Location: Central Arcane Auditorium – Morning

‎‎The Magical Midterm Exams were legendary.

‎‎Not because they were difficult (they were), but because they were… alive.

‎The exam hall itself was a shifting, enchanted maze conjured by centuries-old headmasters. Each student’s test adapted to their strengths—and more importantly, their insecurities.

‎‎Zephyr Arclight stood at the entrance, holding… a tray of muffins.

‎He wasn’t even a student.

‎‎But due to “clerical anomalies” (Selena), he’d been registered to “participate under observation.”

‎‎By the Headmaster himself.

‎Zephyr stared at the shifting marble gate.

‎‎“Why is it pulsing?”

‎‎Professor Figgs adjusted his monocle. “It reacts to fear.”

‎‎“…That’s comforting.”

‎Location: Inside the Exam Labyrinth

‎‎Zephyr stepped in.

‎‎The door vanished behind him. The hallway stretched endlessly ahead, torches flickering like nervous eyebrows. An ominous whisper floated down the corridor:

‎‎“Face your greatest weakness…”

‎‎Zephyr blinked.

‎Suddenly, the hallway split into dozens of mop-lined corridors. One door read:

‎‎“EXCESSIVE ATTENTION FROM GIRLS”

‎‎Another:

‎‎“INTENSE PROPHECY PRESSURE”

‎‎And finally, one glowed red:

‎‎“MATCHA LATTE TEMPTATION”

‎‎Zephyr sighed. “This place is self-aware now?”

‎‎He took the hallway labeled “FINAL BOSS CLEANUP.”

‎Meanwhile: Observation Chamber

‎Selena Frostveil sat with Headmaster Greaves and the Student Council. They watched Zephyr on a dozen crystal screens.

‎‎“Wait,” muttered Greaves. “He’s not casting any spells.”

‎‎“He doesn’t need to,” Selena said. “The maze calibrates itself to magical signatures. Zephyr’s mana is the anomaly.”

‎Rosalia clutched her holy pendant. “He’s cleaning with divine intent!”

‎‎Arwen furrowed her brow. “That’s not divine. That’s just… him.”

‎‎Drakynia growled. “Can we not give him more titles?”

‎Inside the Boss Room

‎‎Zephyr entered a chamber filled with flames, dark sigils, and a demonic figure twenty feet tall.

‎‎“BEHOLD!” it bellowed. “I AM YOUR GREATEST TEST! I AM THE—”

‎‎Zephyr lobbed a muffin into its mouth.

‎‎It blinked. Chewed.

‎‎“...Is this banana-walnut?”

‎‎“Yes.”

‎The demon sobbed. “My grandma used to bake these…”

‎‎The sigils fizzled out.

‎‎Zephyr wiped some soot off the floor. “Next?”

‎Back at the Entrance

‎‎Zephyr walked out thirty minutes early.

‎‎Selena ran over, notebook in hand. “You’re… done?”

‎‎Zephyr nodded. “The demon’s writing a memoir now.”

‎‎Arwen stormed over. “You made a demonic avatar cry with baked goods!”

‎‎Rosalia glowed. “It was the muffin of light.”

‎‎Drakynia folded her arms. “This school isn’t ready for him.”

‎‎The Headmaster approached, eyes wide. “Mr. Arclight… might I… hire you?”

‎‎Zephyr blinked. “As what?”

‎‎The Headmaster held out a shimmering gold card.

‎‎“Magical Hazard Containment and Arcane Sanitation Specialist.”

‎‎Zephyr stared.

‎‎“…So, basically still a janitor.”
