Chapter 67: Chapter 67

Luella’s eyes narrowed as she swung her axe, enveloping it with her mana, aiming for Remillia’s neck. But I was much faster than her, dodging and weaving around her attack with ease.

’There!’

She saw an opening and struck, her dagger is also encased with her own mana, flashing in the sunlight as she targeted Luella’s Achilles tendon.

"F*ck!"

Luella howled in pain as Remillia’s blade bit deep into her heel. The big warrior stumbled backwards, clutching at her injured leg. Remillia took advantage of the momentary distraction to strike again and again, each blow precise and calculated, always hitting the same spot.

Slash!

Slash!

Slash!

Luella tried to counterattack, but Remillia didn’t stop, she was dancing around her opponent with ease. When Luella swung her axe, Remillia would dodge and weave, striking back with quick, precise blows that found their mark. After that, her defensive shield seemed to break. That’s when Luella started to sweat profusely as she unconsciously dropped her axe.

"W-wait," she tried to reason with me but I became deaf as I gave her a sinister smile.

"Then I’m not the Mad Witch anymore if I stop, right?"

Luella seemed to have lost color on her face as she tried to stand up but stumbled down again. Remillia’s blows began to take their toll. Her movements became slower and more labored as she fought through the pain in her heel and thigh. Finally, Luella realized she was no match for Remillia’s speed and agility.

In a desperate attempt to turn the tide of the battle, Luella charged forward with her axe raised high, ignoring the pain she was feeling. But Remillia was ready for her. As Luella brought the axe down, Remillia darted under it, striking at Luella’s wrists with a swift series of blows.

Luella’s grip on the axe faltered as her hands began to numb from the repeated blows. She tried to drop the weapon, but it was too heavy to let go of completely. With a final effort, she managed to release it, and it clattered to the ground.

Clang!

Luella fell down on her knees. She was bleeding everywhere although the cuts aren’t that deep. She can’t take anymore blows as she weakly shouted, "I-I accept defeat!"

I stood over her, panting slightly from exertion then with a heavy sigh, I knelt in front of her and whispered, "don’t mess with me again."

Luella finally passed out as medics came to her rescue, I stood up and went back to the backdoor, feeling exhausted since she used her spectral seal.

’I’m glad my mark was hidden.’

The host stuttered as he announced the results.

"The winner of the first match for the first year is Remillia Lockhart! What an outstanding victory!"

The audience was dumbfounded for a moment before finally erupting into cheers. The audience was in uproar, even the judges and students of the Glacial Sphere Academy seemed to be stunned by the turn of events. This was the first time a low rank student like her successfully defeated a higher rank student! This was a first time in history!

The students who know Remillia unconsciously cheered at her.

"Yeah! The mad witch won over that knucklehead bully!"

Some of the students hated Luella’s guts, not only was she a bully but she also displays that she was friends with Edge and Whitney although they haven’t seen her hang out with them lately. She’s one egoistical b!tch! They’re glad that Remillia put her in her rightful place.

Before the match between the first years started, Thorne Vex was there along with his boss, Kairos Thane. His boss seemed to be bored already when the fight hasn’t even started yet.

"B-boss what do you think of our spot? I saved it for the best!"

Thorne tried to liven up the atmosphere although his boss only stared at him with cold eyes.

’Ever since I met him here, he was already in a bad mood. What did he do anyway?’

"I’m going. It’s up to you to examine them carefully."

"Huh?"

Kairos was about to leave when he caught sight of the girl he fought with a while ago. A hint of interest flashed into his eyes as he sat down again.

"Nevermind what I said."

Thorne only stared at his boss in confusion as he silently ate his popcorn.

’Boss is so weird today.’

Kairos Thane, watched the whole fight, his eyes seemed to be stuck at Remillia and in the end of the fight, his lips lifted up a little before disappearing again. Thorne Vex, his right hand man was watching his boss’ reaction and was stupefied to see that other than being nonchalant, his boss showed a reaction today!

Thorne looked at the winner again, The girl was good looking and from what she showed during her fight, I can say that she has experience. She slashed everywhere but dodged her opponent’s weak points, it’s as if she’s waiting for her to surrender herself.

She might be a well trained assassin considering how she only used a dagger yet managed to defeat a burly looking girl whose weapon is an axe.

He shivered at his thought. The girl and his boss are almost the same, they like to play with their prey before finally killing them off.

"Boss."

"What?"

"Do you know that girl just now?" he pointed at Remillia who is leaving the arena.

"No."

"Then why did you smi-" Thorne shut his mouth when his boss glared at him.

"You were saying?"

"Did i say anything? It must be your hallucination haha."

His boss didn’t say anything anymore.

’Whew! Why did I even accompany him in the first place? Huhu!’

Her first match was disappointing to say the least. If only Luella wasn’t that arrogant, then we would have a great fight. She’s at least ranked at 20 or 50 and yet because of her carelessness, she was beaten by me. Her movements are also sloppy.

Although an axe could deliver powerful blows and suppose it doubles up when you encase it with mana, it is heavy to use it. On the other side, daggers like mine or swords are for more versatile and agile when all you have is speed.

’I need to rest up for my next fight.’

I used my vote to fight with Jasper Reed, a sword user ranked 200th in the Academy. It was scheduled at 5 P.M. Although I got disappointed with my first fight, I was hoping that this next fight must be worth it. She wanted to have a nice little warm-up before she tries to take on the top-ranked students.

It was already 5 P.M. when she went out to the arena again. As expected, it was still full of people despite of the time and the sun was already setting down.

Jasper Reed was already waiting for her, his sword at the ready. Although he stood tall, I kept sensing this weird vibe around him. They don’t know each other but Remillia could already tell that Jasper was different like Luella.

*sighs*

’Please let this be a decent fight.’

Now that our armor is set up, we waited for the host’s shout to start the battle.

"Remillia Lockhart versus Jasper Reed. Get ready in 3... 2... 1. Let the sparring begin!"

As the fight began, Remillia quickly realized that Jasper was a bit of an oddball. He was clumsy and awkward, swinging his sword in wide arcs and tripping over his own feet. Remillia tried to stop herself from laughing but a giggle still escaped as Jasper stumbled around the arena.

"Pfft!"

Jasper, however, was not one to give up easily. He charged at Remillia with a fierce cry, "AAAAHHHHH!!!" only to trip over his own sword and face-plant into the dirt. Remillia couldn’t help but burst out laughing at the sight.

"HAHAHAHAHA! Stop! Please stop!"

As Jasper struggled to get back to his feet, Remillia took advantage of the distraction to strike. With a quick flick of her wrist, she sent her dagger flying towards Jasper’s chest. But instead of dodging or parrying the blow, Jasper tried to block it with his sword... by holding it upside down.

The dagger bounced off Jasper’s sword with a loud "THUD" and landed with a splat in the dirt right next to him. Jasper looked up at Remillia with a confused expression, as if to say, "What just happened?"

Remillia couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it all. "I think you’re going to need to work on your sword skills, my friend!" she said with a grin.

With Jasper still dazed and confused, Remillia delivered a few quick jabs to his stomach and knocked him out cold. The referee declared her the winner by knockout, and Remillia walked away from the arena laughing and shaking her head.

As she left the arena, she turned to one of the participants and said, "Well, that was definitely an easy win! I guess you could say Jasper Reed ’sabers’ himself into defeat!"

The participant can’t help but groan at the terrible pun, but Remillia just winked and said, "Hey, someone’s got to keep the mood light around here!"

Jasper is indeed different with Luella. Luella is more on the arrogant side while Jasper is on the clumsy side.
