I See the Aura of the Great Emperor in All My Disciples -
Chapter 1831: Divine Vein Slave
Chapter 1831: Chapter 1831: Divine Vein Slave
In the vast Immortal Realm, the naked eye could not see its boundaries.
Only through Lu Changsheng’s senses could its full appearance be revealed.
It was not divided into factions nor fragmented into several continents.
It resembled a towering cone, with palaces sprawling from the base to the apex along the cone’s perimeter.
The higher up one ascended, the smaller the space became, and the fewer the palaces.
However, the scale, brilliance, and richness of Divine Energy within the palaces increased exponentially.
At the very top, above the clouds, stood a palace that seemed to radiate anomalies and phenomena.
Nine stars encircled it; dragons, phoenixes, White Tigers, and Black Tortoises intertwined, embodying the Four Symbols through the convergence of Divine Energy.
These were formations.
Not to mention the strict guards—security posts every ten steps, where countless Divine Weapons and divine generals vigilantly protected the surroundings.
Lu Changsheng glanced briefly before retracting his senses; for now, he stood on the outermost edges, far from entering the cone itself.
From here, he surveyed the grand layout; the cone was densely populated with palaces all over its surface.
Observing more closely, distinct regions surrounded the palaces.
The region closest to Lu Changsheng was named Tianxing Palace.
Both inside and outside Tianxing Palace, people moved about, but their expressions were uniformly solemn.
After altering his appearance, Lu Changsheng blended in, adjusting the aura within him to mimic Divine Energy.
This was a simple feat for Lu Changsheng; after all, he had long prepared and anticipated such circumstances.
Everyone here wore purple robes, with the characters for "Tianxing" engraved upon their chest.
They filed in and out of the palace, their faces tense with urgency.
Lu Changsheng flowed along with the crowd and stepped into the palace.
Passing through the grand and towering palace gates, he felt a faint spatial distortion.
In an instant, the scene before him transformed dramatically.
No copper walls, no towering city walls, nor ascending spiral staircases.
Instead, it felt as though he had stepped into another realm, standing atop a mountain peak where a chessboard rested majestically. Clouds and mist swirled around it, enveloping everyone standing upon the chessboard.
Lu Changsheng was no exception.
"Did you hear? This time’s instructions seem to come directly from the Earth-rank palaces."
"And it appears the Earth-rank palaces themselves are taking significant action too."
"How is that possible? If even the Earth-rank palaces are mobilizing, the orders must have come directly from the Heavenly Palace itself. When’s the last time the Heavenly Palace issued directives?"
Amidst the scattered exchanges, Lu Changsheng began to understand the hierarchical structure of the Immortal Realm’s palace system.
In simple terms, Heaven represents the pinnacle. The Heavenly Palace atop the mountain is the singular, supreme palace.
"Indeed, unless something shakes the entirety of the Immortal Realm, the Heavenly Palace would never issue commands so easily."
"Let’s see what this arrangement entails. The Immortal Realm has stood stagnant too long. Without grand actions, this world may forget the might of the Immortal Realm."
"You’re right, but..."
Before the speaker could finish, the mist abruptly dissipated.
Above the chessboard, a sacred white light pierced through the heavens as if tearing open a great fissure, illuminating the scene below!
The scattered conversation suddenly fell silent. Everyone gazed upward with reverence, kneeling on one knee as though welcoming the descent of a divine miracle.
Within the sacred light stood two figures.
One had a stern expression, his towering physique exuding authority. The other was veiled beneath a white robe.
Yet.
The figure in the white robe stood half a step ahead of the imposing man.
"Greetings, Divine Envoy! Greetings, Hall Master!"
Divine Envoy?
Lowering his head, Lu Changsheng’s brow furrowed slightly.
Previously, in The Mortal Realm, he had encountered a Divine Envoy before.
It seemed the position of Divine Envoy was held in high esteem within the Immortal Realm.
The Hall Master waved a hand and said, "Rise, all of you."
Then, the Tianxing Hall Master turned to the Divine Envoy, who simply raised his head slightly, indicating for the Hall Master to speak.
Receiving the cue, the Hall Master nodded and began, "I suppose many of you have already guessed that this directive comes directly from the Heavenly Palace. Regardless of whether you are from Yellow Rank, Mystic-Tier, Earth-rank, or even the Heavenly Palace itself, everyone will participate in this mission."
The confirmation hit.
Shock rippled across everyone’s faces.
"This mission is of critical importance—so much so that it concerns the future destiny of the Immortal Realm itself. Success means the six worlds will fall under our Immortal Realm’s control." The Tianxing Hall Master swept his gaze across everyone present, including Lu Changsheng. But his gaze lingered no longer on him than on anyone else.
"Naturally, different ranks will have different roles. Our Tianxing Palace’s task is to lead the Divine Vein slaves in rapidly collecting Divine Ore Essence to serve as support for the later stages."
It seemed the Hall Master noticed the dissatisfaction brewing among those below.
In response, he shouted sternly, "Do not think this task is simple and shirk it! This directive was issued directly by the Heavenly Palace!"
Before he could say more, the white-robed Divine Envoy stepped forward.
Sensing the shift, the Tianxing Hall Master wisely closed his mouth.
The Divine Envoy spoke calmly, "This mission is pivotal. Failure is not an option, and thus the rewards will be greater.
If the slaves assigned to you collect enough Divine Ore Essence, you stand a chance to ascend to Mystic-Tier."
Upon hearing this.
The crowd erupted.
The Immortal Realm’s hierarchy was extraordinarily rigid; even a single character difference between ranks—Yellow to Mystic—was as insurmountable as ascending heaven itself. Many spent lifetimes failing to reach the Mystic-Tier palaces.
It was known that each rise in rank brought immense advantages—not just access to resources and connections, but the Divine Energy concentrated tenfold compared to Yellow Rank was enough to drive them mad!
"However, slots are limited." The Divine Envoy poured cold water over their fervor, speaking indifferently, "Among all assigned to Yellow Rank, there will only be ten such positions. And of course, you may not compete with one another over this reward. I will personally oversee this. Should anyone disrupt the mission’s overall progress, punishment will far exceed death... With Divine Fire Burning, I trust you all understand the severity?"
Upon hearing the term Divine Fire Burning.
Everyone on the chessboard shuddered, terror etched across their faces.
Lu Changsheng observed and mimicked their reaction, trembling and feigning fear.
In the meantime, a goal began taking form in his mind.
First, he needed to figure out what exactly the Divine Vein and these slaves were.
Then, he could position himself for entry into Mystic-Tier.
Though Lu Changsheng could easily ascend to Mystic-Tier unnoticed if he wished.
For now, gathering information remained crucial; he would learn more about the Immortal Realm before making any moves.
"Enough talk. Follow me to the Divine Vein."
With those words, the Divine Envoy waved his hand.
The entire mountain began to tremble, the chessboard moving with it.
A corner of the chessboard fractured, its pieces scattering and transforming into an elevated pathway that floated in mid-air—a path leading to a twisting black vortex at its end.
Lu Changsheng joined the others, crossing along the suspended pathway and into the vortex.
As the space twisted, the scene before them shifted.
The sight that unfolded caused a faint heaviness to settle in Lu Changsheng’s heart.
Here, Divine Energy was extraordinarily concentrated, but within it lingered traces of toxicity.
Moreover.
Below them were naked, shackled figures bound with heavy chains, their bodies clearly infused with spiritual energy and immortal aura...
