“When you’ve made your decision, come find me at the Chi Imperial Clan,” Xu Zimo nodded and returned to his seat.

Jiang Mochou seemed a bit shaken. He ate a few distracted bites, then quietly left the inn.

“Senior Brother, do you know him?” Little Gui asked curiously.

The disciple snorted.

“Not just anyone can meet our Saintess. If you can’t prove your identity, I’m not passing the message.”

Xu Zimo’s tone grew colder.

“You know, the last person who challenged me, the weeds on his grave are two meters tall by now. I’ll give you one chance. Refuse to pass the message, and I’ll walk away. But any consequences after that… your Chi Imperial Clan will bear them.”

“You trying to scare me?” the disciple sneered. “Open your eyes. This is Sky Pond City, an Imperial Lineage!”

“Enough, Chi Lei,” the other guard interrupted with a frown. He turned to Xu Zimo and said, “Wait here. I’ll go report to our Saintess. Whether she wants to meet you or not, I can’t guarantee.”
