Rael was standing in the arena made of sand, above him, the dome was covered with a thick layer of glass, and around him lightbulbs were installed in the walls, and they were illuminating the room.

In front of him, was his opponent, a young man, named Zed, and the person was known, as the Young Demon.

He was standing a few meters away from Rael, and his expression was fierce.

His gaze was locked onto Rael, and his eyebrows were furrowed.

"Commencing the 2nd battle, between the challenger, Rael, and the member, Zed,"

The girl’s voice echoed throughout the arena, and the spectators were cheering.

"Let the battle, begin,"

With that, the match was underway.

But...

The two contestants didn’t move.

Instead, they were just standing still, and looking at each other.

The atmosphere was tense, and the air was heavy.

Rael was looking at his opponent, and his face was calm.

Zed, was also staring at his opponent, and his expression, was solemn.

Both of them were sizing each other up, and the tension was rising.

Silence descended upon the arena, and the crowd was waiting with bated breath.

The crowd was whispering, and their expressions were perplexed.

They didn’t know, why neither of them, was making the first move.

And, the confusion, was growing.

Someone complained, and his voice was dissatisfied.

"Let’s just start the fight, and see who will win,"

Another person joined in, and his tone was annoyed.

"Why are they standing still, and wasting our time,"

Other people, joined in, and their voices, were filled with irritation.

"I think, one of them, should just make the first move, and attack the other one,"

Someone suggested, and his voice was exasperated.

"Yeah, there are other contestants, waiting to have their turn,"

Another person, supported, and his voice, was urgent.

"Yeah, it is rude, to hog the arena, and take up so much time,"

Some people murmured, and their tones were angry.

The girl named, Selene, who was also Zed’s sister, was standing near the control panel, and through the glass, she could see the spectators, getting restless.

’Should I do something?’ She thought, and her expression was hesitant.

In front of her, on the control panel, were many buttons, and some screens.

She was wondering, if she should, interfere, and stop the fight.

There was also a mic, attached to the panel, and it was used to communicate, with the two contestants.

She was looking at the two of them, and she was unsure, of what to do.

One, of them, was her brother, and the other, was a candidate, whom her guild master, was interested in.

It was an important match, and the decision was difficult.

’Maybe, I should call off the fight, and say it is a tie, or...’

"Selene,"

Suddenly, a voice interrupted her thoughts, and it belonged to a female.

"Don’t interfere, and let them fight,"

Selene froze, and her eyes were wide.

She was surprised, and her expression was flabbergasted.

She quickly turned her head, and her gaze, landed on a person, who was standing right behind her.

She was a beautiful woman, with long, purple hair, and violet eyes.

Her skin was creamy white, even the purest milk couldn’t compare, and as for her beauty, with a touch of pink shade on her cheeks, she was the epitome of perfection.

She was wearing a white blouse, with a black, knee-tight skirt, and on her feet, was a pair of black high heels.

Her outfit was simple, but, it didn’t matter, because, her beauty, was enough, to attract, everyone’s attention.

And, it did.

Everyone’s, attention was, on her.

It was like, the room had shrunk, and everything else had faded into the background.

Even though, there were a lot of people in the room, she, alone, had attracted all the attention.

And, as for Selene, she was in a daze, and her mouth was slightly open.

"M-Miss Sera,"

She stuttered, and her tone was incredulous.

The woman in front of her was none other than, the Guild Master of the One Guild, and the owner of the guild, Sera.

"W-what a-are you do-doing here?"

Selene stuttered again, and her tone was still trembling.

She couldn’t believe, that her guild master, was, standing, in front of her, and talking, to her.

"I was just, passing by, and decided to take a look, at the candidates, who are applying, for the position, in the guild,"

The guild master Sera, replied, and her voice, was melodic.

"Is there, something, wrong, with that?" She asked, and her tone was soft.

"No, no,"

Selene shook her head, and her tone was flustered.

"I didn’t mean, to offend you, it’s just, that, I didn’t, expect, you to be here,"

She stammered, and her tone was nervous.

"I was, surprised, that’s all,"

"Well, it is okay," Sera, smiled, and her voice was gentle.

"You, are not in the wrong, and you, don’t have, to be, so, formal, with me,"

She assured her, and placed her hand, on the young girl’s shoulder.

"We are, a guild, after all, and you are, my friend, so, don’t be so, tense,"

Her hand was warm, and it was comforting.

"Just, relax, and be yourself,"

"Y-yes, M-miss Sera,"

Selene stuttered, and her eyes were slightly watery.

She was a little moved, and she didn’t know, how to respond.

Just like the time, she had first met, and talked with her, Selene, couldn’t help, but, feel, that Sera, was a kind, and caring, person.

"Ah, don’t cry,"

Sera quickly took out a tissue and wiped the tears, that were forming, in the corner, of the girl’s eyes.

"You, are the daughter, of the famous, ’Berserker’ Bane, and the sister, of the famous, ’Young Demon’ Zed,"

She gently patted, the young girl’s head, and her smile, was warm.

"You should be, proud, of yourself, and act, with confidence,"

"Y-yes, M-Miss Ser-ra,"

Selene sniffled, and her tone was weak.

"Good,"

Sera, smiled, and her voice, was approving.

Meanwhile, Selene, was still, in a daze, and her heart, was beating, fast.

"She must be here to see, her boyfriend, right?"

Someone whispered, and their tone was bitter.

"Why else, would she be, here?"

"Yeah, I know, right,"

Other people, whispered, and their voices, were filled with envy.

"She must, have come, to pick him, up,"

"I bet, they will spend some time, together, after the fight,"

"Damn it, why is he, so lucky, and why do, I, have, to be, single,"

"Yeah, it’s unfair,"

Others grumbled, and their expressions were envious.

They were jealous, and they couldn’t hide their frustration.

Selene’s expression darkened, and her mood became foul.

She had heard, their conversation, and her heart was heavy.

She was sad, and her expression was forlorn.

Her eyes were downcast, and her head was hanging low.

She was depressed, and her heart was full, of sorrow.

But, just as she, was about, to get consumed, by her, misery, a loud bang, resounded, throughout the room, and brought her out, of her thoughts.

’Huh? What was that?’

Surprised, she, looked outside the glass of the control room, and her gaze, landed, on the two, contestants, who were in the middle, of the arena.

Rael was standing on the sand, and his right hand was stretched outward, grabbing Zed’s face, while, Zed, was suspended, above the ground, and his feet, were dangling, in the air.

His body was shining with a black aura, and his expression was grim.

’What just happened?’

Selene’s eyes were wide, and her face was baffled.

’What was that sound?’

Then, she suddenly noticed two red horns, protruding from Zed’s head, and her mind, came to a halt.

’Wait? Red horns? Is that...’

Her mouth was agape, and her expression was dumbfounded.

’Is he gonna use his devil power...’
