Levon also noticed that the deeper they advanced, the less attractive their surroundings were. This must be another aspect of reminding them that they, Bloodren 10s were the trash of this place.
Don’t get them wrong, it was all great and probably breathtaking to make in the outside world. But only after staying in the Order, can one understand that there was nothing so wonderful about the place they were currently in.
Sure it was an upgrade from the last place, but it still wasn’t as excellent as what the Bloodren 9 and 8 places looked like.
Soon they reached the Twin buildings connected to each other by long walkway bridges.
One might think these buildings were close to each other, but that’s where you would be wrong. They were far apart and departed by an open courtyard that many used for training.
Clara took them to the left building. The doors had giant black hoops for pulling. They stepped into the grand entrance hall, and were instantly led through many paths and corridors.
Looking around, Levon noticed that ALL rooms were in use ... And unlike their first mansion where room allocations only happen from the 2nd floor up, this one started at ground floor.
The gang walked and walked along the open corridor spaces that had room to the right, and grand floor to ceiling windows to the left.
The further they walked away from the entrance space, the more it looked like Clara was trying to bury them in a place no one would ever find.
"Ah..." Clara finally stopped after several minutes of indoor walking. "Here you are... your new rooms."
That was of fresh new Bloodren 10s moving in. As for who gets what room... isn’t that left for them to decide?
With that, Clara shrugged and left with her goons.
It’s times like these that made her list for chaos grow all the more.
....
....
—An unknown Site, Within the Blood Line—
The lands seemed to always be plagued with darkness, pupil thunder and rains. The land was barren, and even the trees that chose to grow, were tested, jagged and without a single leaf on sight.
The vast plains stretched out for miles and miles. And at the highest point of the open plains, stood a gloomy castle.
The castle was enormous, eating up a space many could estimate to be the same as that of a city. It looked haunted, eerie, and downright spooky.
Bats flew around the castle’s windows and towers, as did other peculiar smaller creatures.
Puff~
The few creatures in question now transformed into humans with stunning appearances, after reaching the castle’s gates.
My, my, my...
It seemed there’s Party today—one only the elite could attend. The Vampires of the top echelon hierarchy, had appeared one by one in attires that could make many in the outside world envious.
"Duke Archibald... pleasure you again."
"Ahhh... Duchess Karima. It’s been 270 years since I last set sights on you... but back then, you were just a wee xxxxx.... Congratulations on becoming a Duchess."
Walking through the vast castle premises, groups of vampires mingled as they made their way to the main castle structure—a soaring building with a potent aura.
One must know that to them, this land where the castle stood on, was their own ’Holy Land.’
This entire land full of barren space, was the initial spot their Master first emerged from when he checked out from the Pits of Hell. And since then, even after the crack was sealed, this place continued to hold on to an oppressive aura of darkness that could make many slayers faint.... Talk less of ordinary humans.
More and more vampires arrived, many the scanty castle a little livier... and deep within the castles in an underground cavern, movement began to stir.
How ominous...
The Stone cursed burial chamber was shrouded in a darkness so thick it seemed to pulse with a life of its own.
High above, the vaulted ceilings seemed lost in shadow, with its ancient stones slick of century year-old memory.
It was quite eerie that the only light that faintly illuminated the space came from a hundred guttering candles. Their flames flickered when the unnatural draft whispered through the cracks of the mausoleum walls.
The air was cold and heavy with the scent of rotting damp soil and a mix of sulphur and blood. Even the strong slayers in power would be coughing out their lungs after staying in such a space for long.
—And at the center of the open gory chamber, sat a coffin unlike any other.
It was carved from a single block of peculiar black wood, polished to a mirror sheen with a surcharge scribbled with runes that also glimmered faintly underneath the candlelight.
How magnificently ghastly...
Silver art traced the lid in intricate patterns, forming coiling serpents, twisted roses, and sigils that foretold darkness and nothing else.
Well, the coffin was raised on a black platform surrounded by gloom.
Soon, a sudden remor ran through the space. The candles flared, and the runes on the coffin blazed with cold purplish fires.
With the sound of a dying star, the lid slid open, revealing a figure who was no shorter than 12 feet tall.
The Master—that’s what many called the figure lying in the coffin.
Of course, some also call him the Dark Lord.
Opening his eyes unhurriedly, the figure rose with impossible grace, as of gravity itself bowed before him. His skin was alabaster, flawless and cold. And his eyes when opened, were pools of midnight reflecting the candle flames as twin stars.
Such a man felt ethereal and too fictional. His hair was raven-black, cascading over a high collared coat of midnight Blue. The figure was up. He paused, surveying his most loyal subjects with a smile both cruel and beautiful.
"Master..." The 4 vampire butlers spoke humbly while on one-bended knee.
"Arise." The Master spoke softly, leading the way out of his sleeping chambers and upwards, towards the main event—the party gathered for his Arising.
It’s been a while since he woke, but this was the first time he had all his powerful echelon vampires in one sitting.
The assembled bowed deeply, with their voices now a chorus: "Master..."
"Hmm." He stepped into the audience hall with movements both fluid and predatory. The gloom seemed to intensify around him, and the air also crackled with power wherever he passed.
"My children, welcome." He spoke with a velvety voice that caressed their ears, but also made them anxious. "Now that I’ve awakened, you all know what happens next... But first, let’s speak of Zion."
Zion... Zion...
A ripple of excitement passed through the crowd. Duchess Mina had her lips stained with fresh blood as she played with the glass in her hand.
"Finally, Zion is about to be summoned.... I wonder who or what this Zion is..."
Duke Ashford, tall and grand, nodded. "Hahahahaha~... Finally, we will let the world tremble once again. Honestly, things started to be a bore without the master around."
"Indeed," another agreed. "Now, with the Master’s return, we’ll let those slayers qual in their sanctuaries as we prepare for the final Crusade."
Murmurs of glee rose, as many whispered talks of Zion and the upcoming final Crusade.
The Master chuckled mysteriously, soon changing form into a height more acceptable to humans and figure even more gratifying than earlier.
"Zion shall be called," he declared. "Sooner than you think..."
But for now, he—the Master—would like to talk a little walk around the human world.
After all, before any battle, a good vacation has to be in order, no?
Fufufufufufufufu~
.....
The darkness continued to plunder the world, despite its cluelessness of what was to come. Meanwhile, in the hearts of one of the Habitable Blood Line lands, laid a tired Levon.
It wasn’t very often that Levon would ever admit his fatigue. But... but his time in his new home was giving him just that.
"Come on, you lowly wankers!... Rise and shine!... Rise and shine for this Daddy!!"
Levon rolled his eyes heavenwards. There it was again, the Old Tens meaning troubles for new 10s!
Despite them not directly targeting him, their nuisance was disrupting his good sleep and just overall, pissing him off!!!!
Levon placed a pillow over his head and tried to go back to bed. Sadly, no matter what he did, he just couldn’t fall asleep anymore. And so... he had no choice but to stay away from 4 AM till the sun’s butt completely rose high in the morning skies.
Sigh... Levon shook his head wryly after returning from the baths. Shugo and Leo also looked like they were at their wit’s end at this point.
"Damn, these bastards!" Shugo cursed. "Don’t they have anything better to do?"
"Tch." Leo scowled. "Luckily, today is Distribution day. And after this, we can take on missions and get the hell out of his rowdy chicken farm."
Levon nodded but said nothing.
Yes... today, they’ll know what departments they belong to.
That’s right, it was DISTRIBUTION DAY!
