I Was Summoned as the Academy’s Janitor… But I Accidentally Became the Most Overpowered Harem Protagonist?!
Chapter 30: The Tentacle Confrontation — And a Surprise Confession?!

‎Location: Forbidden Zone, Deep Jungle of Love Island

‎‎ Magical Warning: High-Energy Disturbance Detected

‎The ground trembled slightly beneath their feet.

‎‎Selena Frostveil, still gripping her crystal-lens scanner, narrowed her eyes at the glowing altar. “This is a Class-4 Seal Lock… woven with divinity-grade bindings. Someone—or something—tried very hard to keep this kraken buried.”

‎‎Rosalia de Glorieux, who had somehow pulled out a holy tiara from her beach bag, was already mid-ritual. “By the divine authority of the Maidening Order, I demand you reveal thy name, great tentacled beast!”

‎‎The altar cracked.

‎‎The air shimmered.

‎‎A low, echoing growl rippled through the trees.

‎Location: Cliffside Overlook

‎‎Zephyr Arclight blinked, eyes narrowed as the sky flickered unnaturally above the jungle.

‎‎“...Of course they found the kraken shrine,” he muttered, standing up from the campfire.

‎‎Drakynia, mid-sip of coconut juice, frowned. “Should we go help?”

‎Arwen stood, brushing off sand from her sundress. “Do we really have a choice?”

‎‎Selena’s emergency mana beacon lit up in Zephyr’s pocket.

‎‎Ping! KRKN ALERT

He sighed.

‎‎“…Time to mop.”

‎Moments Later: The Forbidden Shrine

‎‎The beast erupted in a cyclone of magical water and writhing limbs.

‎‎Elder Kraken of the Abyssal Seal

‎[Class: SSS-Exiled]

‎Status: Slightly Annoyed. Slightly Hungry.

‎‎Rosalia readied her blessed rapier. “Stand back! I will defend your honor, Zephyr!”

‎‎Selena whispered a dozen containment spells into the wind. “We need to bind its core. If it escapes the island, we’ll have a sea-level threat.”

‎‎Zephyr arrived with his enchanted mop, casually slinging it over his shoulder.

‎‎“Did someone call for janitorial pest control?”

‎‎The kraken blinked its many eyes.

‎‎Then it screeched.

‎‎Then it lunged.

‎Combat Report: Chaos

•‎‎Drakynia intercepted a tentacle with a flaming kick.

•‎‎Rosalia tried to exorcise it… and got flung into a tree. (She gave it 3/10 for spiritual decorum.)

•‎‎Selena activated an anti-eldritch grid, which short-circuited her own boots.

•‎‎Arwen froze half the battlefield—and also her hair.

‎‎Zephyr, meanwhile, struck once.

‎‎Just once.

‎His mop connected with the kraken’s forehead.

‎‎BONK.

‎‎And then... silence.

‎The kraken whimpered, curled up, and shrank into a kitten-sized puddle of magical ink.

‎Zephyr looked down. “…That was anticlimactic.”

‎Aftermath: Beachfront Cliffside – Sunset

‎‎They gathered again, injured, soaked, and annoyed—but alive.

‎‎Rosalia leaned on Zephyr’s shoulder. “You were amazing.”

‎‎Drakynia grumbled, pulling sand out of her hair. “Whatever. You just happened to mop a pressure node.”

‎‎Selena stared. “That shouldn’t have worked. Not unless he’s…”

‎‎“More than a janitor,” Arwen whispered, not quite looking at him.

‎‎Zephyr opened his mouth to deflect—

‎‎And paused.

‎‎Selena stepped forward.

‎‎With a flushed face and firm voice, she said:

‎‎“…I like you.”

‎Dead silence.

‎‎Rosalia fainted.

‎‎Arwen looked like she’d swallowed a comet.

‎‎Drakynia actually dropped her coconut.

‎‎Selena adjusted her glasses.

‎‎“I calculated the probability of this confession over the past eleven days. I’ve made peace with the variables.”

‎‎Zephyr blinked.

‎‎“…Thanks.”
