I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 54: Do You Have Money?

Chapter 54: Do You Have Money?

Yuri guessed a possibility that could make Officer Lyao so busy—Tuss’ alpha level might be more than SS-tier.

Yuri was not surprised at all, as if it was supposed to be this way.

"Yuri, let’s go in and have a look," Bassus suggested to Yuri.

Yuri came back to her senses, shook her head and replied, "I will wait here, you go ahead."

Bassus was surprised and asked, "Aren’t you curious? The test results of Tuss might be exceptional, he..."

"All signs indicate that he should be more than SS-tier, right?" Yuri interjected with a smile.

Bassus also smiled and replied, "Yes. But I still want to see this result with my own eyes. I’ll go ahead, see you later."

As soon as Bassus left, Yuri’s opticomputer rang. It was Ender.

"I’m at the school hospital for a level test." Yuri didn’t wait for him to ask and explained first.

Ender showed understanding and asked, "Can we come over?"

Ender saw Yuri and Tuss leaving with Officer Lyao’s student, so he asked the question.

Yuri was not quite sure either, saying, "Maybe you guys can wait at the campus gate for a while?"

Ender nodded and said, "Alright. Besides us, there are others who want to celebrate Tuz’s victory."

"Are they Tuz’s classmates?" Yuri asked, her tone indifferent.

"Not all of them. Some are the participants of today’s competition." Ender knew Yuri disliked bustling scenes, so he couldn’t guess her thoughts.

If Yuri was unhappy, he would have to tell the others to reschedule.

Surprisingly, Yuri asked, "Have you decided on a place?"

"No, because we’re not sure if Tuz has the time." Ender felt relieved when hearing Yuri seem to have agreed.

"Then let’s go to our place." It was getting late, and Yuri didn’t want the hassle of going elsewhere and then coming back home.

Yuri started placing an order on the interstellarnet, choosing various ingredients for home delivery, and hiring three chefs.

She estimated the time. From when she finished the order to when the chefs started cooking, it would take about one to two hours. By the time they returned home, the food should be almost ready.

Ender was silent. It seemed that Yuri’s understanding of a "celebration" was different from his.

"What’s wrong? Any problem?" Tyrone patted Ender’s shoulder. He was as lively as a tiger after being in the treatment chamber for more than ten minutes, his face no longer bruised.

"Yuri has set the celebration venue at their manor." Ender apologetically reported.

"What’s wrong with the manor?" Tyrone was confused.

"The manor is fine. It’s just about having meals and chatting, the activities are limited." Ender explained.

"We’re just going there to eat and chat, what else do you want to do?" Tyrone asked.

The others also turned to Ender and said, "Yeah, what else do you want to do?"

Ender, the crazy partyer, fell silent.

Back at the hospital, Yuri didn’t wait long before Tuss came out.

"Just you?" Yuri asked, puzzled.

"They probably have a short meeting to attend." Tuss answered.

The two seemed to have a tacit understanding and could guess what each other was going to say.

"Can we leave now?" Yuri asked, looking at the evening sky outside. The streetlights were already lit.

Tuss hummed in agreement, "Let’s head back first."

The two walked side by side towards the exit.

"I apologize, I was impulsive earlier," Tuss admitted.

Yuri coldly huffed, "There better not be a next time."

Tuss furrowed his brows, earnestly saying, "I can’t guarantee. Alphas usually have poor self-control when they are around a Beta they like."

Yuri shot him a glance and asked, "You’re justifying yourself?"

"It’s instinct, not an excuse," Tuss said, looking straight at her, "It’s not like you hate me or I make you disgusted. Why not give me a chance?"

"What do you like about me? Because I’m good to you? But didn’t you later learn that it was because I coveted your ore planet, that I had ulterior motives?" Yuri was confused. After knowing the truth, shouldn’t Tuss be disappointed and resent me? Why is he still so obsessed?

Tuss remained silent, slowing down his pace. Just as Yuri thought he wouldn’t answer, he spoke, "At first, I was indeed moved, and it was this emotion that led me to want to know more about you. But the closer I got to you, the more addicted I became."

"Is it because of the pheromone?" Yuri asked skeptically, and firmly believed. "Pheromones are too terrifying. During the heat cycle, I was controlled by it, and I didn’t even recognize myself."

Tuss: "......"

He may have found the reason of why she couldn’t accept him, and even couldn’t see her own feelings clearly.

Tuss gave a bitter smile. He had originally thought that being an alpha and beta pair would be a plus, but to her, it had become an obstacle.

The topic did not continue, because Tuss knew that they would not reach any conclusion today.

By this time, they had reached the campus gate.

As soon as Tuss appeared, others immediately gathered around with smiles.

"Bro, you’re as impressive as ever."

"Tuss, you were super cool today."

"Haha, those boys from the Empire probably got a real scare from us."

...

Everyone was talking, creating a harmonious vibe.

Yuri stood outside the crowd, considering whether to call a lev cab, when Hoolin took out his flying vehicle.

Yuri had ridden in Ender’s lev before, and now she looked at Hoolin’s vehicle and wondered, were flying vehicles always so varied?

"Do you want one?" Tuss asked, appearing next to her suddenly.

Yuri turned to look at him and asked, "Is it expensive?"

"Not at all. If you want one, I can gift you one," Hoolin said, sounding serious.

Tuss’s face turned dark immediately, saying, "We can afford it, we don’t need your gift."

Hoolin expressed doubt, "Can you afford it? Even paying a fine ticket hurt Yuri’s feelings."

Tuss choked, his face darkening even more, he gritted his teeth and said, "Maybe we’re not as rich as you, but we can still afford a lev."

"Weren’t there rewards for today’s competition?" Yuri curiously asked, as competitions usually have cash prizes.

At Yuri’s words, everyone fell silent. They looked at each other, thinking about how Yuri traded her starstone for the mansion, wondering how to tell her that the competition’s reward wasn’t enough to buy a flying vehicle.

Yuri noticed the strange looks on everyone’s faces and promptly dropped the subject of the reward. She then asked Tuss, "Have you sold the gemstones?"

"The auction starts tomorrow. We’ll be able to sell them for a good price," Tuss didn’t tell Yuri that out of the six gemstones, he only planned to sell three.

"Right, when they’re sold, we can buy two levs, one each," Yuri casually said, her tone as if discussing what to eat the next day.

"Yuri, a lev costs no less than twenty million astracredits," Daleks reminded her.

Hearing this, Yuri responded, "That’s not too expensive."

The others were stunned. Twenty million astracredits isn’t expensive?

"Twenty million is probably just for the basic model. Let’s buy the fifty million ones," Yuri instructed Tuss.

With a doting face, Tuss replied, "Okay."

If the money from selling the gemstones wasn’t enough, he would extort Officer Lyao. If it were in the past, he might not care about the reward. But now things were different, he had a family to support, so he had to fight for what he deserved.

In the middle of a meeting, Officer Lyao suddenly sneezed.

"Chief, should we increase the room temperature?" someone next to him asked.

Officer Lyao shook his head, "No need, the temperature is just right. Someone must be thinking of me."
