Chapter 95: Chapter 95: The Eve of the Wedding

Xie Yanchuan tiptoed to close the door again, then headed off to school.

When Xu Jinzhi got up, she felt disoriented, as if she didn’t know what time it was. When she tried to move, a wave of soreness snapped her back to reality.

The events of last night replayed quickly in her mind, making it clear to Xu Jinzhi that her current discomfort was entirely due to her own "self-inflicted" actions!

Xu Jinzhi grimaced and opened her eyes to look around the bedroom. Seeing it quiet and unmoving, she knew that Xie Yanchuan must have already gone to school.

She slightly shifted to find a less uncomfortable position, then once again stayed still, closing her eyes as if to continue sleeping.

A few minutes later, Xu Jinzhi opened her eyes; she was now fully awake but still felt terribly sore and didn’t want to move.

Still, Xu Jinzhi got up. Already dressed in a proper set of pajamas, Xu Jinzhi went to the bathroom to wash up. While brushing her teeth and looking at herself in the mirror, she didn’t know what she thought, but she couldn’t help but laugh.

With no one else at home, Xu Jinzhi didn’t bother changing out of her pajamas and went straight out of the bedroom.

In the kitchen, there was breakfast prepared by Xie Yanchuan. It was already winter, and the breakfast would have gotten cold if left outside, so Xie Yanchuan had specifically kept it warm in the kitchen.

Sitting at the dining table, Xu Jinzhi ate breakfast while checking messages on her phone. Half an hour passed, and Xu Jinzhi had mostly finished eating and replying to messages.

Having nothing else urgent to do, Xu Jinzhi then settled on the sofa to wait for Xie Yanchuan to return home, while also planning her tasks for the day.

Close to eleven o’clock, Xie Yanchuan came home, opening the door and seeing Xu Jinzhi sitting on the sofa.

The images from last night uncontrollably resurfaced in his mind. His cheeks reddened a bit, but after being together with Xu Jinzhi, he had gradually learned to put on a thick face.

Seeing Xu Jinzhi looking at him with a look of silent reproach, Xie Yanchuan feigned nonchalance, as if noticing nothing, and said gently as he walked over, "You’re up."

Xu Jinzhi didn’t respond to Xie Yanchuan and just kept staring at him.

Xie Yanchuan indeed felt somewhat guilty—not that he thought there was anything wrong with what had happened between them, as their marriage was legally recognized; doing nothing would have been the real issue.

His guilt stemmed from his inability to control himself. Even though Xu Jinzhi had begun to refuse, he still couldn’t let her go.

He even harbored somewhat wicked desires to go even further with her.

"Are you uncomfortable? Shall I give you a massage?" Xie Yanchuan sat by Xu Jinzhi and reached out to grab her leg.

Xu Jinzhi directly pushed him away with her foot, clearly rejecting him. However, she couldn’t keep her foot raised for long as she lacked the strength.

"Decadent scoundrel," Xu Jinzhi said slowly, as if she had completely seen through Xie Yanchuan.

But when had she actually seen through Xie Yanchuan?

In her previous life, Xie Yanchuan had always been like this.

But she was so tired—what was wrong with criticizing Xie Yanchuan a bit?

Xie Yanchuan naturally had no objections. He had already done what he had done; why would Xu Jinzhi’s few words matter?

It wasn’t like he was cursing him.

"Doesn’t it hurt?" Xie Yanchuan asked.

"Why didn’t you feel sorry for me at that time?" Xu Jinzhi retorted.

Xie Yanchuan didn’t reply, but reached out again to grab Xu Jinzhi’s ankle, then shifted his position to let Xu Jinzhi’s legs rest on his knees.

This time, Xu Jinzhi didn’t refuse.

Xie Yanchuan’s fingers were quite attractive. Apart from being larger than a woman’s palm, they were just as fair and delicate. Xu Jinzhi wasn’t particularly obsessed with hands, but had to admit that Xie Yanchuan’s hands were good-looking.

However, men naturally exerted more strength, even though Xie Yanchuan’s hands looked like a woman’s, the strength was still present.

As Xie Yanchuan massaged, Xu Jinzhi indeed felt her thighs weren’t as uncomfortable anymore, and it was a while before she asked Xie Yanchuan to stop.

"Shall I cook lunch, then we go out after we eat?" Xie Yanchuan asked Xu Jinzhi as he stopped.

"Are you hungry?" Xu Jinzhi asked.

"Not really." Xie Yanchuan didn’t feel hungry, but it was mealtime.

"I’m not hungry either." Xu Jinzhi had just had breakfast a little more than an hour ago and didn’t feel hungry, "Let’s go get the rings first, grab a bite outside, and then head to the hotel in the afternoon."

The day after tomorrow was Xie Yanchuan and Xu Jinzhi’s wedding, and the venue was already being hastily decorated. As the main characters, Xie Yanchuan and Xu Jinzhi naturally needed to familiarize themselves with the venue.

"Okay." Xie Yanchuan had no objections.

Xu Jinzhi then got off the sofa and went to the bedroom to change her clothes, only to see traces left by Xie Yanchuan on her body and responded helplessly.

Luckily, Xie Yanchuan had a sense of propriety. When reminded that the wedding was imminent and that if the marks were left in visible places, they wouldn’t be covered by the wedding dress, he restrained himself to less visible areas.

Xu Jinzhi didn’t bother with makeup and left with Xie Yanchuan after changing her clothes.

In December, City A was already very cold, especially for someone like Xu Jinzhi who was sensitive to cold. Fortunately, the weather had been nice recently, with sunshine everyday.

They first went to the studio to retrieve their wedding rings, then found a nearby restaurant for a quick meal, and directly headed to the hotel.

By the time they got there, the venue was almost completely set up. Since Xu Jinzhi’s wedding didn’t include flowers, they didn’t have to wait until the night before the wedding to arrange them, so what they saw was essentially the final setup.

Xu Jinzhi had put her heart into this wedding, finalizing many of the details herself, so she already had a rough idea of the scene in her mind from the beginning.

Now, looking at the wedding venue, Xu Jinzhi was very satisfied.

After confirming there were no issues with the venue setup, Xu Jinzhi and Xie Yanchuan started rehearsing the wedding day proceedings under the guidance of the staff.

However, even just the rehearsal was enough to make Xie Yanchuan extremely nervous, several times as if he couldn’t understand what the staff was saying, appearing completely dazed.

Xu Jinzhi couldn’t help but laugh, while Xie Yanchuan looked at her somewhat helplessly. He was very nervous and couldn’t control himself.

"It’s okay, haven’t we already registered? What’s there to panic about?" Xu Jinzhi reassured him.
