In the evening, as Dark Sakura prepared to leave Naruto’s place, she suddenly thought of something. She turned around to look at him and asked, "By the way, how did it feel to switch midway through? Do you find it exciting?"

"Huh?" Naruto’s mind went blank for a moment, ‘How was I supposed to answer that honestly?’

"There was no feeling at all. It was just something I had to do to wake you up."

"Really?" Dark Sakura smirked and pulled Naruto toward her for a kiss at the doorway.

Halfway through the kiss, Naruto suddenly felt something was off, ‘Shit! They switched!’

He looked down to see Pink Sakura’s face, flushed red. Covering his face, he asked, "Has the time you agreed upon come?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Alright then, be careful on your way out. Watch where you're going." What else could Naruto say? He could only say that Dark Sakura sure knew how to play her cards, ‘She was truly something else.’

Sakura hurriedly ran off, dashing through the corridors and out onto the streets of Konoha. She leaned against a tree, her heart pounding. Her head felt a bit swollen… probably due to the shared memories.

As she recalled the events from the afternoon, her whole worldview was shattered. For a moment, she felt a little confused. Even though she tried her best to get closer, Sasuke's figure seemed to drift further away.

Two days passed in a flash, and Ino, who had agreed to meet, had been too busy and had to cancel at the last minute.

Finally, Naruto received news about Danzo. The Daimyo of the Land of Fire had invited Danzo to stay in his mansion for a few days. In truth, this was just a ploy… he was trying to keep Danzo close under the guise of friendship.

Danzo has done a lot of dirty work for Konoha over the past few decades, and has also helped the nobles of the Land of Fire. He has a lot of leverage over the nobles that they cannot let on.

Naturally, they couldn’t just leave him in Konoha now that he was out of power. If this old dog suddenly went crazy and spill everything, it would throw the Land of Fire into chaos.

"Why are they suddenly taking him away?" Choji asked with a frown.

"It was those ‘great’ nobles who came up with the idea. They said it was an invitation because they were afraid that Danzo would reveal their secrets." Shikamaru explained.

"Who would have thought? Aside from throwing lavish parties, those nobles actually have this kind of trick up their sleeve?" Naruto, who had been crashing the meal, commented between mouthfuls.

"Naruto, don't be impulsive at this time." Shikamaru advised, "I know you have conflicts with Danzo, but it's not worth being impulsive at this time."

"Even though Danzo has lost his power, he still holds value in the eyes of many nobles. It is not worth offending all the Land of Fire’s nobles over one man."

"Why would I act impulsively? Danzo’s in such a pathetic state now, I couldn’t be bothered to deal with him." Naruto replied, barely pausing between bites of food.

"Let’s not talk about that anymore. Let’s just eat."

Shikamaru still looked worried but held his tongue. He picked up his chopsticks, sighing softly to himself.

"Who would like to pay the bill?" After some time, the boss came over.

Under the shade of a tree at the small stall, dim lights flickered. Naruto kept his head down, focused on eating, pretending not to hear. Shikamaru coughed and started fishing through his pockets.

Choji looked at Shikamaru with a dull face as he searched his pockets for a long time and took out a few scattered coins.

Choji was immediately dumbfounded, ‘What a disaster these two are!’

In the end, Choji couldn’t take it anymore and got up to settle the bill.

When he returned, Shikamaru and Naruto were chatting away happily, eating and drinking like nothing had happened. Their freeloading skill was so smooth it was almost admirable.

Naruto had been short on money lately, which Choji could understand. But when he looked at Shikamaru, he couldn't help but wonder, "Shikamaru, where's your money?"

"My money? What money? I’m not a Shinobi anymore." Shikamaru replied irritably, picking at his food with his chopsticks. Then, he added with a sigh, "I've been so busy lately, and I’m not in any high position. I just got married recently, and money’s needed everywhere. Where do you expect me to have any?"

"Didn’t Uncle Shikaku…"

"No, I refused his help on my own initiative. I don't really want to get involved in the higher-ups' affairs." Shikamaru waved his chopsticks dismissively, grumbling with some frustration, "But now, as a price, I’ve also turned down his financial support."

Hearing this, Chojiwas a little dumbfounded. He wondered how come in just a few days, the brothers around him suddenly become so broke? This was a strange indeed.

"You guys..." Choji didn’t know what to say, so he swallowed his words and changed the subject, asking Naruto, "I heard Ino's leaving the village soon for the project?"

"Yes, lend me some money so I can buy a gift." Naruto extended his hand with a grin.

Choji: "..."

‘I should have kept my mouth shut. This guy has no shame at all!’ Even so, Choji handed over all the money he had on him. After all, money wasn’t an issue for him.

The Akimichi Clan only values three things: food, village, and companions. The important part was, he had plenty of money. His family's wealth was vast and at his disposal.

Money came fast, and there was no end to it. He also had no grand ambitions.

"Do you like your gift?" Naruto handed the farewell present to Ino, which was a heart-shaped platinum pendant, exquisitely crafted.

This was bought with Choji’s money, which ultimately went back to Ino. With how close Ino-Shika-Cho are, in a sense, this was basically just moving money from left hand to right hand.

So, Naruto didn’t plan on paying it back. Choji was rich, and Naruto would just repay him when he had money again.

"Wow! I thought you wouldn’t get me anything!" Ino smiled as she took the pendant and put it around her neck, her eyes almost curved into crescents as she smiled.

Suddenly, she seemed to remember something.

"Hey, I missed our last meet-up because of work. You’re not mad, are you?" Ino, now sitting on Naruto’s lap with her arms wrapped around him, asked playfully.

Ino wore a white fitted blouse and a pleated skirt that reached just below her knees, her blonde hair casually tied into a ponytail, giving her a youthful and lively appearance.

"No." Naruto replied, though his hands were already busy. He figured he had spent enough money, so he might as well collect some ‘interest’ first.

Ino giggled, her chest rising and falling as she suppressed her laughter. But noticing Naruto's restless behavior, she bit her lip and gently pushed him away.

"Why are you in such a rush?"

"It’s been so long since we last met, and you’re always busy. Who knows when we'll see each other next time?" Naruto leaned in to kiss her, pressing his lips against hers passionately.

Ino, unable to resist, gently pushed him away again, her breath quickening as she said, "Wait a minute, I’ll go take a shower first."

"Okay." Naruto let her go, watching as she grabbed a bag and dashed into the bathroom.

Ino’s allure to him was like the warmth of the sun… just one touch could fill him with life. And he could also feel the warmth in her soul, which was hot and intense.

The feeling was indescribable and irresistible.

That summer from six years ago may never return, but Ino was still here. As long as she was around, Naruto could still hear the cicadas of his childhood ringing in his ears.
