains to see what’s happened?"
The chieftain died, leaving behind only a Pristine Life Essence.
Dantai grabbed it, shoved it into Tang Zheng’s mouth to bite, but the healing effect was poor; he fell into a coma with severe internal injuries and respiratory failure.
"That’s enough." Jiang Xiuming saw the mission completion hint on his wristwatch and was overjoyed.
"Congratulations to Warhammer Team, mission completed. Teleportation will commence in one minute," the voice of the Silver Trojan announced, laced with a hint of surprise; it genuinely didn’t expect Tang Zheng to actually complete the mission.
"Why wait a single minute, just teleport us now," urged Jiang Xiuming impatiently. Any further delay might bring new enemies.
"What about Qin Yan and the others not in the team?" Dantai remained calm, without any joy from completing the mission; only returning to the Trojan Room would mean successful survival.
"You don’t need to worry about them," Silver Trojan’s evil taste resurfaced, clearly wanting to let the toys worry a bit longer.
The newbies prayed, looking into the distant sky, fearing that new chieftains would appear.
This time their luck finally turned. The Great Chief’s hunting ground was too far away; it would take an hour to fly here. However, the wait for this one minute turned Sun Guofeng’s hair white with several more strands.
The teleportation arrived on time, and Jiang Xiuming spat out saliva, finally able to leave this damned place.
"Wonder who’s fighting, it’s so intense." It was too far to see anything besides the comet and changes in the clouds. The Conquerors were anxious, hoping they were strong enough to draw away those damned chieftains.
"It’s Uncle," Lu Fan was worried. That comet seemed like Aunt Xin Lan’s ultimate ability she’d mentioned.
"Pshh, what nonsense, your Uncle probably turned into primitive manure by now. See, all the survivors are here," the chieftain scoffed, teaching Little Lolita a lesson.
"Right, whoever’s not here must have been killed. Didn’t you see the chieftains’ Rangers hunting down the stragglers?" Nearby Conquerors chimed in. Their mindset unbalanced by the threat of death, they wished everyone else ill fortune as much as themselves.
"You’re talking nonsense. Uncle will definitely win; he’ll surely come to rescue us," Lu Fan’s eyes moistened. She wasn’t stupid—based on the chieftains’ hunting range, she could guess Tang Zheng’s chance of surviving was slim.
"Hmph, by the time he comes, you’ll all have turned into manure," The Conqueror wanted to scorn further but then heard someone shouting from behind.
"Speed up, the chieftains are catching up even faster."
The speed of the fleet was already maxed out; they couldn’t go any faster. Everyone’s faces were ashen, with some proposing to band together to counterattack, lest one by one they fall. But he had no prestige, and no one obeyed.
"Hey, why is your body disappearing?" A Conqueror noticed Tao Ran’s abnormal condition.
"Damn it, no way. Did your Group Leader really complete the mission and make it through the Stone Age?" The fearless one who mocked Lu Fan was dumbfounded because he saw Little Lolita’s body gradually vanishing, signaling teleportation back to the Trojan Room.
"I’ve always said Uncle is the best," Lu Fan raised her chin proudly, very smug.
"You can’t leave; we’re still a temporary team," the Conquerors were envious, jealous, and hateful, some even desperately bargaining, "Trojan, teleport us back too, we are allies with Warhammer Team."
"We’re leaving first. You all enjoy playing with the primitive people!" Dong Zixuan had long since been disgusted by these fellows, bullying others because they were stronger. If it hadn’t been for Qin Yan’s sufficient strength, she would definitely have been cannon fodder.
"Damn, I wish we had a good Group Leader. How strong exactly is that Tang Zheng?" The Conquerors glared at the recently occupied chairs, still warm, wishing they could become members of Warhammer Team.
The chieftains brought back several more skulls to offer to the Great Chief. If Tang Zheng were there, he would have recognized two of them as belonging to American guys who once challenged him.
