Chapter 94: Keep Running

After constructing the sentence in his mind, Tan Wei looked at Xiu Wu, smiled awkwardly and said, "Lao Xiu, it’s normal to date older women. You don’t need to think too much. Maybe Xiao Lin likes you too."

After Tan Wei said that, Xiu Wu looked at him and asked, "Do you think it’s possible for her to fall in love with a baby?"

After Tan Wei heard what he said, everything he wanted to say got stuck in his throat. They discovered that Xiu Wu was not troubled by the age gap between him and Zhu Lin, or the fact that there is simply no way she is that old, but because Zhu Lin regarded them as babies.

Ji Yang touched his chin, thought for a while, and said, "This matter is indeed a bit tricky. If Xiao Lin treats you as a baby, then she can’t possibly treat you as a man."

Hearing what he said, Xiu Wu let out a long, depressed sigh. Seeing his expression that looked like wilted eggplants, Tan Wei and Ji Yang looked at each other again, then patted him on the shoulder and sighed.

Unlike Xiu Wu who has free time to worry about his love life, Teng Bai and his men were running out of time. Looking at the zombies surrounding them from all directions, Teng Bai gritted his teeth. He raised his hands and instantly activated his abilities.

The next second later, everything made of metal within twenty meters around him was floating in the air. Teng Bai controlled his abilities, reshaped those things into sharp spikes, and then threw the spikes at the zombies.

Stab! Stab! Stab!

"Roar!"

As soon as he made a move, the zombies became enraged. Fortunately, he killed many zombies at once. Seeing a small opening in the encirclement, he shouted, "Follow me!"

Upon hearing his order, the remaining soldiers all retreated while shooting at the zombies. Teng Bai saw that the small opening in the encirclement was blocked by more zombies again. He rushed forward and activated his ability. A few seconds later, a huge metal shield covered with spikes formed in front of him.

Seeing the huge shield, the soldiers stopped shooting at the zombies and ran as fast as they could. With Teng Bai’s opening the way, they ran for another three hours before breaking out of the zombie siege.

Seeing that the soldiers were exhausted and their running speed had slowed down a lot, Teng Bai shouted, "If you don’t want to die, just keep running!"

Several soldiers looked back and found that the zombies were still chasing after them, so they gritted their teeth and forced their tired legs to continue running. After running for another two hours, Teng Bai found that the speed of the zombies suddenly slowed down.

He glanced at the scorching sun above his head and spoke while panting, "Keep running. It was already noon, and the zombies would move slower."

With his constant encouragement, the soldiers persisted until they left the outskirts of the small town. Seeing that there were only a few zombies chasing behind them, Teng Bai used his ability to kill them all.

He pointed to a small supermarket on the road out of the small town and said, "Let’s go there and take a rest."

After clearing away the zombies around the small supermarket, the soldiers entered the small supermarket. The moment they opened the door, a pungent smell of rotting flesh hit their faces, but no one cared. They casually cleared the tables and chairs in the small supermarket and fell to the ground panting heavily.

Looking at his exhausted subordinates, Teng Bai said, "Take a rest for two hours."

The soldiers nodded, then took out a small bag of rations from their backpacks and began to eat. They only had two hours to rest and replenish their energy.

After being surrounded by zombies for more than four hours, they had very little ammunition left and all their abilities were exhausted. They also lost several comrades. Fortunately, they had Teng Bai with them. Otherwise, they will all become lunch for zombies.

Teng Bai took a sip of water and asked, "How many bags of seeds did you guys manage to get?"

The vice-captain opened his backpack, counted the seeds, and said, "I only have three small packets of seeds with me."

Other soldiers also opened their backpacks and counted the seeds. After they counted the seeds, the vice-captain said, "Captain, we have lost more than half of the seeds we collected earlier. What is your next plan? Should we go back and get more seeds?"

Teng Bai looked at the exhausted soldiers, shook his head and said, "We have very little ammunition left, and we are also running out of water and food. Moreover, we lost Xiaoyu. Most of our supplies and seeds are in his space. We made it out alive this time just because we had better luck than others. We can’t go back to search for more seeds."

While finding seeds is an important mission, the lives of his subordinates are also important. Teng Bai took another sip of water and said, "Take a rest and we will return to the base."

"Yes, Sir." The soldiers said in unison.

Two hours later, Teng Bai and the soldiers packed their luggage and returned to the base. Due to the sudden attack by zombies, they lost their soldier with space ability and could only return to the base on foot.

While Teng Bai and other teams were busy looking for water, food and seeds, Zhu Lin was also busy selling water, vegetables and staple foods at the night market. Unknowingly, five days passed in the blink of an eye.

Tu Tu sat on the old sofa, looked at its master and said, "Master, it’s already seven o’clock in the evening."

Being reminded by Tu Tu, Zhu Lin glanced at the night sky and asked, "Tu Tu, do you know where Xiu Wu and the others have gone?"
