Chapter 1567: Chapter 29: Annihilation

"This isn’t school, nor is it the workplace. This is a cruel survival game where people die at any moment. You’ll find that previous vendettas don’t even scratch the surface here!"

"In this game, as long as you have strength and strategies, you can kill without facing any punishment. That’s the rule of this world!"

Tang Zheng’s blood-soaked words silenced the newbies.

"I’ve seen tens of thousands of dead people. A resentful glance or a muttered curse can attract a stealth attack, turning you into a corpse swarming with maggots under the scorching sun."

Bai Xia passed over a water bag, her arms trembling, clearly frightened by Tang Zheng’s words.

"You’ve seen the combat power of the natives. For you newbies, the only chance to survive is through unity, not indifferent isolation." Tang Zheng threw the water bag on the ground and stomped on it, water immediately soaking the gravel.

"If you were united, each of you could have had four or five sips. I left on purpose just to give you a chance to drink stealthily, but your performance has disappointed me."

Most of these newbies are alumni, and even though Tang Zheng hopes they survive by any means necessary.

"Group Leader, we understand our mistake," Shen Jiashu was the first to express regret. He actually wanted to drink more water earlier but suppressed his impulse for fear of being reported by someone petty.

The newbies began to speak one after another. After this minor incident, the team atmosphere became more harmonious, promoting some interactions at least.

Tang Zheng aims to take over the tribe; he can’t keep risking his life alone forever. If these newbies band together, it would increase their chances of survival.

Tang Zheng is no saint. If the newbies must die, he hopes their deaths have value, as many people mean more to share the attack.

By midday, after a long trek, the squad finally beheld the settlement standing among the Stone Forest.

It covered about five hundred square meters, with over thirty houses made of piled stones scattered around without any plan. Some native women were sun-drying meat, weaving ropes, and speaking an incomprehensible language.

Seeing their smiles, Tang Zheng guessed they were probably looking forward to their husbands returning with ample prey.

Several native children, carrying stone axes, were practicing chopping in the Small Square. Two kids were fighting, their scalps bleeding, but no one stopped them; instead, they cheered loudly.

In this tribe, the weak have no right to live. If knocked down, as a punishment, the child will go hungry for three days.

The newbies were stunned by these children, who fought mercilessly. Their eyes were as fierce and ruthless as wild beasts.

Tang Zheng’s gaze moved beyond them, observing the layout of the tribe. Due to a lack of wood, there was no fence, just some wooden stakes around the perimeter topped with human heads and the heads of powerful wild beasts, intended to intimidate outsiders.

"These children have the strength no weaker than an adult!" remarked Shen Jiashu, watching them effortlessly brandish axes weighing over twenty pounds, yet holding them as if they were mere feathers.

"Quick, look at the head on the left, it’s Caucasian, isn’t it?" Fang Zhiwen’s mind was still sharp, "Does it mean that besides us, there are other survivors?"

The stake bore a typical Caucasian male Skull, with dense body hair, eyes wide open in anger, his Neck severed by a blunt blade, rugged and uneven. Judging from the fresh blood still wet on the stake, this guy hadn’t been dead long.

"Estimating from the size of this village, it houses nearly a hundred people." Fang Zhiwen gripped a wooden spear tightly, "We can fight this out; don’t be scared, the adult soldiers were all killed by the Group Leader last night."

"Just in case, let’s strategize, find a place to ambush, and then have a few people provoke them. I don’t think the natives will rush out all at once; it’d be easier to handle them in smaller groups!" Shen Jiashu spoke confidently, causing the newbies to nod repeatedly.

"No, assault head-on!" Tang Zheng refused.

Although Shen Jiashu was dissatisfied, he dared not retort.

"Why?" Xie Yundan bravely posed the question, "Isn’t this how ancient wars were fought?"

"We can’t avoid those rocks!" Fang Zhiwen pointed out, indicating the children, who all carried slingshots and animal skin bags filled with fist-sized stones. At that moment, five were practicing, shattering a wooden target fifty meters away into splinters.

The newbies gasped in shock, knowing that getting hit by one would be painful.

"Maybe their ability to hit moving targets isn’t strong. Besides, getting hit doesn’t necessarily mean fractures, right?" Shen Jiashu advocated, "Besides, even if we assault, we still have to face them, right?"

"Fine, do as you suggested. As for the bait, you choose!" Tang Zheng delegated the task to Shen Jiashu, "The ambush spot is in that patch of Stone Forest one hundred meters away."

"No problem." Shen Jiashu nodded, "Zhao Qian, Shen Zhang, Gao Shuang, you guys come with me as pioneers!"

Tang Zheng led the team to set up the ambush, Gao Shuang immediately confronted his friend with a face full of anger.

"Are you out of your mind? It’s clear Tang Zheng just didn’t want to offend anyone, that’s why he put you in charge." Gao Shuang was actually complaining because his friend had chosen him too.

"Do you think Tang Zheng will worry about offending us?" Shen Jiashu reassured, "This is an opportunity, seize it and we can have superpowers, Gao Shuang, we are close brothers, I need your help."

"Why don’t you choose Zhu Huarong?" Gao Shuang was reluctant, "At least Sun Guofeng would do, right?"

"With Huarong’s size, can he even move?" Shen Jiashu was also considering his own reputation, choosing alumni would most likely end badly, pulling Zhao Qian along was the best outcome, "No turning back now, let’s go."

"Grip your weapons, charge later; as long as the axe has blood and you hit an Indigenous, you’ll qualify for extra food tonight. Those who can’t, your food and water will be halved!" Tang Zheng spat out the ruthless rules, instantly chilling the hearts of some newbies who still harbored hope, staring at him in astonishment.

"Look at your faces, and you? Thinking even with half the food, it’s better than a death send-off?" Tang Zheng stared down like he was looking at Catwoman, sneered, "Let me tell you, the five least contributing people this time will be bait and scouts next time; otherwise, get out of the team."

"Isn’t Tang Zheng being too harsh!" Fang Zhiwen felt Tang Zheng was too aggressive, they should be eased into the carnage.

"If you can’t even defeat the weakest women and children, how will you survive? Future enemies will only be stronger." Tang Zheng moved behind a rock, "Disperse, at most two per group."

Four people including Shen Jiashu stopped 30 meters from the tribe, holding rocks, throwing them inside, the ding-dong sound alarmed the natives.

These children did not hide but instead quickly jumped onto the rooftops, taking a vantage point while holding their slingshots.

Shen Jiashu was discovered, the children excitedly launched the first round of stone bullets, some even screaming, wielding long bone knives and charging out.

"A bunch of savages!" Four newbies turned and ran, seeing these fierce children, even though they were only fifteen or sixteen years old, they didn’t dare to confront them.

Hearing the alarm, the women immediately dropped their tasks, grabbed their slingshots and bone curved knives and rushed towards the main entrance.

"Run!" Shen Zhang, like a rabbit hit by an arrow, frantically sprinted with stones hitting him painfully making him grimace in pain.

"Should have chosen protective clothing." Shen Zhang’s luck was indeed poor, a stone bullet hit the back of his head, directly dazing him, he staggered and fell to the ground.

Zhao Qian heard someone fall but didn’t stop at all, running even faster.

"Should we save him?" Fang Zhiwen knew it was too late to save him, she asked deliberately just to make others feel that Tang Zheng wasn’t ruthless.

"No chance." Tang Zheng’s voice had just dropped when the three fastest children already reached Shen Zhang, pulled out their curved knives and chopped at his neck, a head rolled off.

Blood splashed onto a child’s face, but he wasn’t scared at all, instead excitedly grabbed the hair and lifted the skull, showing it off to his companions.

Another child, unwilling to be outdone, stabbed a curved knife into Shen Zhang’s chest and dug out the heart.

The child holding the skull immediately pushed him, indicating it was his spoils of war; the latter protested loudly!

"How terrifying!" Tong Li’s hands trembled, she had never seen such savage children.

Shen Jiashu and his two companions barely outran the children, if not for the thirty meters distance, they would have been caught earlier.

"Kill!" Seeing the prey entering the ambush circle, Tang Zheng roared and charged, initially hesitating about killing children, but seeing their cruelty, he decided to temporarily abandon mercy.

The newbies stumbled out, two girls actually tripped and fell due to nervousness.

Tang Zheng with stone axes in both hands, leaped and smashed a child’s skull, his timing of attack was perfect, just as they finished their sling shots, reloading gap, hence their stone axes still stuck on their backs, couldn’t be pulled out in time.

"Hit hard!" Tang Zheng flipped three natives, the group of women also noticed and sped up their sprint, while the slightly lagging children also roared and charged fearlessly.

A stone axe grazed Xie Yundan’s face, barely missing her, had it not been for Tang Zheng activating Gravity Abyss, she would have undoubtedly been dead.

Blood splattering, piercing screams, the sound of blades cleaving bones made the newbies go mad, seeing the ferocious expressions of the natives, they gritted their teeth and began to counterattack.

One corpse after another fell to the ground, before Tang Zheng could finish killing, the native women also joined the battle, their bodies stiffened suddenly due to the gravity field.

Fang Zhiwen chopped at a native, seeing her neck nearly severed, the pale trachea oozing with blood, she could no longer bear it and bent down to vomit.

"Surrender and spare death!" Tang Zheng shouted, alas the language barrier persisted, "Bai Guo, throw the chieftain’s head out!"

Bai Guo roared and lifting the chieftain’s head, jumped onto a rock to show it to the natives, but this only drove them crazier.

"Silver Trojan, you really are ruthless!" Tang Zheng was frustrated, originally wanting to capture some captives to replenish soldiers, now could only kill them all. (To be continued.
