📢 New Novel Launch!
As the massive shadow descended from the sky, the world fell into complete silence.
The floating landmass trembled and rumbled with thunderous explosions in the air.
After some time, a massive continent hovered directly above Xu Zimo’s head.
"Silent Extinction Ridge," Xu Zimo muttered, narrowing his eyes as he looked upward.
The thick aura of annihilation surrounding it was the remnant legacy of Grand Emperor San Dao.
Having once cultivated the Annihilation Codex, Xu Zimo could naturally sense the familiar energy from above.
"One of the Ten Forbidden Grounds," Little Gui exclaimed in awe upon hearing the name.
The Ten Forbidden Grounds were legendary throughout the Primordial Heartlands, even a three-year-old could recite them.
"Senior Brother, I’ve heard there are countless treasures on Silent Extinction Ridge, maybe even some Grand Emperor True Treasures," Little Gui said eagerly.
"You’re thinking too much," Xu Zimo shook his head. "Grand Emperor True Treasures aren’t so easily obtained."
As his voice fell, several streaks of light came flying from the distance.
The pressure of Empyrean Meridian Realm cultivators swept across the sky with violent gales. When the streaks of light landed near Silent Extinction Ridge, Little Gui saw clearly, it was five people.
Two of them were at the Imperial Meridian Realm, and the other three were Empyrean Meridian Realm powerhouses.
"They’re fast. Silent Extinction Ridge just appeared and already they’ve arrived," Little Gui said in surprise.
"See that man in the blood-red robe?" Xu Zimo said with a smile. "He’s the sect master of the Blood Nether Sacred Ground. Back when Grand Emperor San Dao carried Heaven’s Will into battle, their Holy Son entered Silent Extinction Ridge with the Blood Nether Bell, an artifact passed down by their founder. He never came out. The sect’s Grand Emperor True Treasure was lost here as well."
In the Eastern Continent’s core, six major Imperial Lineages dominated the region.
Apart from the Divine Gate hidden in the Elden Lands, founded by the God Emperor, there were six publicly known ones:
…
Among the five people at Silent Extinction Ridge, aside from the two Imperial Meridian Realm experts, the three Empyrean Meridian cultivators each hailed from one of those sects.
Besides the Blood Nether Sacred Ground, the others came from the Dan Imperial Clan and Supreme Primal Sacred Ground.
"Senior Brother, should we go in?" Little Gui asked as he looked up.
"Not yet. We’d better hurry to the core region of the Eastern Continent," Xu Zimo replied, shaking his head.
Above, the darkness around Silent Extinction Ridge churned like demonic faces, roaring through the mist.
Dense annihilation energy filled the air, mixing with dark-gray fog that consumed the surrounding space.
It was hard to see inside the ridge, everything was pitch black.
While the three Empyrean Meridian cultivators watched cautiously, the two Imperial Meridian cultivators exchanged glances.
Their True Fates manifested as unparalleled long blades, each slash tearing space as they charged toward the Ridge.
As soon as their blades touched the dark fog, it reacted violently, twisting and snarling as it engulfed the two.
The fog boiled. Howls rang out. Blades of energy burst outward from within.
After a long struggle, the two cultivators were finally thrown out, battered and exhausted.
Looking at the still-churning fog, fear filled their eyes.
The other three Empyrean Meridian cultivators also frowned deeply.
Wearing his blood-red robe, the Blood Nether Sect Master said solemnly: "The aura of annihilation here is too thick. I don’t think we can break through it now. We should wait until the fog thins before entering."
The Dan Imperial Clan elder nodded and sighed, "It’s rare to witness Silent Extinction Ridge. If we wait too long, it may attract other sects. Besides, no one knows how long the ridge will remain here, it moves unpredictably."
"No choice. We wait," the Supreme Primal Sacred Ground elder said calmly.
…
Xu Zimo and Little Gui didn’t linger.
They continued eastward and traveled for four days.
Eventually, the vast mountain range of the Grand Myriad Mountains faded behind them, replaced by open plains.
In the distance, the vague silhouette of a city appeared on the horizon.
After scanning their surroundings, the two headed straight toward it.
"Celestial Sun City," Little Gui read the characters above the gate aloud.
After entering and asking around, they quickly figured out where they were.
This was the border between Supreme Primal Sacred Ground’s and the Chi Imperial Clan’s territories.
To the north lay the Chi Imperial Clan’s lands.
To the south was the Supreme Primal Sacred Ground’s domain.
The two found an inn, planning to eat and rest for the night before heading to the Chi Imperial Clan the next day.
…
The inn was bustling with business. Xu Zimo, as usual, chose a window seat.
As they were eating, a black-robed youth entered the inn.
With deep eyes, the youth scanned the room and sat quietly at a nearby table.
Xu Zimo paused. He felt a stirring in his Hell-Suppressing Deity Physique, a sense of resonance.
It was the feeling of encountering a kindred body.
The black-robed youth also seemed to sense something. He turned his head and stared seriously at Xu Zimo.
Inside him, the Scarlet Flame Imperial Physique was trembling, in fear and submission.
…
The two locked eyes for a long time.
Xu Zimo raised his cup and downed the wine in one gulp. Then he chuckled and shook his head.
He suddenly remembered a story from his past life.
Back when he reached the God Meridian Realm, a shocking event had shaken the core of the Eastern Continent: A lone youth stormed the Supreme Primal Sacred Ground, home to two Emperors.
Even when the sect summoned the war generals of Grand Emperor Heng Yu, they couldn’t stop him.
Instead, several of their Empyrean Meridian Realm elders were slain, and the youth left unharmed.
That youth was the holder of the third strongest of the Hundred Battle Physiques:
The Scarlet Flame Imperial Physique.
His name was, Jiang Mochou.
…
"You look familiar," Xu Zimo said, finishing his drink and walking toward Jiang Mochou.
"Who are you?" Jiang Mochou asked cautiously.
"Do you want revenge?" Xu Zimo asked, eyes gleaming with curiosity.
