Chapter 1560: Chapter 22 The Stone Age
"What is the new mission?" Yu Deye glanced at Tang Zheng, hoping he would be killed for leaking the secrets of the Trojan Room, but apparently, the Silver Trojan had no intention of punishing him.
"No comment!" The Silver Trojan coldly refused.
"I’ll spend points to inquire." Just as Jiang Xiuming finished speaking, he was met with a full-faced blast of fire from the Silver Trojan.
"Are you deaf? This is survival in the wild, not playing house. Should I just give you cheats to pass the level?" The Silver Trojan seemed to be stalling for time. "Moreover, you’re just a lowly Third-order. Get a higher authorization before you start acting all important!"
Jiang Xiuming’s face turned an iron blue with anger.
"What was that mission about? Were you being controlled by someone?" Dantai would not let the Silver Trojan off the hook easily, even now, he remained skeptical.
"There’s no one born yet who can control me, I just had part of my authorization stolen," the Silver Trojan said angrily. It had always appeared before the players as a god-like figure and felt infuriated to be questioned this way.
"What about the people who died?" Bai Guo felt they were innocent.
"If they’re dead, it’s their own darn fault for being dragged into this," the Silver Trojan retorted irritably, purposely counting down loudly to pressure them.
"Who seized your authorization?" Mu Nianqi glared at Bai Guo disapprovingly, annoyed by the irrelevant questions being asked.
"Another Trojan, the game before was to force you to kill each other, to deplete the Conquerors in the Asia Region, but I’ve already dealt with it." The Silver Trojan revealed with disdain. "Because the damaged world needs to be repaired, you must enter the Theme World ahead of time and start the game immediately!"
"Are the two related?" Dantai pointed around, "What about those Buddha statues and Terracotta Warriors? What if ordinary people see them?"
"Someone will take care of it, time’s up, teleportation is beginning!"
Their vision plunged into darkness, so deep they couldn’t see their own hands, and when it returned, Dantai crouched down, holding his gun and guarding the surroundings.
It was an afternoon on a primitive grassland, with the scorching sun hanging in the sky, radiating blazing light that made the skin feel dry from loss of moisture.
Until the end of their vision, it was all slightly yellow unknown grass reaching the calves, and a herd of horse-like creatures was enjoying the cool at the front of a soon-to-dry puddle, rolling in the mud.
"Where is this place?" Ruan Feifei was astonished, "It feels a bit like the African savannah!"
A giant roar of a wild beast echoed over the grassland, with flocks of birds flapping into the sky; the herd of horses stopped and pricked their ears to listen, then started running towards a bush in the distance.
"Hurry, follow them!" Dantai urged, as the herd obviously sensed danger, it would be right to follow them.
"But not everyone has been teleported yet!" Ai Yixin looked around and saw that only a dozen newbies had arrived, with no Conquerors in sight. In fact, she didn’t care much about this, as what worried her most were that Tang Zheng and her husband were not there, which would greatly increase the survival pressure on this temporary team.
"They cannot come now, the damned Silver Trojan has split us up," cursed Dantai, who, always cautious, tried to access his Supplies only to find that his Wristwatch was restricted. "Can any of you use your wristwatches?"
"No!" Ruan Feifei’s face looked grim, trying to release Electric Current, but there was nothing coming from her fingertips. "Damn, Abilities are also restricted."
Ai Yixin called out to the Silver Trojan through her wristwatch, but was met with silence.
The newbies also sensed something was wrong, becoming slightly panicked.
"Looks like this is going to be troublesome," Dantai regained his Calm, starting to command, "All of you shut up. From now on, unless there’s a sudden situation, no one is allowed to speak."
In another area, Mu Nianqi was crouched in the grass, watching a slow-moving dinosaur lumber past, contemplating the next move.
"The Silver Trojan didn’t even give a hint, what do we do now?" Yu Deye sat in the grass, fuming, "We don’t even know where to go."
"Wristwatch disabled, Abilities disabled, even the Firearms in hand are disabled, the difficulty of this mission is enough to give us a hard time." Lu Fan squatted on the ground, checking the existing Equipment and Supplies. Except for the initial Rifles the newbies got, even S-Class Firearms brought by Conquerors could not be used.
"Damn, ever since entering the World of Warhammer, there hasn’t been a good day; does the Silver Trojan have a grudge against you guys? The difficulty of each mission is always off the charts?" Yu Deye mumbled to himself, turning towards Lu Fan’s pocket, "Hey, pass me a piece of Chocolate."
"Have you no shame?" Little Lolita shot a glare at Yu Deye, not afraid at all, "These are combat Supplies, for life-saving purposes."
"Yu Deye, haven’t you forgotten the most basic survival Experience after leaving the Trojan Horse Game for a while? Calm down right now," Mu Nianqi scolded.
The newbies lay flat on the ground, not daring to say a word, the sight of the dinosaur had truly terrified them.
"How exciting is this compared to American blockbusters?" Yu Deye joked, realizing that he must find something to eat first. As a second-order English player, even unarmed, he still had the confidence to survive.
In a sparse copse, Gu Xueqi was squatting on the ground, checking her supplies, with a group of newcomers arguing behind her. She had already confirmed that many items were forbidden, but she didn’t panic at all.
"Hey, what the hell is this place?" A middle-aged man couldn’t help asking Gu Xueqi, and others’ gazes also shifted toward her.
The school beauty had been too silent before, almost invisible, which made the newcomers not fear her. Otherwise, even if it were someone insignificant like Li Huiwen standing here, they wouldn’t dare to be so rude.
Gu Xueqi didn’t reply but inserted the life-saving straight knife into her sheath at her waist and observed her surroundings before choosing a small hill in the distance as a landmark to head toward.
"Hey, are you going to talk or what?" The middle-aged man got a bit angry and came over aggressively with a few followers, but many still stood behind, watching the scene unfold with indifference.
Gu Xueqi got up and walked a few steps but was blocked. She tried to circle around, but the middle-aged man suddenly reached out and grabbed her collar.
Gu Xueqi was beautiful, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been nicknamed the school beauty. The middle-aged man looked at her graceful features and for a moment, thought about violating her. This was the wilderness where no one would interfere.
"We must conserve every bit of energy!" The school beauty’s expression remained cold as she muttered to herself, suddenly drawing the dagger from her waist and slashing across the middle-aged man’s cheek.
The middle-aged man only felt a flash before his eyes, followed by a pain on his nose, as blood trickled into his mouth.
"You’re looking for death!" The middle-aged man, enraged, raised his AK74 rifle and was about to fire.
Pfft, Gu Xueqi swung her arm, plunging the sharp straight knife into the man’s wrist. With a yank, he could no longer hold the rifle, and, clutching his wrist, he fell to the ground, screaming.
The other newcomers were frightened by Gu Xueqi’s ruthlessness and pointed their guns at her.
Gu Xueqi looked back, glanced at them indifferently, and no one dared to meet her gaze; they all looked away.
"On the boundless prairie, without knowing the direction, it’s best to reach higher ground to observe the surroundings. If no traces of human habitation are found, look for water sources. Animals need to drink, ensuring food, and human settlements are generally not far from water."
Gu Xueqi began moving forward, listing every concern they needed to take note of. She didn’t become complacent just because her strength increased.
The newcomers looked at each other, unclear about Gu Xueqi’s intentions. However, when a few women, unsure of what to do, followed her, others did the same.
"If you are going to follow, try to keep quiet. I don’t want us to attract wild beasts with noise!" Gu Xueqi warned as she looked back; she had known these people would follow. Human nature is such that if you discuss and negotiate team command with them, they would raise many questions and be uncooperative. But if you ignore them, they will subconsciously follow for their safety.
By doing this, newcomers feel they’re dispensable and worthless, shamefully tagging along, and so they don’t make excessive demands.
"Mom, wait for me, I will come back alive!" Gu Xueqi took a deep breath and set out on her survival journey, undaunted even without a Conqueror by her side.
Watching the afternoon sunlight fall on the silent silhouette of the girl moving forward, the newcomers felt a sense of strength and perseverance, calming them.
Squatting in front of a dried-up waterhole, looking at the huge wild beast skeletons in the mud, Tang Zheng curled his lips.
"No need for anything, Brother Tang!" Bai Guo, imitating Tang Zheng, had finished sorting her supplies and then tested her abilities, only to find they were restricted.
"No way?" Tang Zheng was puzzled. "I can summon my Musketeer?"
As soon as Marilyn appeared, she blew Tang Zheng a kiss, pressing her ample chest towards him.
"Then why can’t I use mine?" Bai Guo pouted. "I wonder how Sister Qin Yan is doing?"
Being with Tang Zheng, Natural Stupid wasn’t scared at all; after all, her brother-in-law would solve all the problems.
"We’re in trouble!" Tang Zheng frowned. He had shown An Xiuru his wristwatch and many props from the Trojan Room, which weren’t erased. He thought Silver had shown mercy, but now it seemed he was able to slightly break free from its constraints for some reason.
Tang Zheng had already tested it; except for abilities, everything else was restricted. The Devil Flame Pistol he had prepared couldn’t even fire, and he found himself back to the days when he could only rely on the life-saving straight knife.
"There’s another problem—has this Trojan reset or not? Although it speaks harshly, it can fake it!" Tang Zheng scanned the crowd of newcomers; he knew almost all of them, with half being alumni.
After merging with the Key of Time and Space, Trojan’s physical restrictions on Tang Zheng had greatly reduced, but those items were still within the control range. However, compared to other Conquerors, being able to use abilities was his biggest advantage.
"Tang Zheng, can you explain what’s happening? Are we all just dreaming?" Fang Zhiwen approached Tang Zheng with a forlorn expression.
