Chapter 1480: Kingdra’s Love-Struck Brain
Chapter 1480: Kingdra’s Love-Struck Brain
Dhelmise was no match for Feraligatr. As Feraligatr pushed forward for a follow-up attack, Yuga shouted, "Vivillon!"
Vivillon responded immediately, flying swiftly out of the ghost ship. With rapid wingbeats, a Hurricane was stirred up, violently sweeping toward Feraligatr.
Feraligatr, just about to strike Dhelmise again, was forced to retreat. But the hurricane moved too quickly—Feraligatr hadn’t gone far before it was caught up in the storm.
At that moment, Florges and Serperior each whipped out their vines, pulling the unconscious Kingdra and the injured Dhelmise back onto the ship.
"You two keep an eye on Kingdra. I’ll go check on Dhelmise’s condition," Yuga said to them.
In the sea, Feraligatr was now in the heart of the hurricane. The fierce wind blades slashed against its thick and rough armor with loud bangs. Gritting through the pain, it used Aqua Tail to whip up the seawater beneath it. The water rose, spiraling upward, entwined with the storm winds.
Once the wind and water became indistinguishable from one another, Feraligatr used Ice Punch and slammed a fist into the swirling wall of wind. The raging storm instantly froze into an enormous ice sculpture.
Crash!!!
With a loud crack, Feraligatr burst out from the ice, unleashing a Liquidation as it surged toward Vivillon.
Vivillon instinctively used Signal Beam to counter, firing a yellow-green beam of energy that blasted straight at Feraligatr’s face.
However, Feraligatr charged with incredible force, pushing through the beam’s resistance and closing the distance to Vivillon.
Of course, even though it managed to get close, Feraligatr didn’t escape unscathed. Several sections of its hardened scale armor were shattered by the Signal Beam’s impact.
Fortunately, Vivillon activated Protect in time, blocking the oncoming Liquidation.
Feraligatr was bounced back into the sea from the Protect’s recoil. Vivillon, flapping its wings urgently, soared higher into the sky to avoid another strike.
At that moment, Feraligatr suddenly realized that the Kingdra, which had been floating on the surface of the sea, was gone. It instantly flew into a rage. A second later, as if it had figured something out, it turned to look at the nearby ghost ship.
It abandoned Vivillon without hesitation, stepped across the sea using Agility, and in the blink of an eye arrived beneath the ghost ship, ramming into it with full force.
But a faint blue glow rose from the surface of the ship, forming a shield-like barrier. When Feraligatr struck it, it felt like hitting a wall of cotton—completely ineffective.
That blue glow had been formed from the combined psychic powers of the Ghost-type Pokémon working aboard the ship, providing powerful protection.
When Kingdra had slammed into the ship earlier, they hadn’t reacted in time—this time, they wouldn’t let it happen again.
Feraligatr rammed the ship several times, but seeing it remained unshaken, it roared in fury and leapt into the air using Liquidation, intending to board the ship and search for Kingdra directly.
Just then, Vivillon appeared overhead and released an Electroweb, blasting Feraligatr right back into the sea.
Wrapped in the electric web, Feraligatr plunged into the water, golden currents of electricity scattering wildly through the sea, causing it to flail and roll around in pain. After a while, it finally tore through the web using Crunch, regaining its freedom—but its scales were now scorched black in large patches.
At this point, Feraligatr’s eyes turned blood-red. It dove deep into the sea and used the water’s cover to activate Dragon Dance. As it spun, a massive whirlpool formed on the sea’s surface.
Now that it had disappeared into the water, Vivillon couldn’t do anything to it. Seizing the opportunity, Yuga commanded Vivillon, "Vivillon, use Quiver Dance!"
It was time for a battle of the dances!
Vivillon immediately seized the opportunity and began to dance gracefully.
Its Quiver Dance had been specially trained, so its speed far surpassed that of Feraligatr. Although Feraligatr had started Dragon Dance first, it was only halfway through its routine when Vivillon had already completed six full Quiver Dances, maxing out its Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed stat boosts.
Once the power-up was complete, Vivillon felt ready. It brought its wings together in front of its body, and a massive yellow-green energy orb suddenly began forming between them.
The orb radiated terrifying power before transforming into a beam of light that shot straight toward the whirlpool on the ocean’s surface.
Boom!!!
A thunderous explosion rang out. The yellow-green beam obliterated the whirlpool, and the resulting violent waves rocked the ghost ship backward.
As the whirlpool vanished, the ocean began to gradually calm again. Vivillon fixed its eyes on the sea, trying to spot Feraligatr’s presence amid the aftermath.
Then the water suddenly churned again, and a brutal, menacing presence burst forth from beneath the surface—who else could it be but Feraligatr?
At this point, Feraligatr’s scales were already badly damaged, many patches cracked or missing, and its battered appearance, combined with a fierce snarl, made it look even more terrifying.
Something was off with Feraligatr!
Yuga suddenly realized something and shouted loudly, "Vivillon, watch out for Outrage!"
Yuga had encountered many Dragon-type Pokémon before and quickly deduced the reason for Feraligatr’s abnormal state.
A Feraligatr that knew Outrage and had inherited Dragon Dance clearly had at least one Dragon-type parent or had Dragon-type blood in its lineage.
No sooner had Yuga shouted his warning than Feraligatr, now wild-eyed and manic, surged upward on a stream of water, charging straight at Vivillon.
But Vivillon, with its maxed-out speed boost, vanished from its spot in the blink of an eye. Feraligatr struck only empty air. It tried to pursue Vivillon again, but Vivillon flapped its wings and unleashed a barrage of Air Slash blades, all of which hit with pinpoint accuracy.
To be precise, it wasn’t just that Vivillon had excellent aim—Feraligatr, under the effect of Outrage, had lost all rationality. It didn’t even attempt to dodge. In a state of berserk confusion, its mind was filled only with one thing: attack, attack, attack. Dodging didn’t exist in that mindset.
Even as the Air Slashes struck, Feraligatr charged forward—until suddenly, its movement paused. The water that had been holding it aloft vanished, and with a splash, it fell into the sea.
But it didn’t stop there. After falling into the water, it balled up a fist and punched itself hard in the face—without a hint of hesitation or restraint.
With just that one blow, blood began streaming from its mouth and snout.
This was the confusion side effect of Outrage finally kicking in.
Already severely wounded, this self-inflicted punishment made Feraligatr tilt its head and faint instantly.
Seeing that Feraligatr had knocked itself out, Vivillon leisurely flew back to the ghost ship, thinking smugly, You collapsed before I even had to try seriously!
Meanwhile, Yuga had just finished treating Dhelmise. After reminding it to rest well for the next couple of days, he had Florges use her vines to pull Feraligatr up onto the ship from the sea.
Looking at the two unconscious Pokémon before him, Yuga thought, Not bad... that turned out better than expected.

Two Pokémon—one at the Elite level and one at the Champion level—both were extremely rare, especially the Feraligatr, who had actually reached the Champion level despite having only blue potential.
It wasn’t that Pokémon with blue potential couldn’t reach the Champion level—it was just that the probability was so low it was nearly one in a hundred. Yet the Feraligatr before him had done it, proving that it was far from ordinary.
Yuga gave both Pokémon a simple treatment, but he didn’t fully heal them. After all, neither had been officially captured yet, and he was worried that if they recovered completely, they might rebel.
Feraligatr, having stronger recovery abilities, was the first to wake up. At this point, the side effects of Outrage had worn off, and its rationality had returned.
Its first reaction was to look toward Kingdra. Seeing that Kingdra was still unconscious, an anxious look appeared on Feraligatr’s face, but because of its still-unhealed injuries, it couldn’t move easily.
Yuga noticed and said, "You don’t need to worry. I’ve already treated him. Kingdra’s fine. He should wake up in a bit."
Feraligatr clearly didn’t believe him, and its eyes were full of suspicion as it stared at Yuga.
Yuga shrugged helplessly. "It’s true. Why would I lie to you? You’ve both already fallen into my hands."
Feraligatr thought about it and decided that made sense, so it quietly let out a sigh of relief.
Seeing how concerned Feraligatr was about Kingdra, Yuga asked, "Is Kingdra your child?"
Feraligatr turned its head away, avoiding eye contact, but Yuga had already guessed the answer.
"Looks like he is."
As for why he didn’t suspect the two were a couple or had some other relationship—it was because the look in Feraligatr’s eyes when gazing at Kingdra was too gentle, too maternal.
Soon, Kingdra slowly regained consciousness as well. But the first thing it worried about wasn’t its mom—it looked toward Primarina instead. The moment its eyes landed on Primarina, her heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.
Seeing Primarina frightened by Kingdra’s glare, Yuga smacked Kingdra on the head. "What do you think you’re doing to my Primarina?!"
To Yuga’s surprise, Kingdra actually blushed at his words, leaving Yuga with a head full of question marks.
What the heck? So... was this all a misunderstanding? Kingdra didn’t want to hurt Primarina?
As it turned out, Kingdra had fallen for Primarina at first sight and wanted to pursue her romantically. But unfortunately, back then Kingdra had looked so aggressive and terrifying that it scared Primarina half to death—she thought Kingdra was trying to hunt her.
Well... in a way, "hunt" might not have been the wrong word.
At the time, Primarina had run off so fast that Kingdra couldn’t catch her, and it went home feeling down for quite a while. Who could have guessed that today, while swimming, it would see Primarina again—sitting right there at the front of the ship?
Kingdra had been thrilled, and once again managed to mess things up in its excitement.
Yuga, upon learning the truth, was completely speechless. Primarina was dumbfounded too.
Watching Kingdra bounce excitedly toward Primarina again, Yuga couldn’t help but say, "Don’t you care about your mom at all?"
Only then did Kingdra realize that its mother was also here. Letting out a startled cry, it immediately bounced back to her side.
At that moment, Feraligatr looked at her overly enthusiastic son with a deadpan expression, completely drained of emotion.
So you get yourself a girlfriend and forget about your mom, huh? Wait—she’s not even your girlfriend yet!
At that moment, Yuga asked, "Would the two of you like to follow me?"
Without even thinking about it, Kingdra and Feraligatr directly refused. They were the overlords of this part of the sea, commanding the winds and waves, living free and unrestrained. They had no interest whatsoever in following Yuga and becoming subordinates.
That’s right—in the eyes of Feraligatr and Kingdra, becoming someone’s subordinate meant submitting to slavery.
The two of them, mother and son, lived in the primal seas and had never been influenced by the Alliance’s "humans and Pokémon living in harmony" propaganda. In their understanding, "following" someone meant bowing down, accepting enslavement and being ordered around.
Yuga leaned close to Kingdra’s ear and whispered, "Don’t you want to be with Primarina? If you follow me, you’ll have a chance to stay close to her."
Kingdra secretly glanced at Primarina, and hesitation flickered in its heart. In its eyes, Primarina was like a goddess. If it could be with the goddess every day...
Noticing the hesitation in her son’s eyes, Feraligatr panicked. She had no idea what Yuga was whispering to Kingdra, and could only desperately try to keep her son from being swayed by Yuga’s words.
Yuga continued whispering into Kingdra’s ear.
"If you leave like this, you’ll never see Primarina again. Are you okay with that?"
Of course not!
Under Yuga’s continuous coaxing and tempting, Kingdra eventually clenched his jaw and agreed to follow Yuga.
Yuga thought to himself: Didn’t expect this guy to be such a simp. Just as I thought, simps are the easiest to fool!
Feraligatr was stunned. She never expected her son to give in so easily!
At this point, Feraligatr still didn’t know why her son had agreed to follow Yuga. She just assumed something had gone terribly wrong in his brain.
After Kingdra agreed to stay, he told his mother she could leave. But how could Feraligatr just leave alone? Obviously, she couldn’t! She and her son had depended on each other for decades, never spending a day apart. How could she rest easy leaving him behind?
So she clenched her jaw and decided to stay too—at the very least, she needed to figure out how that human had managed to seduce her son.
Feraligatr could never have imagined... her son was just a hopeless romantic.
Meanwhile, Yuga was still manipulating Kingdra.
"Don’t tell your mom the real reason you stayed. Otherwise, she’ll definitely dislike Primarina. You wouldn’t want your future wife and mom to get into fights, right?"
Kingdra, whose brain wasn’t exactly the sharpest, actually found Yuga’s words to make a lot of sense. So when Feraligatr secretly asked him why he chose to stay, Kingdra stammered and mumbled but refused to say a word, which made Feraligatr furious.
What a waste of effort raising this boy!
Feraligatr’s mate had also been a Kingdra. When the two Pokémon came together, they hadn’t been particularly powerful yet. Not long after, the Kingdra died while out searching for food for the pregnant Feraligatr—he’d been killed by other wild Pokémon.
Feraligatr raised Kingdra all by herself through hardship and struggle, nurturing him to become this strong... only for him to grow into such a disappointment!
Because of this, Feraligatr had taken a strong dislike to Yuga, firmly believing that her son turning his back on her was all the fault of this two-legged creature.
She simply couldn’t understand what was so great about this ugly two-legged beast!
